• Lisa (2/5): - Worse place ive every stayed at was dirty depressing and uncomfortable. The bed was like a sofa bed that had parts messing and broken. The blinds parts where missing the window didnt close properly so had to use a towel to stop the draft as the bed was neara it. Theres marks on the floor tiles cracked. The bedding look like its seen better days pillow and duvet was flat. Didnt dare use the shower,left my shoes one all the time i was there. The room overall was depressing no pictures are colours. Walking to the room was dirty things on the floor even seen a peanut, headband. Will not be coming again.

• Royston (2/5): - all the hotels i stayed in i say in at least 2 a month over five years and alot in hi class hotels never had any noise complaints or any other complaints all i ask for a room change as the room did`t have a window in room 5 i was told no as they was a window in the bathroom you dont sleep in the bathroom then through night i had tv on low as that help me to sleep and when i am awake i talk to myself as self i mean talking not shouting twice the manger knock on my door telling mee stop talking but not to turn the tv down i was not talking any lounder then the tv the wall are thin they are not soundproof as they make a double room in to two single to make more profit if i was loud then the tv was Loud the monger not once ask for tv to be turn down or off i am disabled were i alway have my disabled bus pas round my next were i saying unsafe i was wearing a rainbow hat and rainbow shoe laces and rainbow cardholder for bus pass when i checked it as it was gay pride week end that make me wounder in the morning they ask my to leave as they said i classed as a high risk with no refund i said no as i know i done nothing wrong and said issue is with them room not me and said change my room they lough and said no if you dont leave i will ring the police i said due that and they did when the police arrived as the police put me in the car plus wait for suitcase the manger was out side winding me up police give him a warning told him to move

• Julie (4/5): Website photos deceptive! - Up on arrival we were greeted with a friendly welcome. However, once we entered the room it was a shock, it was extremely small. Also, in poor decorative condition. The toilet & shower did not have doors, instead there was a curtain! The bed was uncomfortable & because one side of the bed was pushed against the wall if you wanted to get out, you had to be careful not to bash your head on the small TV which was attached to the wall, at the end of the bed. The lights over the bed & sink they were poorly fitted hence why they probably didn't work! Only a small single wardrobe for 2 people. The kettle could not be boiled on the shelf provided as the lead could not reach the plug. The hotel appeared to house homeless residents. This would be ok if thats what this hotel is only used for. However, when the hotel is booking rooms for the general public then we should be made aware of their clientele. Paying an extra £20 to park ontop of what we paid was disgusting. We could have stayed in a Premier inn!

• Pauline (2/5): - Dear Sir or MAdam, The accommodation was scruffy and dirty, to the point where I had to have medical treatment, including steriods and anti - biotices due to sustaining bites all over my body from a dirty mattrass that had stains on it. Even the wall next to my bed had scratch marks on it. The shower had dirty bits in it too. The carpet in the room was dirty and had dirt marks on it, next to the bed. The bedding was years old and smelled musty. I spent 3 days in bed, due to the effect of the bites. I would like my money back. I look forward to your response. Thank you. Yours sincerely Pauline
• Darren (8/5): - The staff are very helpful and polite. The room was basic but this is all i needed. The bed was comfy and showet adequate.. the sausage/bacon and egg rolls in the morning are great value and fully recommend them. I would definitely try and stop there again if i was stopping in Nottingham.

• Pavla (2/5): - Booked four rooms at this hotel for a group travelling for work. They fed back to me that their rooms were dirty (beds looked as though they had already been slept in and the carpets were sticky!) The staff didn't look up to acknowledge them when they checked out, probably didn't want to deal with the negative response they knew they would get if they asked if everything had been alright. AVOID STAYING HERE if you have the choice.
• Mapi (10/5): - Location was amazing. There is a supermarket just crossing the avenue, a pub 1 block and a half away and the bus station just in front of the hotel main entrance. The Mr. At the front desk is lovely, he recommends places to visit and he is kind. Also, he got me a taxi and talked to me until the taxi arrived.

• Verified traveler (2/5): Refurb needed. - Matress was old had to sleep on pillows to get any comfort. Staff lovely and very helpful. Rotten wood at shower entrance. With a little refurb it would be a good room. Busy location but no noise issues. Must remember this is a low budget hotel. No frills but would expect a descent clean mattress. Tea, coffee and kettle on narrow sloping shelf a potential hazard. Lovely welcome by staff. But l needed a good comfortable nights sleep which I failed to get.

• Mohammed (2/5): Waste of money! very poor stay! - Arrived and stayed in room 24, I found the window blinds had some missing and all the homes facing the hotel could see into my room. Around 6pm some guy started burning wood outside im the back garden stinking up my room with smoke smell. I stayed for only 5.5 hrs and left early to sleep on the close by park instead.

Perhaps it was just bad luck on my part but I arrived at 1730 to hear rather passionate love making from one of the rooms. I then heard the same at two hourly intervals all of the second night. Perhaps some sound proofing wouldn’t go amiss as the low price point clearly attracts ‘lovebirds’ Good location and parking available.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Gets the basics wrong but some nice touches - As this is a hotel review, I feel I can't give a positive review if I didn't get a good night's sleep for reasons that are within the hotel's control. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable. The memory foam mattress seemed to have remembered someone else's shape. It possibly remembered their shape whilst they were sitting on the bed, as you'd need to in order to watch the television, rather than lying down. Across the length of the mattress, my feet were far higher than my head. Across the width of the mattress, the sides were far higher than the middle. The vertical blinds didn't completely close and there weren't any curtains. In the Winter this wasn't a problem. In the Summer, if you were hoping to sleep past sunrise, it would be. The hotel does have lots of nice touches I've never seen at a hotel with less than four stars before. It had tissues, a flannel, a glass as well as a mug, and body lotion. Unfortunately, there were a few more errors. My room had two small spotlights and a dim light above the bed but no main light. You could call this relaxing mood lighting, but hardly any light above the desk made it difficult to read leaflets or plan your day out. I can't fault the work of the cleaner who prepared my room for me. This room desperately needed a deep clean though. It had the dirtiest remote control I've seen. There was a lot of brown visible dirt on the side of the desk. This isn't visible when you walk into the room but is facing you when you're in bed.

• James (10/5): Excellent Budget Hotel - I love this hotel. It’s friendly and affordable with FREE parking, on a bus route 10 mins from city centre. No food provided but it is literally surrounded by nice places to eat or takeaway.

It looked like they were having some decorating done, but it didn't cause any problems. I would visit again.

If you want luxury & silence in your room, this isn't the place for you but if you want somewhere clean with all the basics and friendly staff for an overnight stay this is perfect. We had a double room with ensuite, all clean, tidy and comfortable. It had all of the basics we needed for an overnight visit. The staff are all lovely and so helpful. If you don't fancy the stroll to the center there is a bus stop right outside or reception will call you a cab. They don't service food but that's not an issue as there is a great cafe across the road for breakfast along with a Chinese, Indian and Pub. There is also a Lidl, small local convenience store and a coop all straight across the road so you definitely will not starve. This will now be our go to place to stay on future trips. Nice to support a small business instead of the big chains we often use.
• Bryan (8/5): - The Cotswold Hotel is a nice option to stay in Nottingham on a budget. The bus that runs to the city centre is right next to and across the street from the hotel. The staff is also friendly and helpful.

This is my go to place when in Nottingham for a night out ; being a frequent traveller I have to budget so I m very satisfied with everything , the price, the supermarket and the dinning options just over the road, the easiness to get to the centre, roughly 25 minutes walk of a few minutes bus ride . The bathroom , although small (as expected) was squeaky cleanl; The room itself will get you dated ( I don t care about this aspect ) but functional furniture , had a few hours of good sleep, I ll definitely be back agai; The staff are so friendly , you won t find this quite everywhere

• Verified traveler (6/5): - You can't expect luxury at this bargain price, so it depends what you're after. For us, the room was perfectly ok as we just needed somewhere to sleep. The beds were comfortable and the shower was good. The room was just a bit rough round the edges, needs a good clean and a bit of a refurb but we didn't really care, it was clean enough for us but if you're a bit of a clean freak then avoid it, not to be stereotypical but it was like staying at a bloke who lives alone's house. The staff were very friendly though, the internet was good and it's only 25 min walk to the city centre at a third of the price.
