• Alan (10/5): - Place was nice and clean. Would recommend to others.
• Tri (4/5): - Moldy-smell in the bedroom. Toilet bowl started to smell in the evening. Lumpy mattress. Grass was not cut. Lobster cages pilling up in front porch. Unattractive view to a repaired ship and old ship yard. TiVi did not working properly; have to call twice to get it fix. Instructions to the rental unit was not sent out prior to arrival date. Recommendation: Expedia needs to improve the screening process to ensure the quality of the rental properties is as listed in order not to diminish customers’ confidence. Some Pictures of the property are not the true reflection of the conditions of the rooms.
• Pei (8/5): - No front office, should have been sent a message the day before for check in instructions. Property should have WhatsApp app for contact. International travelers may have trouble calling local numbers.
• David (6/5): - Honestly not our favourite accommodations. Not terrible, just not great. We couldn’t decide if the view of the wharf from ground level was cool or if it felt like sitting in an industrial area. The bathroom fan and water pump were loud, the door didn’t close well, and the bed was not terribly comfortable. It was in walking distance to lots of restaurants and the wharf, and for one night it was ok but I wouldn’t recommend it for any longer than that.

• RAYMOND (6/5): - When we arrived at La Digue there was nobody around to check us in and we had not received any notification about checking in so i had to ring the number on the sign to find out which room was allocated to us. The room was unlocked with the key inside and when we entered the room we were greeted by 4 flies in the room. This was definitely not a suite as advertised but a room with a small couch and a fridge and is definitely over priced for what you get. The location is good as it's close to a couple of restaurants and a Pub.

The owner upgraded us to a bigger suite and was very responsive to calls. The suites are nice and clean. Several good restaurants in walking distance.

Also we could hear everything that the people in the suite above us did. Every step. Every trip to the washroom. Was close to the national park and about 20 min from skyline trail

• Lorena (10/5): - What a hidden gem. We had the suite on the main floor and it was fantastic. Huge living room kitchen area and then a separate room with a king size bed. It doesn't look like much from the outside but fantastic suite. Would highly recommend. Plus, head to The Doryman for dinner...the food was great.

Proprios pas très proactifs: pas d'eau fournie lors d'une panne de courant qui a durée plus de 5 heures. Étant donnée que l'eau du bâtiment est pompée électroniquement nous n'avons pas eu d'eau durant 5 heures.

• Rod (6/5): - Great spot! I wish i could have given it a 5 all around...but, I see in another review someone mentioning a mold like smell. Should have been a heads up for the owner but sadly it smelled during our stay too. Wet towels placed over the sink and shower drain helped. Daytime we were able to open the windows full but being on the ground floor we chose to lock them at night. Time for some maintenence on those for sure. Other than that everything went wonderful.
• Mahesh (2/5): - Horrible experience. We paid for a premium suite facing the water and when we showed up, someone else was in it. We were offered a smaller room with NO kitchen which we reserved for. We had fresh produce we had throw away. We were told this never happens and then we saw a log book where guests fill out their experience and it happened to someone else too recently. The bathroom became clogged and water stopped running. Either these owners are incompetent or they are baiting and switching on people because of demand and limited availability.
• Danielle (2/5): - This is the ugliest and most dreadful spot in Cheticamp. This “hotel” sits at the bottom of a hill in a dusty parking lot facing working pier. There are bright lights on all night and by 4;30 am you can hear the beeping on the pier. There is no office. You call to check in. The tell you you “suite” and it’s unlock. There is a sign telling you if you use a glass or cup to wash it and put it away but there is no dish soap. The bed sheets are old and thin. This is not the place you want to stay when visiting beautiful Cape Breton.

She answered all of our questions, helped me find a car service in the area and then checked back to make sure everything went well. Hotel was clean and comfortable and the location to the harbour was great for my boys!!!

It was also conveniently close to the Skyline Trail, which was one of the main reasons we chose this property. The room itself was small, but this was expected as the square footage was clearly advertised. My only concern was with the sofa bed. It made a screeching noise whenever my son moved, which made it a bit difficult for him to sleep comfortably. It seems that the metal frame of the bed might be quite old or possibly loose.

The noise from the room over us also kept everyone awake until midnight. I don’t know why there are so many good reviews. Perhaps some of the rooms are larger/ better than ours was.

After spending several days on the Cabot Trail in places which looked better on line then in real life we were thrilled to see it looks even better then the pictures!!! So clean, up to date furnishings, vinyl flooring(not carpet!), large screen tv and more! And they have thought of everything to make things comfortable. Extra pillows and blankets, toiletries, Keurig machine with take away cups or real mugs to cozily sit on outdoor furniture with a hot drink. They even have a binder with menus local restaurants and some tourism flyers! I wish i could have stayed an extra night!!

• Katherine (8/5): - This was a more rugged suite, compared to what we were used to. It was comfortable, and we were happy to have a working A/C for sleeping. The bed was comfy and clean, however we booked a suite with a sofa bed because we were travelling with 3 adults (which our booking stated). When we arrived, the sofa bed wasn’t equipped with bedding. In hindsight, I should have communicated with the host before our arrival to ensure there was bedding for the sofa bed. We made due with what we could find, but if you book a suite with a sofa bed and plan to use it, I encourage you to send a message ahead of time to make sure there are clean sheets and pillows. Bathroom was mostly clean, but did not have toiletries available. We did enjoy our stay, but we weren’t quite as impressed as we were with our other accommodations along the Cabot Trail. It was a charming, affordable, option.
• Wei (8/5): - No shampoo or shower gel. Room was very clean and very nice view of harbor. Since it is a small town, there are limited options of restaurants.

• Natalie (4/5): - Got there and even though the room door was unlocked, there was no key for the room. Then when I called owners to tell them they said they would be right over. Only after calling again did they show up after 20 minutes of waiting. Then there were quite a number of flies in the room. The fold out bed had a thin mattress and squeaked when moving in the bed. The bathroom door squeaked loudly if you open and closed it fully. There only one Keureg pod for coffee so we couldn't make coffee for us all. One good thing was owners gave an extensive list of restaurants with menus and the restaurants were mainly in walking distance. FYI, the place is right on a working fishing dock.
• Lisa (6/5): - The room felt very damp and the air condition did not work so it was crazy hot. The beds were not that comfortable either. It was very well located in the town though so that was good.
• Andrew (4/5): - The Island View suite was supposed to be non-smoking but had a lingering odour of stale cigarette smoke and damp. The sink was almost completely plugged. The buildings heat exchangers were located against the exterior wall and were noisy until midnight. No insulation between the neighbouring suite as I listened to a complete phone conversation the occupant was having. Room is very tired.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Good place to stay - It's a good place to stay for a family. The location is very convenient to restaurants, grocery store and laundry service. Rooms are big and clean, beds are very comfortable.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Not impressed at all - Maybe this is the price for the area but $220 for this place is just crazy expensive for what you get. It’s pretty much like someone’s basement renovated to a place you can live. Tiny bathroom. Tiny bed and the whole place is just old and not clean.

• Brent (10/5): - A cozy spot on the water in a working harbor provides a truely unique experience. Check is is super easy with Expedia. Very clea. And comfortable a d walkable to most everything in this charming and authentic little fishing village.
• Mirna (8/5): Ok for overnight stay - Good enough to sleep and shower (overnight stay). More expensive than the walk in rate at other lodges but at least it guarantees you accommodation. Convenient location within walking distance to cafes and restaurants.

You don't really "check out" but simply leave the door unlocked and the key inside hanging on the wall. The room was clean and fine but that process just had us feeling a little nervous when we first checked in.
