Guest Reviews
- Angela (10/5): - Was fabulous
- Nicole (10/5): - Loved everything!
- Bryan (10/5): - It was very convenient restaurant gas station and the cookies at the front desk amazing
- Richard (6/5): - Front desk had no record of my reservation from Expedia although I had a copy of emailed receipt of reservation with confirmation # and payment record. They were able to get me in a room for less than Expedia rate. I will contact Expedia for refund.
- Dale (10/5): Perfect - Very clean and staff was very friendly
- Angelo (10/5): - Great up north feel. Ate one time at the bar and one at the restaurant. Excellent!!!
- Maureen (10/5): - Everyone is helpful and pleasant
- Sharon (10/5): West Branch - Convenient, great food, friendly staff, very helpful, nice room and wonderful pool area.
- Yadira (10/5): - Over all a great stay
- Mike (6/5): - Property was nice. Hot tub only had 3 jets working. Disappointed no breakfast and restrusant didn’t not offer breakfast either. Price was a lot more than super 8 and felt like got more from super 8. Which is where I normally stay, just thought we check out this one.
- Tracy (10/5): - Hotel was very clean and the bed was comfortable.
- Patricia (8/5): - the rooms are clean and comfortable. the staff are very friendly, from the front desk to the restaurant. My only reasons for not giving 5 stars are the lack of a breakfast and not having toiletries, hygiene products, or OTC medicines like acetaminophen or ibuprofen available for purchase. Even a spread of donuts, juice and coffee would be a nice touch in the morning.
- Phillip (8/5): - Property was beautiful. Udated, clean, and a friendly staff
- Erik (10/5): - Was a fun lodgey hotel. Would stay at again. No frills but solid rooms
- Timothy (8/5): - What we did like was the pool/ game room area and the restaurant
- Jay (10/5): - The reception staff are great. The assistant manager is also very nice. The general Manager, well I am still waiting to hear back from him about the restaurant complaint as he oversees the lodge and the restaurant.
The lodge itself is great, although they do advertise a fitness area in the lodge, yet I was unable to find it. The room was very clean and comfortable although there was no coffee maker in the room, they do offer it complimentary in reception and in the vending area.
The lodge also has the Lumber jack restaurant with it. My review is about the lodge and the restaurant review is on Google as a 1 star, I ask you to make your own opinions!
- SUSAN (10/5): - Beautiful place. We like the gift shop and the restaurant too.
- Krysten (10/5): - I love the new refreshed look! Our room was clean and stylish. My only complaint would be the shower door was weird and the floor would get wet. Also the tv remote wouldn't work.
- Matt (10/5): - Great place to stay.
- Kimberly (6/5): Cabin style - Nice, clean, log cabin style hotel. Easy, friendly check-in, plenty of parking. Heated pool w/pool side rooms. Family restaurant w/a full bar. Plenty of souvenir type things to buy along with plenty pictures thatctell the generational story of this hotel.
No in-room coffee, but coffee & tea are available for guests in the lobby.
Overall a nice overnight stay.
- Randal (10/5): Bugs in Hotels.com - Hotels.com reservation system failed and although I had a confirmation number, there were no vacancies at the hotel. With the help of the staff, I was able to locate the only vacancy in the area at a hotel for $60 more per night that was a 40 minute drive, so my vacation wasn't completely ruined.
- Jesse (8/5): Rustic and charming - Quality Inn has a pretty consistent brand, but this location has more rustic charm and character than other Quality Inns. The staff were always friendly, rooms were nice and clean. If you don't like stairs or have a lot of luggage, it would be wise to request a ground floor room when you make the reservation. They do not have an elevator that can handle the luggage cart.
My only disappointment was that the nightly rate was higher than any other Quality Inn I've stayed at before. Usually we just stay at a campground in the area, but this trip was in November and I don't have an RV.
- Robert (8/5): Old but Super Clean - Older hotel but super clean. We do an annual bowling trip to West Branch and the Quality is where we will be staying from now on. Proves it doesn't have to be new to be clean.
- Deb (8/5): - Comfortable with north woods feel. Very nice attached restaurant and friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): My visit - The mattresses in both beds were very worn. The towels were thin and one was stringy when I took a shower. The hallways were like a maze with turns and unlabeled doors I had to go through. With the price I paid, I was expecting more. The hotel behind this one is $35 cheaper with better mattresses and towels. ...and free breakfast.
- Scott (10/5): - The hotel, room, and breakfast was great******
- Eileen (8/5): Great place - Needed a place for one night, very nice..
- Rick (10/5): Work Trip - 2 rooms booked for business all went great hotel was close to our project site
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfortable and clean - very comfortable and clean, nice decor and in line with the area, very spacious, missing mini fridge and microwave
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Enjoyed our stay and room was clean, only problem we had was we were on 2nd floor right next to door to upper level and every time someone came thru door it slammed while we were trying to sleep.
- Diane (8/5): - They need new mattresses! The hotel is nice otherwise.
- global travelle (10/5): Great up north stay - Really clean and nicely furnished room, excellent staff and probably the best bed I have ever slept in.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We where told that the price included taxes but did not.... Extra 11 or so dollars!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely two days, very comfortable and close to everything
- Elmo (8/5): A few nights in West Branch - Basically you have 2 chain hotels right next to each other ,stayed at both, just about the same experience.
Room interior is average, bathroom could use a little more space......over all best place to stay in West Branch
- AMF (10/5): - We booked two rooms for an overnight stay in West Branch. Awesome hotel! Very clean, very spacious, nice pool, great restaurant! Would recommend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was clean. It's located right off the freeway. I didn't use the pool area due to my schedule, but it looked nice.
- Izzy (6/5): A couple nights - served it's purpose for location, restaurant was outstanding, rooms a little dated .
- Ken (6/5): Air conditioning didn't work. - Did not sleep well due to a/c not working very hot in the room. Staff gave us a fan to help but still was really hot.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice hotel - Rooms were good and nice atmosphere. The noise level was very high at night. At check out they didn't even bother to ask how the stay was. Guess they had a good idea already. Definitely over priced. Not a $120 per night hotel.
- Judy (4/5): Ok stay, but dated. - The room was dated and the washroom needed a lot of work. I've paid far less for much better accommodations.
But the location was good re: Outlet Tanger Mall.. So some good shopping.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not worth the money! - The hotel was not worth the money. I would have expected to pay half for what we got. Wasn't able to take a shower before we left the next morning because the hot water wasn't working. The staff was great and friendly but the hotel wasn't all that. The pool area was the nicest part of the stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Stay. Enjoy the hotel. - It was a nice stay. Staff was GREAT! There's nothing left to say.....
- Gary (8/5): I would stay again - Well kept Hotel. The pool and hot tub were an added bonus, as was the seating area poolside. Unfortunately, the food at the accompanying restaurant, The Lumberjack, was less than pleasing.
- Karen (10/5): Very impressed with this hotel - We were not sure what we were going to get at this hotel.
Not all of the reviews were good, but in this area we didn’t have many options.
I am so glad we choose this hotel. Not sure why anyone would have an issue with this hotel. The beds were great, room was nice, and we had no complaints. We had family that stayed at the other hotels and I can tell you that they were not happy at all, even tried to move to our hotel.
We also really enjoyed the restaurant, food was wonderful. try the fried pickles and Ruben.
- Christa (10/5): Very nice - worth the money - We really enjoyed our time at the hotel. Great restraunt attached. Only recommendation for them is to carpet the floors that go from the pool area to the rooms. Very slippery!!! Otherwise, fantastic.
- Jim (4/5): A bit dated. - Not too many hotels to choose from in the West Branch Michigan area. Upon arrival I found the desk staff to be somewhat unprofessional. I was surprised by the desk lady loudly complaining on the phone about some guest. Guy in front of me was looking for a room. Hotel was filled so she told him to look at the place next door. It would have been nice had she made a courtesy phone call for him. Hotel had a northern michigan, logging town theme; which I found to be somewhat dated and tacky. Lots of local teens running around making noise (Friday night). Local authorities were prowling around looking for someone in the hotel. Room was a very average hotel room. Seemed fairly clean, but could have used some updating. Beds were not particularly comfortable. No breakfest, but there was a restauraunt physically attached to the hotel. On the second day I found my card key was deactivated (I had two nights booked). It took 3 trips to the desk to get that fixed. Overall, not a horrible place to stay. I would choose a more updated place had one been available. Not particularly a good value either.
