- Jane (8/5): - I am in agreement with many reviews already posted: The Hotel was very cool and design beautiful, but it was not worth the dollars charged. Staff was good, but far from great. Waco overall was a disappointment, and other than Magnolia, I would definitely not had made a stop.
- Stephen (4/5): Underwhelming and overpriced. - Completely underwhelming, overpriced and poorly managed. The shower didn’t have hot water and the “engineer” was a nice guy but didn’t have a clue. I was unable to receive a phone number for a manager to discuss. They were unapologetic about the lack of the managers availability. I expected a better level of service for $750 a night in Waco. Live and learn and hopefully you will learn from this and save your hard earned money for a nice hotel that actually will get your bags out of your car to your room. Ridiculous.

- Trevor (10/5): - We had a fantastic two night stay at Hotel 1928. If you’re a Magnolia enthusiast, this is a must. Staff were so kind and helpful. Room was beautiful and spacious. Food at all the on site restaurants was also phenomenal. Not a complaint to be found and I would highly recommend staying at Hotel 1928
- Kristin (8/5): - The room itself was quite nice. The pillows for a king bed did not match. Pet peeve. The restaurant on the top floor needed baskets of blankets about for customers to snag one to use. Too cold to enjoy. Arrived right after a shower so the entire outside was unusable. A number of the cushions outside appeared moldy. Yes little things but what you pay to stay there they should not exist. Staff was quite friendly, perhaps a bit too open with their lives and the owners.
- Hope (10/5): Amazing stay - We loved everything about our stay at 1928. Everything to the last detail was looked after. It would have lovely to have had breakfast included in the price. Other than that it was perfect!
- Hope (10/5): Impressive Accomodation - Our 1928 experience lived up to all that we thought it would be! Amazing service, beautiful room, comfortable bed and the extra touches eg. Bed turn over with cookie and water just made our stay so lovely. The food in all 3 restaurants/cafes was also amazing. It was also close to the Silos ( 5 minute walk) which was fantastic.

- Jose (10/5): - Hotel from the tv show Fixer Upper the Hotel, went to the Magnolia Silos, they gave us flip flops, cookies, and water as part of the turn down when we got back from the Silos. Good at the hotel was great.

- Emma (8/5): - Stayed here to celebrate a birthday, I was looking forward to the rooftop experience but unfortunately it rained on Saturday with lightning and thunder so they kept it closed. We were able to walk out to take a few pictures. Which was nice, hopefully next time we can enjoy the rooftop.
- Susan (10/5): - Lovely hotel carefully renovated to stay true to character. It’s disappointing that they don’t have the Magnolia network on the tv, or at least let you see the hotel renovation show so you can remember all the neat details. My room was on the back of the hotel and it could do with some soundproofing. We knew when the food deliveries and trash pick ups happened- all of which happen before the hour that that my family wanted to wake up.

Só acho que os restaurantes poderiam ficar abertos até um pouquinho mais tarde (fecham às 9pm). Não conseguimos nos entender com o ar condicionado, queríamos desligar à noite e não deu certo.

- Jay (10/5): It’s the Little Things - Amazing experience! My wife and I celebrated our 17 anniversary this year and in passing she had mentioned that she’d really like to stay at 1928…I don’t regret the investment! The attention to detail was phenomenal! Everyone was great and made us feel so welcome and made our stay all the more enjoyable.

- Judy (4/5): - I thought the Gaines did a great job of making this a beautiful venue. Currently, however, it is not being maintained in an impressive way. Dust was obvious in the lobby, the employees were not well trained, and dress was sloppy. The best service we encountered was in the valet parking and they are not part of the hotel management.
- William (10/5): - Great 1920's era feel. Very nice. Roof restaurant had great food and very nice view. Room was excellent, a little pricey for Waco, TX, but if they can keep it full, more power to them. We would stay there on occasion when in town.
- Dan (6/5): A Bit Noisy South of the Brazos - In general the hotel was fine, but the soundproofing is severely lacking and I was subjected to the entire conversation between the 2 women in the room next to me. They were not loud, talking at normal levels, but I could hear everything they said... Thankfully the mini-fridge in the room, which apparently runs on diesel, was just banging just loud enough to drowned out the gals long enough for me to get to sleep. I was also told the rooftop restaurant, where I had booked a table, was closed due to a maintenance issue, although I was later informed was more driven by understaffing for a private event that evening. Not ideal, but I enjoyed a nice casual meal in the ground floor Brasserie.

- DAVID (10/5): Fixed Up - Unashamedly we were in town for a Fixer Upper fix. Hotel 1928 was a must stay and it didn’t disappoint. Our Austin room was tastefully decorated, clean and spacious. We also dined at Bertie’s rooftop and had one of our more refined (and healthy) meals in Texas so far. Walkable to Silos and also had free street parking available.

- Jerri (10/5): Worth a stay! - It was a delightful experience! The room was in excellent condition and very comfortable. Smaller than normal hotel rooms, but that’s to be expected based on the architecture of the building which was fun and beautiful! Bathroom was quite spacious and very nice! Food at Bertie’s was amazing and staff was pleasant and attentive. Definitely worth an “At least once” stay and a great “Step back in time”!
- Philip (4/5): Very disappointed!!! - Maybe our expectations were too high, but we did expect a doorman and bellman service. Valet service was excellent and the valet attendant did provide us with a luggage cart, which we managed with difficulty to maneuver around the VERY small and congested lobby area to the elevator. Our biggest disappointment came when we arrived at our 2nd floor room. We were assigned to a depressing room with one small window and a view of a roof with airconditioners. I had purposefully reserved and paid for the Austin room with three windows. I immediately went down to the desk and inquired if we could be reassigned. I was told no, that they were fully booked. No adjustment would however be made to our rate. We found the front desk staff to be rude and very short with us throughout our stay. No information about the hotel or map of the property was provided. When we inquired later from the giftshop host about the location of the library, she curtly stated it was "for guests only". My husband politely informed her that we were guests and she asked for our room number. We have stayed in many very nice hotels around the world and never been treated so rudely!!! Another issue with the hotel itself, was the total lack of sound proofing between our room and an adjoining room. We could hear their entire conversations and their young, very loud, and crying child. We were made to feel that we needed to whisper for any privacy. It was not the special, relaxing visit that we expected!!!

- Sharon (4/5): - The restaurant staff and mngmnt were not on their game. The bartender Sam was amazing he tried to fux what he could. But at $400. A night you would think yiucould get something other than instant coffee withoit having to pay more .
- Jim (6/5): - The Hotel 1928 was a beautiful hotel and very nice staff, but the location and area around the hotel was not very good and not sure if it was very safe area at night. We were going to walk to the Magnolia Market from the hotel, but it did not seem safe. There were security bars on most buildings and establishments around the hotel.
