Guest Reviews
- Petra (3/5): -

- Joey (10/5): perfect - everything, the staff were amazing and it was in a nice and safe neighborhood the room could've been larger given the amount I paid for

- Diana (8/5): Nice area to stay, rooms are too small - Great location The rooms are too small
- SIMON (6/5): - The hotel is in a great location. Bed was comfortable and friendly staff. Overall It doesn’t feel like a luxury hotel. Very pricey for what they really offer. Rooms are not so spacious and inward looking rooms feel a bit closed.
- Trevor (10/5): - Excellent location. Carlos at reception was especially helpful. We will be back.
- Steve (10/5): - wonderful staff, gourmet restaurants, pretty interior. A must when visiting mexico city.
- Gilbert (7/5): Beautiful hotel in a great neighborhood. Please work on your refund process - Beautiful hotel (the design aesthetic was amazing), good dining options (including a great coffee shop), solid location. I prepaid for transportation to and from the airport. We ultimately had to book an uber back to the airport because the driver didn’t show, and despite weeks of back and forth on WhatsApp, they never refunded me.
- Danilo (10/5): - Hotel and Staff are amazing!
- Chris (4/5): - The hotel itself is good, the rooms have a very bad pluming smell. They know about it as they have odor devices around. When I checked in my room smell like it had just been sprayed with ambientalizer and the balcony doors were open. Despite this when I complaint they claim they were not aware about it. After, I heard another guest complained I request a room change as the smell was really bad, they told me they were sold out but would give me a dinner on the house.
Even though I appreciate the gesture that does not compensate having to sleep and wake up with a room smelling so bad for the price per night we paid.
No room change or night compensation, not aceptable for the severity of the smell.
- Kristin (10/5): - Lovely friendly service and excellent breakfast

- CHRISTINA (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay the staff on arrival was so amazing with drinks for us. We were early and they accommodated us to get us in our room early. The room was so nice and well organized. Our balcony view was amazing and relaxing.
- Sergio (10/5): Memorable - Everything! Food at Aquiles
- Morgan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): boutique hotel with exceptional service. - This hotel was a very beautiful place. I was impressed by the high quality of the staff and customer support. I highly recommend the hotel. The complimentary dinner was really amazing as well.
- Helga (9/5): Superb - Very nice hotel, perfect location. Wonderful staff Mainly good :)
- Shreya (4/5): Loud music every night - The hotel was clean and nice. Good location and service. There is a rooftop lounge that plays very loud music until midnight every night. They give you ear plugs as if the issue is solved (although very nice ear plugs), but you can still feel the vibrations.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (9/5): Superb -
- Candice (8/5): Check w/ hotel to see if there will be a loud event before booking over a weekend - Nice room and amenities. Beautiful building. Very lovely staff. Well-located. VERY loud. I booked a weekend stay and on Fri and Sat night there was some kind of event on the roof playing extremely loud, thumping club music until late that I could easily hear in my room. The staff was apologetic and moved me to a quieter room for the rest of my stay but this was not what I expected.
- JUAN MANUEL (10/5): - Bien
- Lisa (8/5): Casona staff were tremendously friendly and kind, and our week in this very clean and hospitable hotel made our trip a j - I loved the location of the hotel on a corner, leafy street, near great restaurants, and walking distance to many sites. The doors are thin and any hallway noise—people talking—is heard clearly. Plus, one night there was extremely loud music and big banging, like someone was moving furniture, from upstairs on the rooftop.
- Luis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (10/5): Chic and Super Comfortable Stay - Our stay at Casona was fantastic. The interior design is beautiful and so stylish from the artwork to the rooms, everything was chosen with care. I love design and enjoyed all of the little details. Make sure to visit the gorgeous coffee/matcha shop. The neighborhood and location are great and very walkable. What puts this place over the top though, is the staff. Communication was flawless and each person we interacted with was so warm and helpful. A huge shoutout to Ricardo and Chico for going above and beyond to help us wrap some art we purchased to make sure it traveled well. Brenda and Liv were also so sweet and helpful! CDMX has no shortage of beautiful hotels, but I would definitely stay here again.
- Georjeana (9/5): Casona offers a really special boutique experience in a walkable location near cultural hotspots - Really amazing elements packed into a beautifully boutique hotel. Multiple delicious and aesthetically stunning restaurants are located within the hotel itself, including a great rooftop deck and bar, 24 hour room service, the PERFECT location for walking around town (just a few minutes walk to Contramar - a CDMX must-try seafood restaurant), and exceptionally helpful/kind staff -- what more could you ask for. Also very reasonably priced when we went. A MUCH better alternative to the Ritz or Sofitel which felt very generic and Americanized. Also those were in a not as interesting part of town in my opinion. Casona is walking distance to those hotels/park/museums, while also feeling authentic and closer to the culture/people/cool restaurants. The room was a little small for two -- bare minimum in terms of space (SF, closet, etc.), but that being said it was very nicely decorated. The hotel is also like a big house, so in terms of noise you can kind of hear everything. It didn't really bother us but it doesn't feel quite as private in your rooms as a result.
- Karl (8/5): Very good -
- Emily (9/5): Superb - I don't normally write reviews, but the staff at this hotel when above and beyond to make our short stay a really wonderful experience. They were true exceptional.
- Richard (7/5): Good -
- Bridget (2/5): Awful Experience - Unfortunately the most awful hotel experience we've ever had. Save yourself the stress and avoid at all costs.
Starting with the check-in, our room wasn't ready until 2.5 hours past the check-in time because of an unorganized cleaning schedule. Not a big deal, but for a "luxury" hotel, they should be on top of this stuff.
Then we came home from dinner to the loudest music we've ever heard. There is no sound-proofing in these rooms (you can hear even a footstep in the hall) so the music was deafening in the room. We could barely hear ourselves speak, let alone sleep. We were told it was a private party... so not even a hotel restaurant or bar that we could enjoy ourselves.
The following morning we wanted to leave the hotel because of how terrible the day before was. They convinced us to stay, assuring us that there would be no music that next night. This turned out to be a complete lie because there was in fact another private party. Same experience with blasting music until late in the night.
Two awful sleeps, in this "luxury" "wellness" hotel, so finally we checked out early the next day and went to a different hotel. Just overall super disappointing.
- David (2/5): - We wanted a boutique hotel in the hip district of Roma Norte. When we got there, there was a private party going on with a blasting DJ. We were informed it would continue until 12 am which it did. Granted it was Saturday night, but there was no regard for the guests. Our room was shaking it was so loud. The room itself was clean and modern but tiny. For the price they are charging (this was the week between Christmas and New Years) you are clearly paying for the location. Our room was also very cold without any easy way to adjust the temperature control. Needless to say we didn’t get a wink of sleep that night. We woke up Sunday morning to what sounded like moving furniture. We decided to leave the hotel even though we had 4 more days booked. We found a luxury hotel chain (JW Marriott) in the Polanco neighborhood which was cheaper and had excellent service. Bottom line, unless you’re 25 years old with a ton of money to burn and don’t care about sleeping don’t do it. Doesn’t work for couples or families - what a disappointment!
- danoosh (4/5): - Too expensive for its quality and lots of rooms they smell.
- EDWARD (10/5): Excelente Hotel! Muchas gracias!
- Joel (9/5): Superb - Great location. Excellent design. Wonderful staff.
- Dan (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful hotel, all new and exceptionally clean. Staff were absolutely fab and pampering. Great location.
- Dr (5/5): Hotel was new and not ready for English speaking firsts - Beautiful decor but it did not make up for the eye watering rate for the hotel with very little to offer accept a beautifully decorated space. It is a new and small boutique hotel that is not value for money. I had an experience that was extremely unpleasant and shocked me to the core. I arrived on Thursday evening at Casona Roma Norte. The woman working at front desk was unable to process payment for 3 nights on my card as their speed point was new and could only accept a four digit pin. They insisted that I had to draw cash from an ATM or give them dollars. They claimed that all their guests had cards that accepted 4 digit pins and had never seen a VISA card that had 5 digit pin. I explained that the VISA card is international and that I had traveled all over the world (including Mexico in the last few days) and had had no difficulty. The staff working that night asked the duty manager if it was possible to send me a payment link but apparently the request was declined. They were not willing to wait till following morning for another staff member (who apparently had the skills) to help process the payment. They insisted that I otherwise could not stay in the hotel. I was at pains to explain that Booking.com would take payment for the 3 nights in any event if I was a “no show”. Eventually after 2 hours of being made to feel like it was my fault that they were unable to process the payment, one of their colleagues arrived and she was able to adjust the speed point to accept a 5 digit pin. It was extremely distressing with me trying to call home and reach my banker at 4am in my time zone. All the staff were apologetic and tried to make amends but no one from the management team reached out to me and took responsibility for the incident.
- Katherine (10/5): Quiet luxury - perfect for our long weekend away - We picked this hotel on a whim and were blown away by our stay at Hotel la Casona. The hotel itself was brimming with style and charm, art and local texture, all the markers of a boutique hotel in a quiet but accessible neighborhood. The staff were warm, welcoming, and professional. We felt as if our every need was accounted for and enjoyed the small touches of luxury like turn down service w pastries each night. We could not have enjoyed our stay more and I could not feel more compelled (due to my positive experience) to write this review, especially as this was a new hotel. Everything was in a word, delightful.
- Elizabeth (9/5): My 10 day stay was great. The service was excellent. Special thanks to Chico who suggested restaurants, places to visit - Location, food, rooms and service. The noise you can hear in the rooms that face the main restaurant, especially when they’re running events.
- Pablo (6/5): - The recently renovated rooms are really nice. The staff was very professional and accommodating. Since they just opened, they’re still working out a few things, working up to full menus and services, etc. My room’s windows all faced out to the main restaurant below, which meant live music until close to midnight and prep work started at 6 am. Definitely not a restful sleep, despite the very comfortable bed.
- Bruno (6/5): Great potential but lots of improvements needed. - That property just opened a month prior to my visit.
Beautiful property overall but disappointing on many levels:
- The staff felt unprepared and not efficient at all. They tried to be welcoming but the result felt too stuffy and not sincere.
- The "deluxe" room I paid for was very nice but had absolutely no view and the door did not close properly.
- Their sushi place "Suchi" was a disgrace to the Japanese cuisine even though they said it was a fusion between Japan and Sinaloa. Out of the 3 items I ordered
none of them were good and enjoyable. I told the GM the following day. He told me he would later taste the 3 items I ordered but I never heard back from him.
- Maria (10/5): - Excellent
