Guest Reviews
- Jacob (7/5): River lodge was nice, the pool, bar, & little yard area outside of the room exceeded expectations. - Shower water pressure was okay and the way the toilet seat was put in the toilet didn’t allow for one to keep the seat up while trying to use it
- Mo (8/5): -
- Cecily (10/5): - The rooms were just the right size. The bed was extremely comfy. The set up of the grounds was perfect for our dog. The staff was very helpful.
- Andrew (9/5): -
- Masha (9/5): Beautiful & comfortable - Loved the bespoke feel & beautiful pool area. Would have loved a candle from the minibar but $40. To expensive. All great except for the possibly drunk person who tried to get into our room at about 11 pm. Ruined our sleep but not your fault Stated above
- Kara (10/5): Oasis - So gorgeous with attention to every detail. A true oasis. Pool just the right soothing temperature. We had our small dog and great property for him.
- Courtnay (10/5): -
- LARRY (9/5): - We love the bar at the pool.
- Dawn (10/5): - A beautifully renovated and well designed getaway in the heart of Paso. I love this place, and the pool and restaurant so much, I’ll definitely be back!
- phayny (10/5): - I only wish there was slippers in the room bc the carpet felt unclean. Other then that it was perfect!
- Jiean (10/5): - The property was cute and clean. We really enjoyed our stay.
- Megan (10/5): - River Lodge lives up to the hype!! They have thought of everything. The design is gorgeous, the bed is super comfy, and the pool is fantastic. My pup enjoyed her time there, too. With the front yard and grassy areas, it was super easy to have her along for the relaxing weekend.
- Annie (10/5): - Lovely pet friendly accommodations. The property is so cute and feels like a piece of genuine Americana. Close to downtown Paso Robles for dining, shopping and tasting rooms. Would love to stay here again!
- Dawn (10/5): - River Lodge is a very thoughtfully designed property. The pool is everything! Can’t wait to go back!
- Lisa (10/5): - Great Motel, with outstanding character. Highly recommended.
- Ruth (10/5): - Great
- Melissa (10/5): - We had a wonderful time. Food was great, room was clean and comfortable.
- Hector (10/5): - The pool and the rooms are great. No need to leave for anything but dinner. Lunch is great there. The dinner could be separated from pool and spruced up to match the rest of the hotel! But it’s a go for me!
- Arwel (10/5): -
- Eric (10/5): - very nicely decorated
- Erica (10/5): Will go back, for sure! - Amazing!
A hidden little Gem in Paso!
- Lynsey (9/5): -
- Justine (10/5): - Great property, fun vibe, after a day of wine tasting, we loved relaxing at the pool with some delicious food and live music!
- Pete (10/5): Quiet, laid-back, modern and nostalgic at the same time. Perfect getaway - Chill atmosphere, nicely decorated, very unique
- Brittain (6/5): Mediocre at best. - The grounds. The bar staff was very friendly. The bed was comfortable. The toilet seat was so loose that it was dangerous. The fact that you don’t have breakfast, there is a negative. Finding the entrance to the motel was a challenge.
- Elijah (10/5): - Beautiful property. Very well kept. The rooms are very nice.
- Susie (10/5): A Great Find in Paso for Dog Friendly and Comfort! - There was no breakfast available on a Tuesday morning, but good coffee service in the lobby which was great. And recommendations for local breakfasts was great: we went to the Kitchenette in Templeton - a fantastic breakfast place! Hmmmm - not much - we were really happy!
- Renee (10/5): - The staff and service was incredible! Restaurant on site was wonderful. The pool and entire vibe of this hotel was unique and fantastic. Definitely returning!
- Lorenz (8/5): Great place to stay for a short time in paso - Very well designed and maintained comfy rooms. Beautiful pool. Location by the freeway and lackluster staff
- Angie (10/5): -
- kelly (10/5): - We loved the property!! Clean, friendly, nice pool!!
- Margaret (10/5): Really fun place to spend a few nights. - Really enjoyed it here. Pool and pool service was wonderful. Hot tub was great. Loved little patios and yards with hammocks in front of everyone. Other guests were really nice. Rooms were a little small but not bad. Food was a little limited and pricey in restaurant. But really none of these things mattered that much.
- Laura (10/5): Loved our first trip to Paso Robles and our stay at our new fave hotel! - The location was perfect! We were right down the street from multiple wineries, and shops. Downtown area was just a short drive away. Our room was beautiful and clean! This will be our place every time we visit Paso Robles.
- Denise (10/5): - We had such a good time at the River Lodge! When we pulled into the parking lot, we weren't sure what we had gotten ourselves into, but once we entered the gate, it was like an oasis. The pool is beautiful, the restaurant was good, and the room was very comfortable. We had a nice mattress and pillows, soft towels, a fireplace, and a smart TV. We will be staying there again on our next trip to Paso Robles.
- Charles (9/5): Superb - Was a great property and the staff was very friendly; I would highly recommend it.
- Yuridia (10/5): - Love that it's adults only!!!
- Sangmin (9/5): Great for a few days of relaxing stay by the pool. - The room was spacious and clean; pool was great. Food and beverage availability was convenient. Parking was tight. And outside of the downtown area.
- Yimin (9/5): Superb -
- Rene (10/5): - This place made such a great base for exploring Paso wine country. Not a whole lot within walking distance but downtown, tin city and lots of wineries within a quick drive.
Great pool, bar & wonderful staff. Rooms are comfortable, stylish & well appointed. Will definitely stay here again!
- lisa (10/5): - Super cute and fun
- Kendra (10/5): - Everyone was friendly!! Amazing service from check-in to the pool bar to the restaurant!! Will definitely be back
- Bobbie (10/5): - My fiancé and I booked this hotel very last minute and didn’t know what to expect. Well, it exceeded anything we could have dreamed. The property is well maintained, pool to die for, and who doesn’t love a poolside bar/restaurant? We definitely will be back.
- Steve (10/5): Excellent stop off point or great for a stay while wine tasting in the area - Friendly staff, great pool area relaxed room with cottage garden area Toilet paper a little cheap!
- Emily (10/5): Favorite new Paso Spot! - We loved our stay at the river Lodge! It is the cutest boutique hotel. I’ve stayed at in a long time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Love the pool set up in the center of the motel. The grounds were gorgeous, and we loved having a hammock outside our patio.
- Rachel (10/5): - perfect location, wonderful central pool area, and great pool bar. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
- Cathy (10/5): - Love this place! We can’t wait to return
- Jocelyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (10/5): - Literally one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at super nice clean everybody’s super helpful just a beautiful hotel only thing that kind of sucked is that you do have to pay $35 dollars if you for forget your dogs bowl to eat or drink they do charge you $35 Instead of just giving it to you which kinda of sucked. They do give you a little bag with two treats and a ball for them. Just a little pricey in my opinion. So don’t forget it. But other than that Five stars all around. ☺️
- krystal (10/5): - Came on Easter for the brunch and a one night stay. The rooms are absolutely adorable as well as the pool area! Food was subpar for the price, but everything else was amazing !
- Krista (10/5): What a Gem! - I love this place! I really didn't know what to expect but it is truly lovely.
It is pretty close to the 101 and you can hear the road a little when in the Pool area but it was not enough to be off putting and all the charm of the Hotel makes up for it.
I will for sure be staying here again next time I am in the area!
- Martha (9/5): Lounge by the pool or your personal rose-lined front yard. - What a wonderful surprise. This redone motel is great - each room has its own little rose-lined yard, the rooms are nicely decorated, and the pool/bar area feels resort-like. I highly recommend it for adults.
- Dale (10/5): - It is a very unique property and it is dog friendly
- Zenia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ryan (10/5): - We went for my birthday and it was awesome. Pool area was incredible, rooms were designed super cool. The grounds are clean and have a cool vibe!
- JULIE (10/5): - Cool property! Rooms nice and great pool area!
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kyla (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christa (10/5): - The property was amazing. This is my new favorite place to stay when I'm in Paso robles
- Elisa (10/5): - The front desk staff were so nice and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back to stay here again
- Laura (10/5): - A new gem in the area! Clean and modern rooms. Great pool and lobby area. Easy parking and convenient location to Paso Robles activities.
- Edward (9/5): Superb -
- Julia (10/5): - What a quaint stay in Paso!! Rooms were the perfect size and loved the outdoor sitting area that each room had. Loved the fact that there is a bar and restaurant on property and the coffee and tea that are available in the lobby in the morning. Can’t wait to stay here again.
- Erin (10/5): Book for aesthetics, stay for EVERYTHING - We knew about this hotel through Nomada partners. Their sister Hotel is in Los Alamos and we were keen to stay at one of the properties. The aesthetics alone are enough to make anyone swoon. Check in was super easy and the hotel staff was very nice, informative, and accommodating. The ammenities & products felt so luxurious, clean, and thought of to every last detail. The food at Ciao Papi is some of the best in Paso Robles. We live in Sonoma County and have had really great fresh food and this was some of the best pizza by far. We cancelled plans for one of our days just to lay poolside! Pet friendly for a much more affordable fee than a lot of other hotels in downtown Paso, and you can even have them in the pool area on a leash. We also thought it would be loud being so close to Highway 101 and Hwy 46, but it was VERY quiet and we all got the best nights sleep. Will most definitely be staying again.
- Berger (10/5): Can’t wait to come back. This is one of the most comfortable and well conceived boutique hotels I’ve stayed in - ADORABLE and so thoughtfully designed! It is a VIBE. It’s a motel but feels like a modern resort. My only “note” is I wish the yards in front of each unit had a closure so my pup could be off leash in our area while we were in the room.
- Alexa (10/5): Super. Ute getaway - I love the properties this company owns and this was so different - such a cute property. Also, the staff was so friendly! And don’t sleep on the salami plate at Ciao Papi!
- Melody (10/5): Beautiful! - This property is beautiful! We have stayed at other Nomad properties and this is the best by far. Rooms are very nicely decorated and spacious. The pool area and grounds are very pretty and makes you want to stay on the property. Great food and drinks onsite so you don't have to leave if you don't want to. (hope they are able to maintain/sustain) the quality of the food, drinks, etc. as the property gets older. Staff is very friendly and accommodating! We are looking forward to our next visit.
- Candice (10/5): - What a wonderful, quaint, and cute place! The customer service is next level, and the property is awesome. Great pool, fire pits, a bar and a restaurant. Location is great with quick on and off the 101, and near all the wieners. Rooms are spacious the bedding was so nice. Will always stay in when in Paso.
- Kristin (10/5): Fantastic stay! - Loved our stay! The decor, friendly staff and fun vibe made it a memorable stay!
- Anthony (10/5): - Always perfect
- Pam (10/5): - What a wonderful property. We loved it there. Would gladly stay there every time I’m in the Paso area!!!
- Rachel (10/5): Fabulous newly renovated Motel! - Super cute hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The pool area is done so well and the pool bar was fantastic. Our favorite part was the awesome bartender!
- NICHOLAS (10/5): Very hip stylish remodeled motel. - absolutely fantastic property, very stylish. Must’ve cost a fortune to remodel. Lovely comfortable bed and furniture. Outside landscaping is fantastic. I would suggest having your AirPods on hand, as the freeway noise might be annoying if by the pool, but it would soon become background noise. It’s an incredible place and highly recommend. !
- Amy (10/5): Stylish immaculately clean dog friendly gem in Paso. - Super cute style, very fresh. Dog friendly. Great little lawns in front of the rooms. Restaurant was delicious. Can’t wait to go back when it’s warmer to enjoy the pool.
- Joel (10/5): It was a great find. We loved our stay, and I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to the area. - Completely redone and refreshed.
- Kat (10/5): Perfect place to stay in Paso Robles with your furry friend! - I absolutely loved this cute little motel/inn. What a special treat. I booked last min as a pit stop on my way up north. River Lodge is an absolute gem. Not only is the property beautiful, but the staff was extremely friendly. The rooms were immaculate and the bed extra comfy. And the pool area, totally gorgeous. If you're traveling with a dog, this is the PERFECT place for them. Each room has a little grass front patio plus there is 2 other larger grass areas on the property. And they are allowed anywhere on the property with you. I'll def be back often, it's such a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a weekend. I can't wait to spend more time here!
- Christian (6/5): - This is a beautiful property, but right next to freeway so you need to accept freeway noise in the pool area which we found stressful. Would be 5 star property without the noise from the freeway.
- Jasmine (10/5): - Very cute, right off the freeway and next to a big shopping center just outside of the main part of town.
The hot tub was great, cute little hammocks on each rooms yard. Felt like a cute little Mexico or palm springs resort
- Jaime (10/5): Great Stay! Will stay again. - Great Stay! Will stay again.
- Frederic (10/5): Superb little retro motel stay in Paso Robles - The decor was splendid, the staff super nice, the rooms beautiful, the beds comfortable, the pool amazing, the food at the restaurant great. Would definitely stay again next time we are in the area. Thank you! Nothing.
- LARRY D (10/5): - We loved the retro look that it had. Great bed, pillows and bedding. Landscaping and pool area were just my style.
- ANGELA (10/5): - The stay was excellent. The property is not walkable but it is very relaxing. Just a short drive into Templeton for shopping and coffee.
- Yoanha (10/5): - Amazing experience and staff.
- Amicia18 (8/5): Good location and definitely would be a great spot to stay during warmer months to enjoy the pool. - Design in room and easy parking. The restaurant onsite is a perk , however, we didn't have a chance to try it. The bed was comfortable and fireplace was great. Location is close to downtown and easy access to Sensorio or Tin City. When we arrived there was a guest waiting for 30 mins at the check in lounge for help, when we would call the number left on the front desk sign, it would ring to the front desk or to the smartphone device. We thought it might be a one off but this was a common occurrence throughout our stay. It is fine if you want contactless check in just let people know in advance- there is never anyone there to assist with questions or provide a friendly welcome... it seemed it was off putting to many guests we encountered waiting
- LIZBETH (10/5): - Lovely stay
- Soagdia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (6/5): Wanted to Love this place… - Wanted to love this cute place but FROZE as a result of a ceiling unit that never got warm. Bathroom had no vent and it was 40 degrees outside. Also, no iron in the room was not typical and both parties needed one. Restaurant is outside and it was too cold to sit. Perhaps this motel is better in the summer. Also, loud music played at the restaurant until 10ish and I had asked for a quiet room.
- Marc (9/5): Superb -
- Robb (10/5): - Absolute awesome facility. New, clean , quiet. Highly recommended
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Great Pool and Bar
- Nichole (10/5): Can I move in? - I loved every minute of my stay! From the moment I walked in and was excitedly greeted by the front desk host, then the lovely and helpful server who delivered room service, and finally the warm and friendly clerk who checked me out in the morning.
The rooms are adorable, clean and comfortable. The pool is fun and relaxing. The whole property makes you feel relaxed and recharged after a long day of work or wine tasting.
- Mark (9/5): New chic 'no-kids' motel is my new place to stay in Paso! - A very cool hotel for non-children travelers who are looking for a quiet, chilled place to stay in Paso. Rooms are motel-chic, with comfortable beds, large shower and streaming-only TV's. Large pool and hot tub with nearby bar, and outdoor (covered) restaurant for lunch & dinner. Free EV hookup (3 total) was a plus! No breakfast available whatsoever (only coffee) which is a significant negative (due to complications from recent California legislation concerning add-on fees - but the hotel should fix this somehow.). Bar & restaurant staff can be improved (bartender was a zero in personality).
- Blake (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer L (8/5): Suprising little gem - My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at River Lodge. Our room was extremely comfortable. We loved having the option for room service and we enjoyed the bar/pool area however we think there could be some improvement on the drinks and service. The staff was friendly enough but we would have to wait quite a long time for drinks which were not that great. Definately enjoyed ourselves.
- Renee (10/5): Wonderful. - Great place, so cute! Spacious room, bunker walls so it's quiet, fireplace, huge bathroom, beautiful pool. Couldn't figure out how to make room warmer except to run fireplace. Nice bar and high-end restaurant at the pool. Free parking on site. The pizza is flavorless. Location is out of town....not walkable to bars.
- Kristin (9/5): Great getaway location for wine tasting weekends - Great pool, on site restaurant and bar , great
Rooms Some road noise- but not unexpected
- Michael (10/5): I had a very relaxing time, would definitely recommend! - Conveniently located right next to a mall with a Target and quick service restaurants. On-site al fresco restaurant at poolside was very good. Air conditioning was surprisingly quiet; I needed it on 24x7 since it was over 100 degrees every day I was there. Bathroom toiletries and linens were high quality. Bed was super comfortable! Only minor issues. Water pressure in the shower was low, but temperature range was good. Tap water was cloudy, but tasted fine. Ice cream in my affogato had a lot of freezer burn, but the accompanying espresso was delicious.
- Paige (9/5): Superb - The decor was desert Oasis, our princess pug was admired, the service was warm & friendly. It was a perfect two day holiday
- Laura (10/5): - We loved our stay here and will definitely be back. The rooms are beautiful and clean. There are comfy hammocks on the front porches that are great for a little relaxation before dinner. Everyone was very nice and helpful.
- Todd (10/5): Just perfect stay to visit the wine country and the coast - Staff was great. Everything was clean. The bar was awesome! Convenient location to everything in Paso Robles
