• Michal (10/5): This beautiful place and the wonderful people who run it were a highlight of my trip. - Wonderful people. Beautiful place. Good location. The beds are solid, do they don’t make a ton of noise when you climb to the top bunk. Extended my stay thanks to the great impression of this place. The only downside would be that you cannot leave your car directly next to the property.

• ANTONIO A DE (8/5): Good value for money. - The place is clean, comfortable, and organized. It has sturdy bunk beds, and the mattresses, sheets, and pillows are comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped and organized. The kitchen was sometimes a little noisy because there was a group talking a bit louder during the night, which is tolerable and common when there are many people gathered, especially young people, but overall the experience was satisfactory. I recommend the place. The location is in the upper part of the city, which can be uncomfortable for some people to walk to due to the steep hills. It wasn't a problem for me, but I think it's something to consider, as is the fact that it gets a bit noisy when young people are gathered in the kitchen. For me, these two aspects weren't a problem, but if anyone is bothered by either of them, it's good to consider.

• Ashnicolex (9/5): Brilliant Place to Stay! - Lovely staff, really informative and kind. The hostel Backpackers was clean, comfortable and nice inside and out. Absolutely brilliant location - close to bus stops, Cuba Street, good eateries and has all you could need in the Backpackers. A fully functional kitchen, a lounge where you can chill with your buddies, board games to play, a nice outdoor deck. I also like the fact they had a female only bathroom downstairs. The showers were excellent, too! The bedroom I stayed in didn't have a lock that worked on the door, which was a bit concerning. I don't love that.

• Stephanie (9/5): Great location, room and value for money - definitely recommend - We only stayed overnight so didn't use the kitchen or common lounge facilities. We had a private Queen bed room and used the shared bathrooms. The bathrooms were clean with good shower pressure/ hot water. Bedroom also had a sink which is useful. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. We didn't actually meet any staff, but also didn't need too as everything was straightforward. Super-central but quiet location. Recommend and would stay again. We didn't use the outside courtyard, but even a very minimal spruce up/ clean of that area would make a huge overall difference to the impression you get walking in or how inviting it would feel to use that area. We didn't come by car, but if you do, be aware that parking is very limited/ nil. You can walk everywhere from here so car not really needed anyway.

• Julien (10/5): Nice and cosy place, the owner came by to present himself, and it was a good experience overall. - That was a nice and quiet place with the possibility to meet new people. It is well situated for someone looking for a quiet place. It is close to amenities. The big table for eating is not really convenient, people sitting at the extremities have to stand up to leave access to the window side.

• Lucia (7/5): El lugar es muy lindo y tiene todo lo necesario, pero deberían cuidar más la limpieza. - La ubicación del lugar es exelente. En las reglas de convivencia alegan que a las 8am ya podés comenzar a hacer ruido, pero no indican a qué hora tenes que dejar de hacerlo. Por lo que al ir solo por el fin de semana dormí muy mal, ya que 4am seguían habiendo bastantes ruidos en el Hostel. Y por otra parte, dejan todo en manos de quienes se hospedan, debería haber alguien en recepción.
• Carolina (3/5): Good amenities but not for resting - The room was ok and the place looks very clean all day. The kitchen is really big and has everything you need. The staff is not there from 6pm until next morning. Even though there are plenty of rules and they are all written on the wall, since the staff is not there at night we couldn’t sleep due to annoying guests running through the halls, shouting out loud at 2am, jumping from the stairs, loud talking and the list go on. If you are trying to find a place to have a good sleep and rest, this is definitely not the place for you.
• Desiree (10/5): Feels like home - Es ist ein sehr süßes altes Gebäude mit hohen Decken. Die Einrichtung ist passed zu dem Stil ausgewählt worden. Besonders beeindruckend fanden wir die extrem gut bestückte und organisierte Küche! Da es einige sehr sinnvolle Regeln gibt ist es ruhig und angenehm in dieser Jugendherberge. Wenn wir nicht weiter fahren hätten müssen währen wir sehr gerne noch geblieben. Es gibt einen Stolperstein unter dem Teppich in der Küche. Da hab ich mir ein paar mal den Fuß gestoßen. Aber sonst muss man einfach auch bedenken, dass es eine Jugendherberge ist und kein 5 Sterne Hotel.

• Johanna (7/5): Ok pour un passage rapide - - La localisation, proche de toutes les commodités - La literie très confortable - Le fait d’avoir une prise à côté du lit - Propriétaire agréable - Dortoir de 6 minuscule, en arrivant, c’était le bazar : des affaires qui traînaient partout. Je ne savais pas où mettre ma valise. Chambre quelque peu étouffante car trop les uns sur les autres. - La petite lumière au dessus de chaque lit, il n’y a aucun rideau pour camoufler l’éclairage donc quand une personne allume en pleine nuit ça réveille toute le monde. - La salle de bain minuscule, obligée la plupart du temps de poser ses affaires à même le sol

Pleasant and clean rooms. - Not noisy in the evening. - Well-equipped and clean kitchen. - Great location in the city centre. - Friendly but calm atmosphere. No parties in the evening. It’s easy to chat with everyone there. - The owners, Andrew and Wendy, are very welcoming.

• Helena Annie (9/5): Great, cosy hostel tucked away in the middle of Welly! - Great, cosy hostel experience in a restored villa. The room was nicely decorated, comfortable, clean and the shared spaces were welcoming and well maintained. No convenient parking nearby but otherwise no complaints.

• Jäger (6/5): - Nett eingerichtetes Hostel, was auch drauf ausgelegt ist die Leute für längere Zeit zu beherbergen. Die Küche ist geräumig und gut ausgestattet. Generell war es sauber und ordentlich. Etwas mehr Toiletten wären super gewesen. Und leider hat unser Raum im Untergeschoss sehr abgestanden und leicht schimmlig gerochen, was sehr unangenehm war. V.a. haben all unsere Sachen diesen Geruch angenommen:(

Doesn't provide soap. Others can make the stay not as good because of inappropriate behaviour, but not the place's fault.

• Jade (8/5): Nice budget stay close to the city center - Convenient location close to Willis St. Well equipped kitchen. Clean sanitary facilities. Last but not least, Andrew and Wendy were very kind. It is a small hostel with a very friendly vibe and even a family atmosphere. It can be very chilly especially in the rooms, I think it’s because insulation is not the best. But the quilt was warm enough and I slept like a baby once in my bed :) We could use curtains on the beds for a bit of privacy.

• Thayanne (5/5): Passable - The room was ok, but the guests made noise at night and insisted to keep the door opened, even though I was already sleeping. The buildings around make noise at night as well, so it was not comfortable to sleep. The rest was very fair considering the cost.

• Maria (7/5): Good - Finding a parking is an absolute mission, unfortunately. We spend almost 1 hour trying to find a spot. Also, didn't know that our private room would be outside the building, which was a bit dissapointing, but ok.. The newly renovated Ladies bathroom was beautiful, nice choice of tiles though. Water pressure and temperature are changing depending if someone else next door is showering as well. Overall an alright place to stay if you don't have a car with you to park.

• Freya (9/5): Great! - We had such a lovely stay at Worldwide Backpackers. We had a private room that was very clean and a super comfy bed, we slept SO well!! The owners Wendy and Andrew were both super nice. The other guests staying here were a little standoffish, but not much the owners can do about that. Overall a very nice stay!

• Claudia (7/5): Good stay for a couple of nights but it’s more of a party hostel - Andrew and Wendy were very nice and helpful. The bathrooms were very clean and modern which we appreciated it. Room was good too, spacious and it had a lot of hangers. The location was great too and we were lucky finding a spot in the coupon parking area nearby. Our private room was next to the hostel main building, in the front-yard, where people smoked so each time we had to go to the kitchen and bathroom we had to go through the smoke. I’m pretty sensitive to fumes and I woke up coughing because the smoke leaks into the room. It says this is a “Non-smoking throughout” accommodation but that’s not really true when there are smokers around so I would have liked if this was made it clearer. Also, as other reviewers mentioned, the walls are thin and people were loud. Even with earplugs, we could hear the music and people’s conversations. Luckily, they stopped at around 11pm (quiet time starts at 10:30pm) but we had to catch an early ferry so it was a bit annoying.

• Franco (8/5): Affordable, great location, and met some great people! - Great amenities at this hostel - we made great use of the industrial sized kitchen facilities, and the kitchen was large enough that many groups were able to cook at the same time. We upgraded to a private room, which was spacious, quiet and had our own sink so we didn't need to leave to brush our teeth or wash our face. The shared bathrooms were cleaned regularly so were always in a good condition. We liked the availability of laundry machines as well.

• Jessica (6/5): Pleasant - Large kitchen and lots of communal areas, can tell that people staying long term have had good space to get to know each other. Lots of bathrooms so you're never waiting on them. Great location near the city centre. Reception was only open until 2pm on the weekend which meant that quiet hours weren't reinforced at all - if anything I think it was actually louder after 10:30pm, with people coming in and out of my (4 bed!) dorm constantly. Dorm was also a real mess, I think there were long termers staying there who just had everything everywhere - this could easily be solved with lockets for each person. Also not plug sockets for ever bed.

• Michelle (9/5): Awesome location, clean and comfortable. - Fantastic location in the city center but on a quiet side street. Bed was huge and very comfortable, furnishings in the room were more like a fancy B&B than a hostel! Very clean. I didn't use the kitchen but it looked like all of the food storage was chocker, it could be a struggle to find space to store your food and I imagine peak cooking times are super busy.
• Laura (7/5): homely but loud - great location, equal distance to Kelburn and downtown/Cuba St, check-in/out procedure was very easy, felt like living in a comfy, typical Wellington house for a few days the people living there long-term seemed to be very close, and you could definitely connect with other travelers here that also means, however, that it was quite loud at night and the walls are really thin - sleeping on a top bunk downstairs, I could hear noise from the lounge right above me (TV, music, people walking/talking) until late at night the room was also quite small, leading to some awkward shuffling around if more than one person was in the room
• Delia (7/5): Smaller, comfortable hostel - Rooms are clean and cozy. Kitchen is cleaned every day, though of course you have to wash up your own dishes. Nice community area, even with small front terrace. Seems ideal for longer stays. Soundproofing of the house isn't optimal, so bring earplugs.

• Floris (6/5): Pleasant - The location is nice, and the atmosphere is quite nice as well. Toilets and showers were clean! The provided sheets were not all clean, I found hairs and other small things on them - it was clear that the sheet had not been replaced since a previous guest. Room was quite cold and a bit noisy in the morning.
