- Stella (8/5): - 2 men on reception are friendly. Good selection of breakfast and tasted very nice. Our room was a twin. Cleanliness of the room wasnt the best as there was dust on skirting boards and on the bedside table..did not complain as still enjoyed our time. Hotel needs updating in many areas however it mustve been a spectacular building in its time. Definitely would stay again..

- Kevin (8/5): Average hotel with good breakfast - The information on hotel.com needs updating.The checkout time is 1030 not 11 and the breakfast is 0800 until 0930 not 0730 The hotel gave us an upgrade to a balcony room which was appreciated.

The 'touch screen' door lock new system is a hugely improved facility, helpful to the resident as well as safety and number control for the hotel.
- Jenny (6/5): - Didn’t get our keys until 4.20, and when we went to our room it was as the last people had left it. Beds unmade, dirty cups etc. a guy said he would get it done immediately, so we left our cases and went for a walk. When we returned it was ok, but the bathroom could have been cleaner. The staff were very pleasant, but the whole place needed a good clean.

- NEETA (6/5): Not bad for a 2* - cleaning an issue - It's not bad for a 2*, however the building needs a total refurbishment. It's a beautiful hotel, but It’s tired, old and needs a total makeover. The room i stayed it was dirty and covered in cobwebs and had one plug - thank god i travel with a extension wire. Bed was comfortable, and I had a hot shower although i founds hairs in the bath. Breakfast was amazing and staff friendly! Location is amazing. If they stay on top their cleaning, and carry out the refurbishment they can hit the 4* mark.
- Ross (4/5): - The Hotel was comfortable and clean enough, but for the price I paid, I expected a much higher level of service and catering. The breakfast was very disappointing, and felt more like a transport café than breakfast at a hotel charging nearly £200 a night.

- Malcolm (8/5): - Breakfast was all in the price. And the bar was open when we got back from the show. It seemed that the hotel was run on a shoestring. Staff were working 12+ hour shifts and the one person was covering all tasks. For example, upon check in the man at reception, by himself, had to check guests in, answer the phone, serve at the bar meaning that paying people were waiting longer than necessary. At checkout, again one lady having to sort queries, take any payments, check guests out and answer the telephone (which is why one cannot get an answer when ringing the hotel direct).

- Archie (4/5): - Old and outdated, most things are battered and breaking. Carpet is ripped, shower curtains discoloured, paint stained and old. The staff were lovely, just let down by the building.

- Victoria (8/5): - Beautiful old building, great location and good breakfast. Friendly staff. Downsides were the shower curtain was tired/old/dirty and the towel rail was on/hot in the height of summer with no ability to turn it off. This felt like a waste and bad for the environment as well as heating the room up when it wasn't needed. Also the shower temperature could not be changed, so it was cold for ages then very hot, with no ability to do anything about this!

- Emily (6/5): Too busy to accommodate - I was really looking forward to my stay at the Skegness The Royal Hotel, unfortunately I don't think they properly accommodate people with gluten intolerance/Coeliac disease. Despite emailing the hotel ahead of time to confirm the availability of gluten-free options for breakfast, I was treated with some hostility when asking for gluten-free toast and there was never gluten-free sausages available. We visited in June, perhaps out of season, but the hotel was fairly busy and it seemed like staff were overrun. A decent price for the room and a great location, I think this hotel has a lot of potential but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with any allergies or additional needs.

- Keith (8/5): - Location was very good, short walk to the clock tower and shops. Staff were brilliant. Check in was smooth and we managed to get into the room a little early. The room (we stayed in 319) was as described, it had a very big balcony with a view to the sea. The bathroom was quite small but we could live with that to have the balcony and views. The food was excellent, we booked bed and breakfast but also had a dinner in. Breakfast was buffet style. The dinner menu gave a reasonable choice of items. Whilst the stay was value for money and we would stop here again, purely for the above reasons, the hotel in general was in need of some work to bring it back to it's former glory.

Paid an extra 80 pounds uplift for view , expecting sea view but got a view of a shed! Room clean was poor, bed hardly made up and coffee cup not replaced and no coffee sachet refil.
- Mark (2/5): Avoid its worn out. - Cramped and scruffy room with tea srains on the skirting and a very poor shower. Breakfast was inedible everything was tough being pre cooked and stoid in warmers. Staff unhelpful.

- Sylvia (2/5): - There was dried poo on the floor, a plastic bag over the fire alarm in our room , seen better views on a building site , bed to small ,couldn't see to make a drink no lamp the only seat in the room was old and unsafe , the tv was very small and blurred , no Wf , the sad thing is had been 5 times before and had good rooms but it was disgusting this time , did offer to pay an up grade but told didn't have znymore rokms but know full well the 2 rooms opposite us were empty the 3 nights we were there , will not go there again and this is the first yime and last we will use your company, we usually go away up to 6 times a year so very upsetting

- Paula (6/5): - Hotel was ok,we arrived on 03/09/25 and dropped bags of and went straight out so didn’t use the bathroom till the next morning ,it didn’t look like it had been cleaned the sink was very dirty,I went to put something in the bin in the bathroom and it was completely full off (used sanitary towels) it made me feel sick and couldn’t go down and eat breakfast so ate out.not good.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointed overnight stay - Real shame that this hotel has gone downhill, stayed overnight and was very disappointed in the condition of our room, our door lock was broken, so was given a key? To our amazement we could lock from outside but not inside? We had a tiny bolt to ensure no one walked in. The bed was ok comfortable, bathroom needed updating, shower screen not clean, mould & flaky paint, nice spider & silver fish in bath Breakfast however was good, and staff polite, helpful, apart from milk jugs left on tables, milk was off Overall disappointing :(
