- Dalia (8/5): - My stay at Z Hotel City was good. The staff at the downstairs cafe are extremely friendly, as well as the front desk. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is small but enough. The room is also very small but that's clear before booking. There was A/C in my room which was great. The drains and plumbing is a bit loud in the evenings and you can hear people walking outside and upstairs. Just somewhat loud and something to take in consideration if you're a light sleeper. Overall, good experience.

The room was very small and compact and the bed was against two walls so I had to climb over my partner to get out of bed in the night to go to the loo. The shower and bathroom also very small and the shower fitting was damaged but functional.

The air conditioner had to be running at really cold temps at all times of the day or it would get muggy in the room. The breakfast was really good and the staff were friendly.

On the positive side, the location is excellent, right in the heart of the city with easy access to attractions and public transport. Overall, a convenient place if location matters most, but be prepared for very compact rooms.

As the room was so dark we left the bed lights on as could not see the lighting pad. A bed lamp or light around the the pad may assist. The room was beautifully clean along with the bed and bathroom. Towls also spotless. Tea coffee and even oat milk sachets. Would definitely return
- Michael (10/5): Augustine's the Best! - Easy check-in, even though I was hours late. Augustine, the concierge, was simply amazing! I forgot my travel adaptor, and he tried his best to look through the storage to find one. I could tell he was working long hours and was smiling at every turn! Time for a raise for Augustine!. Thanks, I will keep up with Z Hotel when I'm in London. Keep your awesome employees!

- Ricardo (8/5): - I stayed here for three nights and overall really enjoyed it. The staff were fantastic, the place was spotless, and the location couldn’t be better — just 10 minutes to Trafalgar Square, 15 to Piccadilly, and loads of transport options right outside. The only quirk? The room was a bit small, and the bathroom was a separate glass cubicle — one of those “modern hotel” design trends I’ll never understand. If your idea of a holiday is watching your friends on the toilet :D, then this is the luxury you’ve been waiting for.
- Michelle (6/5): - The hotel itself is very nice. The staff are all lovely. However, the beds are incredibly hard. We had to ask for a spare duvet to put under us, but we still slept very little. The air con is also poor. We had a fan blasting all night as the air con did little to cool the room. If they could sort the beds I would stay again in cooler weather, but at the moment I couldn't recommend it as when we complained we were told all the beds are like it. One of us will sleep on just about anything and even he found it rock-like.

I found the young man who was working that day to be a bit stand offish and not very welcoming. I was celebrating my birthday and it would have really been nice to know about the event that was taking place in the evening. Other than that the location is well appointed and a good walking distance to all the major attractions in central London.

I checked ratings and I found Z hotel on Fleet Street. I cannot tell you how happy I was to check in there and find out how lovely it was! A real hotel! The staff were amazing. They were very helpful and friendly to check in was a breeze. The breakfast the next morning was wonderful. I cannot say enough about this hotel. It was so comfortable and I felt so great there after a horrendous experience at the hotel that I had originally booked thank you hotel Z for making my stay so great!

And although room had a window it wasn’t a great set up. Chipped sink. Very noisy throughout the night - not sure if it toilet systems or something else. Room was snug but knew it would be when booked. Floor was nice n clean
- Ellyn (6/5): - The property is conveniently located to Covent Garden and the theatre district. It's also close to metro and bus stops. Other pros include the lovely shower, large tvs (2 in a 2Q room), and comfy beds. However, the room size is not as pictured in their expedia photos. The rooms are so small that there is no room for luggage. We brought bags/backpacks and there was no place to store them in the room nor were there drawers or closets. We had a 2 queen bed room and 4 people struggled to work around each other in the tiny space. When we asked the front desk about storage, how others handled, or if there was a larger room (there isn't), the response was shrugged shoulders. Upon checkout, we discovered you could store your luggage in a room next to the front desk which still seems less than ideal. Bottomline: don't stay here unless you need a no frills (expensive) room for a short timeframe. Do not recommend.
- Craig (4/5): Too Small - The double room was just too small for two people. You have a bed, TV & bathroom… which had NO privacy. Had to have one person get ready at a time. There was just Not enough space. AC constantly dripped on the floor. Fire alarm went off at 5:00am in error! Staff was friendly, though. Probably OK for ONE person.

- Ruth (10/5): Brill - Hotel Z was one of the few hotels which falls into that category which isn't a £20 a night dormitory or a £150+ expensive hotel. For a very reasonable price, you get a clean, comfy, air conditioned room in a great location. I arrived 3 hours early and was able to leave my bag at the hotel. When I came back in the evening, someone had taken my bag to my room for me! The room was compact but perfect for me. I think if you were travelling with a lot of luggage and with two people, you might struggle. The shower/bathroom was new and really well put together. Bed was clean and really comfy. The staff were do friendly and super helpful. There was a kettle in the room and taylors of harrogate coffee bags (really appreciated having a nice coffee to start the day!). Breakfast was a tenner, it was fairly simple but what was available was tasty and fresh.

And, with windows which couldn’t open, there was no way of cooling the room, especially as I came back late in the evening. Resulting in a very uncomfortable night.

- Raviraj (4/5): - Quite terrible - staff just didn't seem to care to fix issues. When I arrived, the person didn't tell me how to access the Wifi - I had to ask When I got to my room, there was a blinking light on my phone indicating I had messages - called the desk, the person said to ignore it. I wanted to clear the blinking - he promised to send someone (7pm). I left for dinner. Nothing happened. Called again (930pm) - he promised to send someone. Nothing. Called again - 10pm - he said there's no one left and it would be done in the morning. I asked why he didn't call to tell me this, but no real reason. Next day - nothing. TV wasn't working. It wasn't plugged in. I finally got it plugged in, but got a Roku error message in French. Took it downstairs - two of the staff looked at it and didn't bother to think it through - just told me they couldn't fix it. Used google translate to figure out what the message said and - after some work - got Roku on. But, turned out there was a separate TV input. I am really really surprised that a big hotel like that has only one elevator.
- Hilda (8/5): - I thought the property was in a perfect location, we were able to walk 20-30min to everything we wanted to see. The staff was amazing, the restaurant/bar was really good. I didn’t like the room at all, I had never stayed in a room that small or that had bathroom in the middle of it. As someone that is handicapped it was very hard to move around in there. I wish this would’ve been told to me before getting the hotel. The AC also didn’t work in my room, they tried to fix it but it still didn’t work.

I was also aware the rooms are small. However there is small and very small and overly cramped. Won't use Z again becasue of this. Staff great. Riooms too small

- Stuart (2/5): No Air Conditioning or Coffee!!! - The air conditioning in the room was not working and the room temperature was extremely hot. I was given an alternative room which due to its location in the building was not quite so warm, but again the air conditioning was not working. I again reported the malfunction and went out. On my return the solution had been to open the only window. I pre booked breakfast which is cheaper than on the day and in the morning it was not showing as having been booked. The member of staff indicated it would be full price. In addition, there was no coffee at breakfast as the machine wasn’t working and no alternative.

- Helen Ann (2/5): - This review is absolutely no reflection on the staff as they genuinely did all they could to go above and beyond. However! Upon arriving there was no record of the booking and it took an hour to get sorted (again, staff brilliant as it was beyond their control). Had to get Expedia involved to eventually get booker in, only to end up with a room that we hadn’t booked. We had booked a room with a window but ended up in a room without one and one that apparently was warmer than the sun which lead to a distinct lack of sleep. You expect to get a room that you pay for. The one star is purely for the staff as they deserve some credit for trying to rectify such a shocking experience. I would have given the hotel a zero for everything else. I hope the staff on the desk are valued as they tried but unfortunately it won’t be somewhere we book again.
- Peter (8/5): Average - The room was acceptable, it felt damp which makes sense since there is no extractor in the room. The mattress wasn't great, I could feel the bed slats. Since there doesn't seem to be an extractor the room steamed up after showers making it impossible for my wife to get ready. Overall it was Ok.

- Hayley (10/5): Budget price, but not budget quality! - Had an excellent stay at the Z hotel City. The staff are super friendly and helpful. We arrived early than check in time however our room was ready so they allocated the keys. Modular compact room with everything you need. Hot shower, lovely queen size bed and pillows, duvet. Free tea, coffee, shower gel, shampoo. Good quality towels. The room had air conditioning, and also super quiet. We had a room with a window with a nice view. We didn't book breakfast however it did look really good value for money, we had a speciality croissant with coffee which was really good. Thank you for holding our bags in our 2nd day so we could site see after we had checked out. All in all no complaints, would definitely recommend and will definitely be back. 5 stars from me.

- Lynda (10/5): - What a tiny gem this Z hotel is. The super compact room is cleverly designed with maximum comfort and convenience. Ask for a back room. I had a huge window overlooking Temple court. Fabulous city of London location on historic Fleet Street. Short stroll to St. Paul’s, Temple Gardens, Thames, Samuel Johnson house and countless other historic sites. A real find, but newbies to London beware that the rooms are super small. Best value for London prices.

- Keith (10/5): Nice hotel - The room may not be to everyone’s liking but for an overnight central London stay it was good value, clean and perfectly sited The room was very small, but it had all the requirements for me, if you want a window though, then choose carefully.

- Amy (8/5): - Travelled with my 8year old for a trip to see Matilda. Hotel 15mins walk from Covent Garden with bus stop right outside so great location. Our room was tiny so it’s lucky we only had a sleep in there. It had everything we needed but the bed was very hard and only had feather pillows. Breakfast selection not designed for UK guests.

- Kimberly (2/5): - There was construction outside of the property that included drilling & jackhammering. Not really the hotels fault, but what is there fault is that they put us in a basement room. So we had the privilege of listening to the jackhammers at all hours. Also, they clearly covered crumbling floors with rubber mats or something because the floor just dipped into a hole when you stepped on them. They apologized and offered us a free drink on the way out, but I would have preferred they were proactive in their hospitality approach.
- Nancy (8/5): Great London Location - The Z Hotel was a perfect 2 day stay in London. My goal was to see great art and get a feel for Bankside. Within walking distance was Tate Modern, Somerset House, Bankside Gallery, Globe Theater, Covent Garden, and West End theaters. The hotel staff were super friendly and accommodating. The room was small with no window but it was clean and well designed. Definitely only room for one person. The little cafe was a bonus for an early cup of tea and a late night glass of wine.
- Belle (2/5): - When we got back to the hotel, we were shocked to find our luggage had been moved to another room without permission. Even worse, my son’s bag—with his iPad and cellphone inside—was left behind in the room along with other people’s belongings.

- Kristen (10/5): - Fantastic location in the legal precinct code to everything - walk and/or tube/busses. Staff were great and responsive. Loved the cafe and the complimentary coffee and tea and daily wine and cheese if you are a member! Cafe food also good for light meals. Rooms aren’t big but perfect for me and I had a lovely view from my window. Room was very quiet. Great value for money. Had a maintenance issue in my room but was fixed quickly.
- Edward (8/5): Quite a good option: pleasant, fairly comfortable - Quite a comfortable, cost-effective stay in a convenient, agreeable part of London. My room was small but had been thoughtfully kitted out with everything I needed. Might be a bit tight with two, though. Bed a bit firm but I slept well. They are still using individual packs of toiletries: nowadays I really prefer dispensers fixed to the wall. Breakfast was OK, though nothing to write home about. The little cafe-restaurant was quite crowded - not helped by a member of staff blocking one table apparently working out duty rosters etc.. Quite a nice, basic hotel: I would (shall!) return.
- LaKendrick (6/5): Spontaneous Day Trip - Short trip to London and was looking for a reasonable stay since London is so expensive. Relatively decent price, very tiny, tiny room. View left something to be desired but it served the purpose of needing a place to sleep and shower for a night. Bed was very firm and the room was pretty hot even with the AC on.
- Matthew (6/5): - Area is pretty central, but still a good 15-30 minute walk to pretty much anything. Sheets were stained, room is small. For the price it is not bad. (Besides the stained sheets)

- Kirsty (10/5): - This hotel was a 30 minute walk so when we got off the train we walked and when we were going back home to the train we walked. This hotel is also a 10-15 minute walk from all the landmarks / sightseeing! We got to see all the landmarks in 1 day! There was bars and restaurants around our area, so it was still lively - but lovely and quiet. Our room was a lovely size, we couldn’t have asked for anything more! Absolutely loved the smell of the hotel when we walked in everytime. Staff were amazing and quick to checking us in and out - pizza was great too! Would definitely stay here again.
