Guest Reviews
- Sarah (10/5): - It was a really nice accommodation! The room was spacious and nicely decorated. The restaurant is also very nice and you can reach everything by foot. Would definetly stay here again.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Very cool accommodation and super comfy. Hope to stay again soon.
- Michelle (10/5): - Such a cute find in Hobart. We loved everything about it.
- Mal (10/5): - Great boutique hotel. Comfortable bed, large ensuite.
Street parking only.
- Daniel (10/5): - Second stay here, it's just a fantastic place. Great food, great service, lovely rooms and wonderful people! Will be back.
- Alyssa (6/5): - The room was reasonably nice although the bathroom was unnecessarily dark. The shower being in an accessible room flooded the bathroom floor everytime it was used.
Bed is fairly comfortable. Air con a plus but no control over the settings. Parking was a abysmal, first finding the driveway from a busy difficult to turn around on street, then finding the actual correct garage door (apparently you’re meant to understand that one of the three doorways with a cryptic deconstructed “C” leading to what looks like the door to a warehouse is indicative of a parking garage. Then figuring out how to get the keypad to work, then navigating with a small car getting through the very narrow garage door after a tight turn and finally the 13 point turn into the very tight parking spot. The whole ordeal took 45 mins. Hallway is far from welcoming. Not sure the vibe they’re after, if it’s ~anxiety~ they’ve nailed it. Between the disconcerting audio on repeat that can only be describe as taxi jam in Mumbai in rush hour and the creepy drawing in the dingy poorly lit hallway. Somehow this is all just “art”. Location is good but the car was so hard to get in I was too scared to drive anywhere to have to deal with it all over again so didn’t bother going anywhere that wasn’t walkable. To be honest as much as the room was nice, I couldn’t wait to get out of there.
- Leanne (8/5): - We had an appointment at the Calvary Hospital close by and chose this booking due to the location and reviews.
Had a lovely meal and a few cocktails 🍹 in the restaurant below. Only negative was that Is was vey warm and stuffy in the room and you couldn’t open a window, and we couldn’t get the heating onto cooling.. a but disappointing that the parking wasn’t in a secure area..but overall a great place to stay.. very clean and comfy bed..
- Sherrie (8/5): - Was a lovely room, very clean, only it didn’t have any tea and coffee making facilities in the room. We travelled back and forwards to the hospital all hours and would have been nice to be able to make a cup of tea.
- Steaven (4/5): - Could not control the room temperature and it was suffocating. Called the reception and they said they could not help since it was in heating mode.
Had booked the place because they mentioned they had parking but on reaching, they mentioned that we had to park on the street.
- Anne (10/5): - The Waggon is great place to stay on the edge of the Hobart CBD. The owners have taken an old pub and beautifully transformed it into a dining/bar/accommodation hub. The decor, furnishings room size and amazing bathroom are all superior to branded hotels the city centre - at half the price on the night of our stay.
- John (10/5): - The room is lovely. Two wonderfully made cocktails in the room upon arrival. Lots of great small details.
- Thomas (10/5): - Staff were so friendly and made you feel right at home.
- Lisa (8/5): - Over all the property was very good the staff were helpful and friendly.
We did notice in the room although very clean there was no where to hang a jacket or dress etc.
we also found parking hard to find close to the accommodation
- Clarissa (10/5): - The Waggon was a lovely place to stay! It was a warm welcoming environment and so close to amazing restaurants!
- Lydia (10/5): Fantastic accommodation! - We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were friendly and had lots of lovely touches. The room was huge, and very well maintained and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant downstairs is a standout and I recommend having dinner there.
I wouldn't recommend if you have mobility issues as their are lots of stairs.
Parking is available on the street, but we rarely had issue getting a park
- Julie (8/5): - A lovely renovation with some teething problems. Channel 7 TV reception was poor and needs some tuning. Personally I would prefer a cup of tea in my room to a cocktail although I appreciate the thought behind providing that and the dips. I don't think you should be advertising on site parking - it clearly wasn't an option when we arrived, but we were able to find street parking without too much difficulty - this might be different on week days.
