Guest Reviews
- Christopher (8/5): Nice relaxed stay definitely be back - It was a nice big room and the staff was excellent 😊
- Amelia (9/5): Perfect stay. - Staff were lovely. There was 5 of us all girlfriends, celebrating a big birthday and we got a big family room which was perfect with our own bathroom and fridge, plenty of space in the room for us all and our luggage. That there was only one room key which was a bit of a pain as we had to phone our friends to let us in the main door at night.
- Amanda (10/5): -
- Alicja (5/5): - Is ok
- Guest (7/5): -
- Jade (8/5): - Hi our family had a lovely 2 nights at this b&b the owners were lovely and very welcoming. We will be back. The handle on the window was broken so window wouldnt fully close but this didnt bother us as room was warm anyway.
- Claire (9/5): - Lovely staff, very welcoming and attentive . The room was a good size with everything required for our stay A plug for the bath and it was a little cold in the room in the evening but didn’t affect our stay and would recommend to anyone considering this accommodation
- Chris (5/5): Was ok. - Did not have breakfast Had a off putting smell when entered the building.
- Stuart (5/5): - Room was nice but covers provided looked very childish for being on a fancy bed . Room was freezing. Had to ask for the heating on late at night should be at a moderate temperature and got water wasn't hot enough to run a bath and television was very hard to switch on and off. Toilet seat was already damaged before we got there reported it straight away but was fixed.
- Jasmine (10/5): Friendly hotel with easy to access transport to town/piers - We had a really great stay at the Holmlea, the hosts were friendly and accommodating and their little boy was so sweet and helpful. We had an unfortunate incident where our bed broke in the middle of the night (me and my partner are both plus sized people, so it's our fault not the hotel's) but the host fixed our bed in the morning so it was ready for us to use the next night and we had an amazing sleep the 2nd night.
The hotel has free WiFi, parking is £10 a day/night so cheaper than parking on the prom. Unfortunately the hotel is not wheelchair accessible but it is mobility impairment accessible (if you can use stairs). The hotel is a 5 minute walk from a tram stop so accessible for walking and it's a short distance walk to south pier & pleasure beach. I would recommend this hotel and we would definitely be open to staying at this hotel again. N/A
- jessica (10/5): -
- kerry shepherd (10/5): - Very welcoming nothing is a fuss definitely stay again
- Katarzyna (9/5): Good time spend with my daughter - Location very good
- Tanyia (7/5): -
- linda (5/5): Needs a bit of tlc - The lady was lovely. Parking was available to book. Just off the main street. Bed was comfy. The window wouldn't close, so the curtains were blowing in the window. The room was very cold because of it. There is no spare bedding, so we wore clothes to bed to try and keep warm. The entrance light to the room kept goung on and off all night by itself. The clock needs a battery (not working). The radiator is way too small for the bedroom. Mind you with the window not shutting, and it wasn't much used anyway. We were there for 3 days, so we had to dry ourselves with damp towels as no facilities to dry them and weren't approached with dry ones.
You can pre book breakfast online at the time of booking. However, no mention of breakfast whilst we were their.

Drawers need a clean
Decore peeling
- Rizwan Ali (8/5): - Good location and comfortable stay It was ok with the price, so no major complaints
- Steven (9/5): Great Venue, at the right price in a spot on location - Location Everything was good, nothing to dislike
- Cerys (3/5): - Good size room, staff were pleasant and helpful. All you could smell was drains, fridge was mouldy, cups were dirty, windows filthy, the light by the door kept coming on and off all through the night.
- Victoria (8/5): Comfortable and friendly hotel - The owner was very helpful and friendly and responded quickly to anything we needed.
It was in a quiet part of the town but still close to the promenade.
I was also able to park at the front of the hotel and felt my car was safe. The bathroom was freezing during the night - this is probably the only thing I can say!
- Becky (9/5): -
- lewis (1/5): 2 night stay turned to 2 hour trip back home. - Hard to say 2 nights booked here, upon arrival Left are bags in the room to go explore then returned to get ready for bed to find blood stains on the pillow, hairs in the beds, stains on the mattress, one of the beds broken and the fridge had spoiled old milk spilled in it so stunk the whole room out after opening it. Was offered another room which was in similar condition stains and hairs on beds. Ended up grabbing our bags and booking early train tickets home after a few hours of arriving
- Abigail (8/5): Overall a good stay for just getting your head down - Very friendly owners A little bit dated and the shower wasn’t powerful at all.
- Samantha (7/5): basic and affordable and an overall pleasant stay, would stay again - Location ideal, friendly owners, you get what you pay for so value for money fridge in room and microwave for communal use if needed It’s a very old building so some updating to the shower could be done and the room got quite chilly at night
- Ellissia (5/5): Owners very welcoming. Given the price for a Fridayand Saturday it was a bed for the nights we didn’t stay in the room l - The friendliness was very good. Welcoming and courteous. Location was perfect for what we wanted.
Has parking spaces although chargeable wouldn’t expect this for free anyway.
Was quiet as the hotel wasn’t full. Owners were available via text which was very handy for any questions.
Bed was comfy Cleanliness. We did speak to the owners on check out to give feedback but here are the concerns for me:
Old toothbrush in the bathroom.
Bar of soap left on the shower gels. Not sure if that also was from previous guest but bars of soap are not hygienic the liquid soaps on the wall shower were also not filled up.
The hot water is an issue but it is an old building which is explained in the bathroom.
Bathroom floor wasn’t swept so definitely not mopped.
Dust is a big issue particularly in the bathroom
Windows need a deep clean inside and outside - the glass was filthy
Coffee/tea marks on the draws by the bed so it doesn’t make me feel these have been sanitised.
Bathroom door needs replacing due to a hole mark.
Bed could have had a mattress protector under for hygiene purposes
Room was cold, however it’s an old building
- Eamonn (10/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): -
- Kieron (1/5): Appalling. hygiene is unacceptable full of bedbugs, tried to contact staff but kept going to voicemail when we tried to - When we first arrived we were happy with the location. During the night we discovered that the bed was infested with bedbugs. We tried to speak with the staff who have said we are lying and not been helpful at all.
- Simon (10/5): - Great stay with great hosts. Everything we needed for a few days away.
Good location within easy reach of town & all facilities.
- Andrew (8/5): - Warm welcome
- nichola (4/5): - Friendly staff, ok for 1 night Uncomfortable beds, grubby bathroom, outdated decor throughout
- Tanya (8/5): Definitely recommend - The lovely couple owners are very welcoming and accommodating. We needed a few extra bits and nothing was too much trouble. The window on the room didn't close properly, this didn't affect our stay as it was summer time but had we stayed in winter this would have bothered me.
- Sarah (8/5): - Great welcoming hosts great parking comfortable bed and pillows Outdated and needs a refurb/update
- Bola (7/5): - Fantastic staff and very accommodating The shower can do with an upgrade. The shower pressure was very low.
- Bannaghan (10/5): - Spotless clean and made very welcome
- Janet (8/5): - They owner was very welcoming the room was lovely and clean but a bit tired. We had a 4 poster bed which was again tired but very comfortable.
We couldn't find the hairdryer contacted owner who brought one within 10minx The window opening were broken in the bathroom, everything was a bit tired.
- Margaret (10/5): An excellent hotel run by a lovely couple - Central location, comfortable rooms
- Talat (5/5): -
- Georgia (9/5): Second time staying here, we really like this hotel, everything we need, staff are really friendly, great location and c - Lovely owners, good communication, parking on site, lovely safe environment Very happy with all of it
- Sally (1/5): Ended up poorly! - Did not like anything about the property.. the smell was awful all the way through! My car was blocked in for hours, the fridge in the room had mould in it, down the side of the beds were disgusting! Toilet was filthy, mattress protectors were stained, pillows looked like tea bags, kettle had not been descaled for months! Had to ask for an iron and board and they both looked fit for the bin!
Stayed 2 nights and could never find any staff, wasn’t offered a room clean or fresh towels!
- Fatou (10/5): Fantastic hosts with a great place to stay when coming to Blackpool - The owners are amazing, they did everything to make our stay as great as possible , the room was very big. The location is very good , just a short walk to the beach. Close to all types of shops including Tesco and the laundromat.
We will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended The only downside was the water pressure of the shower in the room
- Inga (10/5): -
- Natalie (10/5): Great stay - The staff were lovely. The room was clean and spacious. The location was perfect.
- kel (8/5): -
- Keir Warner (10/5): - Very helpful host, great location and comfortable accommodation
- Soloman (10/5): - they are very welcome and everything's really nice evening
- Porter (9/5): -
- Kenneth (8/5): We would go again! - Large spacious room, tea and coffee, fridge and good sized TV a plus. Plates and glasses and cutlery available to use for food and drinks. Bath available. Shower pressure is good and water hot. Pretty clean. Pleasant host and parking spot available outside the front of the hotel
for £10 per day which was convenient. Furniture Is quite dated, the couch and bed could do with replacing soon. Some paint coming off walls and a few stains here and there.
- Ebony (10/5): I definitely recommend this hotel close to the beach an beds are comfy - The beds was comfy , it was clean , staff was lovely I definitely recommend
- tek (10/5): - absolutely nice clean room with attached bathroom large room highly recommend stay for 2 night very comfy bed as well if u want cold drink get own drinks theres even fridge in room
- Sirirat (8/5): - The staff were friendly, and the room was tidy and clean.
- Andrew (8/5): Enjoyable stay & would return but need improvement on plumbing - Nice & clean & in a good location Hot water was a real challenge in the bathroom
- Giovanni (8/5): -
- Laura (10/5): Brilliant friendly and helpful staff and will definitely be returning - The room was a decent size also very clean and the bed was really comfy I didn’t realise it was in south shore but that’s my own fault
- Joseph (8/5): Excellent value for money - Excellent location. Hosts were very welcoming. Exceptional value. There was nothing to dislike
- Jodie (10/5): -
- Steve (8/5): Good value - Location
- Young natasha (10/5): Warm and friendly hotel - The staff at this hotel are lovely and very helpful with places to go ect......
The same room we had as last year and the problem we had with bathroom has been fixed :)
The location is to the beach and trams plus local tesco and train station all walking distance. Nothing :)
- Amber (10/5): Excellent for my friends and I. We were happy. - The two double beds was really comfortable and so was the couch. It was quite clean apart from some stain on the mattress duvet cover but we still slept comfortably. The tea and coffee stand were really good! The host has amazing communication skills and was very lenient with check in and check out There was no hand wash for the sink and there was no sanitary bin for the bathroom
- Amy (10/5): Great can't wait to return - The staff was friendly the room was clean there was a bath the room was spacious I wasn't aware parking was 10 pounds per night untill I arrived however they let me pay on checkout because didn't have 20 pounds cash when arrived
- Victoria (9/5): - Lovely hotel good location
- Nicola (9/5): Home to home - There was plenty of room and very comfortable. The owner was really nice and let us know if we needed anything we only had to ask, so we borrowed a fan for the couple of days we where there. I can honestly say there wasn't anything we didn't like. Apart from leaving to come home.
- Nikola (2/5): Disappointing - Was close to the beach and not far from attractions and staff was welcoming The room was big but not cleaned at all and experience as a family as a whole was a disappointment as was not liked advertised unfortunately not a place to visit for families with children
- Michal (7/5): -
- Martyn brooke (6/5): - Friendly hosts helpful when spoke to Parking 10 pounds was not mentioned in booking, dust on top of wardrobe and bit of mould in shower tray
- Benjamin (10/5): Beautiful pleasant staff couldn't of asked for more - Even though no breakfast is available at the hotel there is a cafe not to far from the hotel and everything you will need is situated nearby There is nothing I did not like everything was perfect
- Nathan (6/5): - Rooms need a good clean and the shower takes 6mins to get warm. Then turns off 2mins when hot
- Emma (7/5): - Very friendly staff, a quiet family hotel in a fantastic location. Great value for money. Large rooms, with a bath and 2 double beds. Fridge freezer for the late night snacks and drinks. The curtains could have been better if they had a blackout as we all were woken at sunrise. I think the rooms do need an upgrade, i.e., new beds etc but this is definitely reflected in the price. Parking is minimal, and there is a chance you could arrive and not be able to park. This is charged at £10pn and not included in your room rate.
- Corina (10/5): -
- radu (1/5): Worst place. - Nothing I stayed at The Homlea between 24–26 May and had a terrible experience. The room was infested with bed bugs, my girlfriend and I were bitten during the night, and we were forced to leave after the first night.
We felt unsafe staying there, so we had to find a new hotel at our own expense, seal all our clothes in bags, and purchase new clothes to avoid bringing the infestation home. This caused significant stress and unexpected costs.
We found several bugs and even took photos as proof. When we informed the staff, they denied the issue and offered no help at all.
On top of that, the bedsheets were visibly dirty and seemed unwashed, which made the stay even more uncomfortable and concerning from a hygiene perspective.
I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Hygiene and customer care were completely lacking.
- Parton (8/5): Cheeky weekend away - That the family were lovely and the hotel was nice, clean and welcoming, Everything was ok
- Meeghan (9/5): -
- Amran (10/5): - the staff was very friendly I will come back again next time
- christina (2/5): Needs a good deep clean and a total refurbishment - Nothing The room was dirty very dusty sticky bathroom floor shaking wardrobe worn out bed not a comfortable room we booked for two nights but left after one
- Hope (10/5): - Very comfy bed and very close to the sea front. Nothing
- Daniel (8/5): - Location was perfect. Just a few minutes from the beach. The hosts were lovely, welcoming and friendly. The mattress was a little hard for my liking so I did find it difficult to get comfortable.
- Margaret (10/5): A fabulous stay, we are booking again for later this year - A lovely hotel, fantastic hosts. The room decor was fabulous
- Pooja (10/5): Pleasant stay and friendly hosts. -
- Nick (7/5): -
- Jack (10/5): Perfect - Excellent service perfect Stay will come again
- Toby (9/5): Comfy night sleep - Very friendly staff who are more than happy to help with any issues hotel was clean and very quiet we will be returning to this hotel again would definitely recommend anyone who is staying in Blackpool to stay here Nothing
- Abbie (5/5): Had cut short due to hardly slept and old Piecing infected - Was clean and tidy The beds where old and very uncomfortable and pillows where lumpy
- Barbubu (8/5): Great - I liked everything about the room, but the bathroom was very cold.
- Davnrob (8/5): - The room was large with a large ensuite. Close walk to the waterfront. Reasonably quiet at night. Parking was neat but staff had it under control. Alicia offered lots of suggestions on places to eat and things to do. The property is old but well cared for. The bed was comfy.
- kerry shepherd (10/5): Our stay - From the off Alesha and Raz were very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The room was exceptional, and the price was fantastic. We visit Blackpool about 6-8 times a year and have been coming for over 10 years, and I can honestly say this is easily the best place we have ever stayed. We will be back very soon and would highly recommend this fabulous hotel. Everything was fantastic.good for price
- kerry shepherd (10/5): My stay - Same as my first review we had 2 rooms everything service was great They were very welcoming
- Grant Andrew (1/5): -
- jodie (10/5): stay here - was clean and staff was very nice nothing it was amazing
- Allison (10/5): -
- Annie (6/5): -
- A (4/5): - Staff were welcoming.
The hotel was close to enough to the pleasure beach and shops that we wanted to go to The room was cold and heating wasn’t working properly.
The beds weren’t comfy and they had red stains on the bed sheets and the bathroom door had red stains on it.
The shower temperature was cold and took very long to get warm,we had to keep the taps running for it to warm up abit.
- Stacey (4/5): - This place wasn't far from the front. Good walking distance. Place wasnt very clean, lots of patch work. Bathroom needs a good scub sink and showr has black mold. Toilet hadn't even been clean once arrived had urine all over seat. Dead flys on windows. Alot of work needing done. Room can do with a whole upgrade.
- Whalley (10/5): -
- Taylor (7/5): - Staff were pleasant and friendly. A bowl with sweets for children, at the entrance. The room and bedding are spacious and clean. Had tea and coffee making facilities with a fridge. No spoons, though. The room was very child friendly. The shower was spacious, and the water was hot.parkimg is available for a small fee. We would stay there again in the future. It was good value for the money paid. I think the hotel is a work in progress as shown by fresh paint on the outside of the building
The room was extremely cold and had one heater, which, when switched on, made the room lovely and warm. Curtain poles were not very safe. A half eaten biscuit down the side of the bed.
The bathroom was a very good side. However, the door didn't stay closed, and items were not very clean. The bathroom had no heating in there. The free WiFi didn't work at all.
- Scott (10/5): - Great place to stay and great location, staff were very friendly and welcoming with a relaxed atmosphere will definitely be back soon.
- Joyce (1/5): - Nothing Hotel was dirty and old room was very dated
Staff not very helpful
No lights at main entrance
Had to wake staff up to check out
All and all wish had never booked it
- Sahar (10/5): I wish to visit soon - It was excellent All perfect
- Sarah (8/5): A comfortable place to stay - The hotel proved a good place for our family of four to stay while visiting some of Blackpool's central tourist attractions.
The property was comfortable and well suited to our needs.
The host was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The location close to the prom was good.
We didn't spend much time in the hotel but it was somewhere we'd have been happy to spend more time.
Our toddler liked the spacious travel cot so much he told us he wanted to keep that one instead of using his own smaller ones in future. We had difficulty getting the shower to run at the right temperature but the host said there were plans to replace the existing showers with electric ones so this problem will be overcome in the near future.
The parking was not ideal as, due to the location of the property's parking spaces, it was necessary for us to park in front of other cars. Consequently, as we were leaving our car at the property during the day, we had to leave our key with the host to allow her to move our car if needed. This wasn't a problem for us but it could be for other guests who are driving company vehicles, hire cars etc. and can't permit someone else to drive them but there are public car parks close by that could be used instead.
Having decaf tea and coffee available would have been greatly appreciated.
