Guest Reviews
- Frank (2/5): - Did not come up expecting for the cost
The carpets were threadbare
No breakfast and it’s classed as B and B
Would not recommend it
- Quanda (10/5): - Good price for the money
- Blake (8/5): - This property was in walking distance to shopping, restaurants and transportation. We enjoyed our stay here.
- Elaine (10/5): Close to centre - Short walk from town, or no 4 bus from station stops end of road.Met by friendly house keeper given keys ran through everything never saw her or anyone again but no problems, tea making, TV, hair dryer heater in room and WiFi code. Thin walls next door arguing and noisy, bed comfy, small bathroom. If 'and I hope to' return to jersey I would use again and recommend.
- Maureen (10/5): - We didn’t arrive till late as our flights were delayed, the owner texted and I then advised when we would be there, we didn’t have to wait, smooth check in and the room was as expected for a guest house. The owner was extremely helpful when on our last night we become ill and as we had had hardly any sleep, she let us stay in the room longer than the time required for check out, we really appreciated this as we were able to get some extra sleep, and be in a fitter position to travel home, so understanding thank you. It is not far from the main town, so ideal if you don’t mind the short walk. If we retuned to st Helier in the future. We would consider booking Alister again. Thank you for a pleasant stay.
- Gabriella (4/5): - No enough milk the room,we rang takecarer, rang bell a few times but no response.cold water for 2 days but noone to report it.we did no see anyone for the 3 days we stay
- Helen (6/5): - This is a basic guest house and fine if you just want a base to stay and aren't looking for the finer things in a hotel/guest house. It did have tea and coffee in the room. Its about a 12-15 minute walk into the main town. Bit of a hill on the way back but not too bad.
Bed was comfy and room was clean but we had issues with no hot water twice during our 3 night stay and a cold shower was not great! To be fair the first day the landlord fixed it immediately but on our last night it was a real pain and we couldn't shower that night or the morning we left. There is no breakfast either - its changed hands since the amazing breakfast reviews and the cleaners were a bit abrupt on our last day, knocking on my door at 10.15 telling me to leave (checkout was at 10) but if I hadn't had to boil the kettle for a wash maybe I would have been ready to leave by ten!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Needs some renovation and maintenance - The boiler went out twice on our short visit.
Reported 830 and replied/actioned at 11am.
Room’s can hear every pipe sound from other rooms
- sandra (4/5): - This place needs a complete refit. Although been clean on arrival.no other cleaning done for 4 days.
Also we had no hot water for 2 of the mornings we tried contacting the caretaker the first morning with no reply until 2 hours later he told us wait and hour should be ok..This guest house is a 20 min walk into town so having walked into town for breakfast had to walk back for a shower. On our last morning no hot water again tried contacting the caretaker again still waiting for a reply the day after we are home.
Overall very poor
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice and comfy guest house - The staff is super nice and helpful, especially with check in hours.
The guest house is very well located, near the city center (about 15 min on foot).
The room was nice and comfy and we will definitely go back there for a future trip.
Overall, we're super happy with our stay in Saint Helier.
- John (6/5): A good place to land - A little disconcerting when you show up and there’s a local number to call to be able to get in. The owner responded quickly, however, and all in we were only waiting a short time. The room was a decent size, and clean. The beds were bouncy, but comfortable.
- Geoffrey (6/5): - Its a 2 Star Property at best. Very Basic Guest House With No One on the property. I'd Say it's just a room rather than a Guest House As it had no other Facilities. Had to ring for the Caretaker and wait 15 mins to come and let me in. On Leaving Thier was no one to see you out or collect the key ? Wudnt Recomend this Room for Rent. but Jersey Is a Lovely Place to come to.
- Paul (4/5): - Apart from the wife who drove out to meet us, as postcode did not match property address. We saw no members of staff ! Walls were paper thin. Stairs creaked and doors banged in early hours. All of building outdated and in need of redecorating and complete refresh. Hot tap in bathroom didn’t work and the same with light above mirror. Blinds in room don’t keep out the light and large Iron burn of carpet!!
- Michael Eric (6/5): - A nice building in a nice area. Short walk to the city center.
- Megan (10/5): - Very good for the price. Easy walk to the center of town and the beaches. Nice hosts and very accommodating. Quiet street. Very safe. My only recommendation is that they use less furniture in the rooms as it felt crowded
- Verified traveler (2/5): Avoid - Nobody at the property outwith the stated check in hours don't come early as you can't get in or leave your bags. Bed was uncomfortable, the pillows too(one completely flat one lumpy) broken blind, TV broke down, bathroom so small you can't get dried without the door open! The room was extremely "tired" looking...uneven floorboards, dated decor....
Definitely the worse accommodation we have stayed in, we left after the first night!
Only plus was the staff who were friendly and helpful - once you got them to answer the phone!
- Karthikah (6/5): nice cute place - The shower head was extremely slow and leaky making it hard to take a bad.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Well done - It is very good and nice.
- M (10/5): - The room was very clean and spacious and the bed very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again
- Adam (8/5): Cheap Room in Jersey - Lovely room. Was only in it for a couple of hours but great for that short period.
Friendly host.
