Guest Reviews
- Marlene (9/5): The Snug - Very home from home lovely and clean Well we found the TV not good it was all Sky channels and with us been in are late years couldn't seem to get are normal channels ITV and B B C
- Paul (10/5): -
- Christopher (9/5): Fabulous - The Snug is a fabulous quirky accommodation. Lovely and clean and everything there you needed. Great to have secure parking space too. Walking distance to 4 local pubs serving food. We had trouble getting in. The wrong entry number was given to us to get into the gate. Then we had problems with the keypad to get into the property.
- Paul (10/5): Well equipped, clean, comfortable and centrally located - Very clean and comfortable. Well equipped and in a central location within the village. Excellent communication and clear check in instructions. Highly recommended and would stay there again. Nothing.
- David (10/5): - Superb property in a superb location. It was ideal, nothing to dislike,
- White (9/5): A Delightful Snug Hideaway - The Snug was beautifully presented and immaculately clean. There were lots of individual touches to the decor. The location was perfect for us. We would definitely like to return in the future.
Just a few comments/suggestions:
The pillows looked amazing, but were so thick and solid it was difficult to get comfortable!
It would have been good to have had kitchen towels provided.
Health & Safety:
As an older person recovering from a fall, it would have been helpful to have had a bannister of some sort?
The floor of the shower was very slippery - but we bought and left a non-slip mat.
None of these is a criticism! We loved the cottage and had a great stay! Thank you. Nothing.
- Ela (8/5): Too many middle man managing this property - The place is very nice, wonderfully presented. Too many middle men managing this property!. My full payment was taken at the moment of booking, 19 days before stay, yet up to two days before my stay I was bothered by Host&Stay regarding payment. I got altogether 20 emails saying my card wasn't valid. Yet in the meantime the same card was used for another reservation via Booking.com (on 13 July). H&Stay insisted on updating my card on their web, which I didn't like. I checked my bank and proved to H& Stay that Skelton GBR took full payment on their behalf at the moment of booking.
It ruined many days of my holiday. I didn't get even one word of apology.
- Ian (8/5): Comfortable and we'll equipped house in quiet location. - Very good location in a quiet courtyard with separate parking for the house. Peaceful patio garden despite being in the centre of town. The key code for the house was only sent 6 hours before arrival when we were already travelling. It woulf be better sent 24 hours before arrival in case of mobile phone issues.
- Laura (8/5): Comfortable stay in lovely house near to Flamborough Head and RSPB Bempton - Very clean house with quirky decor which is tucked away in a small gated development in the centre of Hunmanby.
The kitchen was spacious and well equipped. Two toilets( on each floor) and a bath as well as a shower.
Pleasant private patio for sitting outside.
Well situated for exploring East Yorkshire coast The digital entrance to the property was 9 characters long and involved checking phone every time that we had correct code. I think this would be difficult at night.
- Gillian (10/5): A gem of a property. I hope I get the chance to return to. - Clean, comfortable and relaxing property with luxury finishes where they count.
- Caroline (10/5): Beautiful property, very clean, cute and quirky!! - Our 2nd time staying at the snug, it’s such a cute quirky property, and very clean.
Very comfortable beds and lovely little touches like few toiletries, etc.
We will most definitely returning in the future. The walk to the car park area could do with some more lighting/ to be a bit brighter as when it was dark my son walked into the flower beds and injured his legs (on first visit). But was aware of this on our last stay.
- Jonathon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frances (10/5): A wonderfully warm welcome on an otherwise wet, foggy & grey weekend - It was a beautifully presented, homely cottage full of personality & individual touches that you don’t often see in a holiday home.
We felt instantly welcomed & comfortable as soon as we walked through the door It’s a little way from the parking space to the cottage to unload/load the car
- John (9/5): Superb - Having to pay for damage insurance and constantly being reminded of any damages during stay. I feel that this should be automatically included and you should be made aware when doing initial booking.
- Linda (10/5): A lovely stay to celebrate a milestone birthday 🎂 - Lovely cottage ,beautiful decor. In a lovely place ,nice outdoor space. Nothing
- Lauren (10/5): Relaxing, convenient, spotless and a real treat. - The Snug is a real gem. It’s unique in its style-luxurious, clean and has beautiful art work scattered around. There was real attention to detail. The sofas were super comfortable and the bed allowed us a brilliant nights sleep. The kitchen has everything you need and more. It’s in a fabulous location and we will definitely be back. It’s the sort of place that you exhale as you enter. We’d highly recommend.
- Rob (10/5): Great little find. Lovely and charming property - Very clean and well equipped house. Everything on your doorstep for pubs and shops. N/a
- Frank (10/5): Cute and cozy getaway - We had the most gorgeous time at The Snug for a long weekend break. It is beautifully decorated, with a full and well kitted out kitchen, ample living area, picturesque terrace and comfy bedrooms. The cottage is airy and light, thanks to the skylights upstairs and bay window in the dining space. The added bonus of good shower downstairs was welcome too. A Nespresso coffee machine was such a treat. There are so many personal touches throughout the house which makes it really special.
We were blessed with lovely weather, so ate breakfast on the terrace and enjoyed the sunshine. The local beach was fun for a picnic - there were lots of families and dogwalkers which entertained our toddler. We also had the best fish and chips I've ever tasted at the local chippy (Inghams fish restaurant) - definitely worth it if you love a light, crispy batter! Upon our way home, we stopped at Sewerby Hall and Gardens, which was wonderful. A mere 20 minutes drive away. We recommend the land train from there to Bridlington for a fun beach and promenade outing!
Thank you so much. It was a beautiful break for a little family.
- Nicola (10/5): Beautiful cottage on the North Yorkshire coast - We had such a wonderful stay at The Sung it’s hard to know where to start - this is not your average holiday home, easily the best holiday rental we have been to.
As soon as you enter you get a real sense of cosy luxury. It’s obvious the owners have poured lots of love into the place as it’s filled with stunning pieces of furniture, art work and even some of the owners own pottery pieces. The whole house is beautifully decorated.
We didn’t have great weather but the house has everything you could need and we enjoyed a cosy evening in with the electric log burner, bottle of wine and a film.
We visited The Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery which has a wonderful cafe serving lunch and afternoon tea (although you must book for this) and The Piebald Inn which serves over 50 pies! The two we chose were both delicious! Both were a short walk from The Snug. From Hunmanby Gap you can walk in both directions along the beach with miles of amazing views.
If you’re looking for a stay which feels a bit special, this is the place you need to book. We will definitely be booking again.
Thank you to the owners for a wonderfully relaxing stay.
