Guest Reviews
- Alan (8/5): Totally acceptable once I was checked in. - I found communication a bit slow and posted information on reception desk hours contradictory. I worked out--reception desk was open past 5pm for my 7:15 arrival but I was stressed the whole way from the airport and St George's Quay on foot that I would not make it. I tried to call but using the information presented me could not connect via my USA iPhone. Probably something stupid I was doing but perhaps look at that information and see if it is the best information for travelers from outside of Ireland. I have been able to call other Ireland numbers since so I don't believe it is a phone issue. The room was just as expected--student housing + and met my needs. It would be nice if the television in the common room/kitchen had sill free access to local broadcasting.
- Dustin (10/5): - First and foremost, the staff at the Binary Hub were all fantastic. So friendly and helpful, with great tips for the area, suggestions on breakfast nearby and even a recommendation for a secret cocktail club. So grateful for all their help.
The room and facilities were simple and spotless. Coffee can be had in the reception in the mornings (a nice chance to chat with the staff.) No bells and whistles in the room, but those don’t matter to us, and for the price - this place really can’t be beat. The location is wonderful, just across from a small park and walkable to most everything.
All in all, the Binary Hub is highly recommended for the budget traveler - spotless, simple and perfectly located for walkability with friendly and helpful staff.
- Clifton (10/5): - Quiet and well located
- Melanie (10/5): - Ideal for our short break.Clean and tidy. There is a shared kitchen but we were not there long enough to use. Reasonably priced.Check in and out easy
- Mark (8/5): - Great accommodation for a 3 day break,
Location good(around 15 mins walk from temple bar area etc).
Clean and spacious room.
Just what we needed to explore, helpful reception staff.
- Wen (8/5): - Nice place to stay in Dublin for short trip
- Kiyomi (2/5): - This accommodation is repurposed student housing, and while expectations were modest, the standard of cleanliness fell far below acceptable. The room emitted a persistent, unpleasant odour. Floors were visibly sticky and soiled—walking barefoot resulted in blackened feet. Walls showed staining, baseboards mouldy, and the bathroom had dark discoloration around the toilet. Bed sheets had crumbs inside.
Facilities are minimal. Kitchen space is shared by the entire floor and was poorly maintained (sticky counters, spilled food, unwashed dishes). Laundry machines are located in a separate building and each contained visible black mould. At €3.50 per wash, this setup was both inconvenient and concerning from a hygiene standpoint. You have to lug your laundry from your building to the central building.
While check-in was straightforward, staff were unable to address cleanliness concerns outside of regular business hours. When issues were raised, we were advised to return the following morning to speak with a manager. Expedia’s own inquiry yielded the same result.
Location is removed from central Dublin— 20–25 minutes on foot to key attractions like Temple Bar and Trinity College. Given the substandard conditions and limited service support, this accommodation does not represent good value. You would be better served by paying slightly more for a professionally managed hotel in a more central location.
Would not recommend at all.
- Philip (10/5): - This property was clean, staff was friendly and helpful and location was excellent for public transit, airport express and hop on hop off. There is a grocery store nearby and kitchens are well stocked with utensils, dishes etc. Would be great for a family stay with teenagers and place has great security measures in place.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not ideal - Unbearably hot. Clearly maintained enough to house a student. Drains very slow and I cut my thumb turning the shower on
- Dee (6/5): - Great bang for your buck; only drawback is that the room can get extremely hot.
- Ming Kin (8/5): it's ok to stay here - the place is in city centre. however, it is quite noisy at night and the room is so hot in summer
- William (10/5): Great spot to stay in Dublin. - Great spot to stay in Dublin.
- Colin (6/5): - It is a nice basic property, but poorly managed. My room was nice, but only serviced on the 12th day after 4 complaints. (I would have thought it would be serviced automatically on day 5 -7).
I never saw any evidence that communal; kitchen was cleaned (or bins emptied).
It is located in a colorful neighborhood, but I was a little hesitant late at night.
- DIOMERYS (10/5): - Excelent locacion, walking distance to all the atractions , just leting people know they do not have air conditioning but we did not need it
- Mark (6/5): - If you want an inexpensive place to stay in Dublin then this is a good choice. It’s no-frills student accommodation and has limited extras such as coat hangers and tea towels. Still, you get what you pay for.
- Dermot (10/5): - The staff was very friendly. My room was clean and was a very easy in and out. Perfect for what I needed.
- Linda (10/5): - The reason I give this property 5 stars is because if the staff…Keva (sp) was amazing, we were 2 senior ladies and she could not have taken better care of us. She is helpful, kind, patient, funny and just the sweetest young lady. The rest of the staff, unfortunately I don’t have names we’re all very nice.
The low rating in communication was more with Expedia.com I believe, not communicating our requests to the Hub. We tried for 2 weeks to add a day at the beginning and end of our booking and it was never addressed as far as we were told .
The location of Binary Hub is good for walking to anywhere downtown, its student dorms so the rooms were small but clean and adequate for what we needed. Large kitchen area and large comfortable common room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Clean organized and ok - Comfortable bed and thick duvet. Clean. 4pm checkin felt late but they were organized and it worked out. Neighborhood not great, prefer Stonybatter hostel.
- Amy L (10/5): - Was on a solo adventure and this place was perfect. It’s within walking distance of transport and sights to see. The park next door was peaceful. The room was clean with plenty of storage for me and plenty of places to plug in whatever technology I had. The staff was helpful and friendly.
- Hiu (4/5): Very small room for two people - The room only suitable for one person. Everything is too small, the room, the bed and the bathroom. Staff members are friendly and helpful.
