Guest Reviews
- Caroline (4/5): - The communication was non existent. We didn’t get access to the property until nearly 18:30 after Expedia started looking for relocation options as we couldn’t get the host to respond and had no address or access information.
It was a very stressful few hours.
They blamed some breakdown in the supply chain. We booked with Expedia who contracted to TravelNest who passed to Idyllic cottages who passed to the owner. In that chain someone didn’t pass on our booking so when we called at 3pm for access information the host had no details about our booking. They said they’d deal with it but went AWOL for 3 hours. We were sat in the village in 2c with two children in the car with no bed for the night. Expedia were good but I’d never book a self catering property with them again as the correct procedures and check aren’t in place. The host eventually met us but was dismissive and didn’t apologise then held us up chatting at us after an already delayed entry. Would not recommend.
- Joanna (10/5): - We had a fantastic time at this cottage and in Wingham. The host made us feel very welcome and was super helpful when we arrived. The cottage is beautiful, and it was a treat to stay in a place like this.
Margate is about 30 30-minute drive from Wingham, but there's a seaside closer than that. Canterbury is only 10-15 minutes away, so it was a perfect location for exploring different parts of the local area. We hope we can return next year.
