- Julie (10/5): - The location is peacefully located at the edge of the town and was an easy 1/2 mile walk for us to explore. Some rooms are accessible, ours required stairs. Rooms, Ice, amenities, and morning coffee are are accessible via a convenient 4 digit code texted to you morning of check-in. Peaceful by river, nice patio and gracious yard. Beds comfortable.

- Joann (6/5): Breakfast? - The breakfast was only ONE muffin. No other places to get food in the area. We were going to be biking all morning. It wasn’t enough for us. It was advised as “breakfast included” so I didn’t bring lots of extra food. Very disappointing.
- Dawn (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at Green Gables Inn. The property was extremely clean and well appointed, which is always my top priority when traveling — and it exceeded my expectations. Before check-in, we appreciated being able to access restrooms and filtered water since we biked the Root River Trail earlier in the day. The locked bike storage was a huge plus, providing peace of mind with secure, temperature-controlled space and plenty of outlets for charging e-bikes. Overall, it was a comfortable and thoughtfully designed place to stay, and we would definitely return. A couple of small recommendations that would make the experience even better: Adding a top sheet over the bed blanket for sanitary reasons Switching from individual packets of soap, shampoo, and conditioner to refillable bottles for convenience and sustainability Highly recommend Green Gables Inn for anyone visiting Lanesboro!

I have stage 4 lung cancer, sugary items are not good for cancer patients. Room did not have any black out curtains, hard to sleep when daylight hits. Air conditioner buttons were broken, was stuck on 70 degrees. Property was nice looking, but not much to enjoy. Way overpriced for lack of amenities.

We appreciated that the size of the complex being small with just 15 units. We were on the lower, "B", level and unfortunately the ceiling creaked when the residents walked on the floor above us. The walls and ceiling seemed thin. The air conditioner was noisy as well but gave us white noise and didn't interfere with our sleep. We would stay here again.

- Jeffery (10/5): - Nicely maintained and managed property updated property. Within blocks of shopping and Root River bicycle path. Owner recently added a bike barn with bicycle stands, work bench and plenty of outlets for e-bikes. Very helpful and congenial host.
- Sandy (10/5): - Green Gables was very nice and perfect for our needs. It’s close to the Root River bike trail and has protected bike storage which was important since there was a big storm that went through the night we were there. Breakfast of coffee and muffins was really all we needed. Gardens we’re well kept and gazebo is a great place to sit and read.

- Gene (10/5): - Our room was awesome. We had the luxury suite. The couch recliner seemed new and of good quality. The bed was good but the sheets were getting thin. Housekeeping over looked emptying the coffee maker, so it was starting to grow. Sometimes things get overloaded. This was my first time staying at a place that didn't man the "front desk" You were emailed the door code and checked yourself in. It was kind of strange but it worked. All 'n all, it was a good experience.

The room was spotless, cozy, and felt like a true home away from home. The property itself is a gem—nestled right along the river, with beautiful gardens and plenty of peaceful spots to sit back and enjoy the view. Birdwatchers and wildlife lovers, take note: there’s no shortage of feathery and furry visitors to keep you company. The owners were absolutely wonderful—genuinely kind, welcoming, and full of great local tips. They made me feel like an old friend from the moment I arrived. Already counting down the days till next year’s trip. Green Gables Inn, you’ve officially earned a repeat customer!

- Jennifer (10/5): Perfection - Gorgeous grounds in a very convenient location. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and our room A8 was absolutely spotless. Loved the plush towels and cozy linens. There was even a bike shed where we could store our bikes overnight as we forgot to bring locks.
