- Newton Cook (6/5): Great Price, Slightly dated, and needs a bit of polishing. - The restaurant was great, food was yum, and reasonably priced and cool vibe, staff super helpful, the parrot/bird is quite cool and unique There was quite a bit of consttruction going on throughout the hotel, but the corridors were quite dark, lots of ceiling tiles missing or damaged, not sure if that was part of the construction/maintenance or not.

The location of the Angus Hotel is very convenient as the Queensquart shopping mall is in close proximity to the hotel, as is the New World Supermarket and Woolworths Supermarket . Better lighting and warmth in the hallways. As it was quite cold walking down the hallways and lighting quite dim . However this may have been due to renovations taking place. Also would have loved to have had Sky: Sky Sports on the Television

- Milly (8/5): Convenient and easy - Convenient location for a quick overnight stay while visiting family member in Lower Hutt hospital. Great to have restaurant on site with $15 discount voucher provided. Bathrooms a bit tired but they were clean and lovely soaps, shampoos and lotions provided.

The breakfast price not worth the amount. Menu prices a bit expensive. We struggled to get hot water. And the linen on the bed had stains on it. The rooms furniture definitely needs upgrading and the carpets were not very clean.

The bathroom was also newly fitted out with modern big shower, toilet and anti fog mirror. Lovely clean room. Bed was so comfy and big. I was also given a $15 credit voucher for if I dined in their restaurant that evening. When I turned up the outside looked a bit run down but then saw the sign saying the whole place is currently being refurbished. I walked into my room and wow! It was beautiful they have done the rooms first and the exterior is next.

- Chris (8/5): Travelling in Wellington - It was okak! Very quite! Bar did not open until 2.00pm and meals until 4.30pm. For people travelling who had been on the road all day, we went elsewhere for both, so we could have a very early night.

- Ray (10/5): Amazing Angus - The Angus was in a perfect location , walking distance to everything, train station, shopping other bars and you can just park your car at the!premises and save on fuel not having to drive. The food was great and the staff very accommodating, I only stayed one night my sister's wedding reception was held there but next time I will bring my wife and stay longer. - Catherine (10/5): I like to return. - The staff greet and talk with you, as does Pickles the parrot. The buffet breakfast and dinner and bar at night alongside the staff are really great. It’s close to the Mall and other shops.
- Nick (6/5): good except for the water. - The location was close to the Interislander terminal, and they offered a late check in so that I was able to get sleep after my late ferry arrival. The hot water did not work at 2am. I had been driving all day and felt dirty. The beds looked so nice and clean so I wanted to be clean in bed, but there was no not water. When I woke at 8am there was hot water. I suspect that the operations team are turning off the hot water late at night to save power, but guests are entitled to have a shower at any hour of the day that they please.

- Adrian (9/5): We stay there due to proximity to Queensgate. - We have stayed here many times and enjoy the closeness of the hotel to Queensgate shopping centre. Increase the amount of milk given to each room especially when arriving late. We struggled to make a cup of coffee each that night with the pitiful milk supplied.

- Jeffery D (4/5): - The location is excellent we booked in for the evening meal with 3 guests and found the restaurant is in need of a refit. The menu should reflect the cooks ability to cook and the meals we received were of a low quality. We found the same with the breakfast a month ago. There was only one other group dinning.

- Neti (9/5): Good place, low cost and excellent location - Comfy beds and bit more room to move around. Location fits well with the plan of my itinerary and closer to amenities. The shower was probably one issue with the water splashing over the floor.
- Catherine (8/5): I return a lot. - I had a really comfortable room and a good nights sleep. There are even French doors to a little outside space with seats. The restaurant was great for a buffet breakfast and dinner too. Nice welcoming friendly staff and easy access with carparks.

- kamar (2/5): - Bed was comfortable Sadly, I booked a room, and they said Garden View was looking at a car park not a garden. Requested room with bath, got shower and staff was lovely moved to room with bath but was changed to not a king deluxe room now had a double and single bed in room, for 2. Photos don't show complete room. Otherwise, I'd never have come. The bathroom is very small, and there no fan for ventilation. The entire bathroom becomes like a steam room. The sink in the bedroom looks like a bathroom sink. Only 4 coffee packets for 2 people meant that we got 1 coffee when we arrived and 1 coffee in the morning. Went out in the evening for a couple of hours to arrive back, not realizing we needed to wash and dry our 2 cups before as arrived back with a lovely visit from ants along the bench where the sink was. Only 2 towels given so expected we only have 1 shower while staying each, yes we did request some more towels. No ventilation in the room woke up with stuffy hot air. The fan in the room was broken at the back, so we didn't feel safe using it. Burn marks in carpet and outside door opening to a carport, not a garden, as booked, was dirty and full of leaves. Sadly, our stay was not enjoyable, and for $180, it was well below what they said they offered to what you get.
