Guest Reviews
- chris (10/5): Exceeded out expectations! - We have a fantastic mid-week stay from start to finish.
The house is absolutely beautiful, somehow better than the photos! The property was immaculate and filled with essentials from glassware to utensils and a bonus large air fryer which we found useful.
Super comfortable beds and the attention to detail was impressive throughout the house, fresh flowers, prosecco and milk on arrival.
Each room had a wonderful selection of curated items that made our stay feel even more luxurious, we will definitely be coming back! No complaints!
- Ryan (10/5): Great property, we had a fantastic Easter thank you - Lovely original features, well equipt No frying pan was the only issue encountered
- robert (8/5): Very high spec. Nice touches, such as bottle of wine and flowers. Lots of tvs! Also an Alexa. If you don’t fancy walking - Well appointed. Spacious. Good views from upstairs. Due to location ,difficult to park if more than one vehicle. One space reserved.
- Elaine (9/5): Pleasant 2 night stay , lovely property . - Good size , very clean , great layout ,
- Wayne (8/5): -
- David (8/5): Very enjoyable despite the weather. - Very nice interior design. Well appointed with quality items. Comfortable, warm surroundings. Great views. Parking is a bit of a challenge. Would have been nice to have kinderling and fire lighters for the lounge wood burner.
- Simon (10/5): -
- Tina (10/5): Fantastic accommodation - It was fantastic. The accommodation was beautiful with lots of extras. The hosts go over and above. There is nothing that you need and is so comfortable. I didn't want to leave. Nothing to dislike
- Lucy (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): -
- Marcina (7/5): Comfy, good location at the top of a hill - Fully equipped
Victorian style and very clean. Beautiful bathroom and kitchen No outside space
- Diane (10/5): - Absolutely stunning property well furnished and everything you could possibly need. Immaculately clean and the hosts left a lovely welcome gift of milk Prosecco, crisps and flowers. Would definitely stay again
- Mark (2/5): Great property, awful customer service - Great location for vehicular travel around the locality. Very nicely appointed property. Peaceful part of Matlock, and a short walk to a nice little pub. Customer service is awful. Duplicate charges made without authorisation and not (yet) paid back despite numerous promises. No way of contacting them directly. Significantly tarnished our view of the property
Single parking space to rear of property is helpful, but not easy to access in a large vehicle.

- Carole (9/5): A Hidden Gem - A beautiful house set about half a mile from the town centre at the top of a very steep hill, beware not for the faint hearted! The house is furnished to perfection with lovely finishing touches and everything we could need for our stay. We had a very comfortable stay and will most certainly return. There is one parking space to the rear of the property which is reasonably easy to access but in my experience a nightmare to get out of. Next time I think I'll stick to parking on the road outside the property which didn't appear to be a problem.
- Catherine (10/5): Beautiful homely house beds super comfortable and hosts had left us wine and milk - It was stunning and very comfortable Nothing to dislike
- Simon (10/5): perfect - Amazing house with everything you need nothing
- Leanne (9/5): Beautiful house with lovely features. - The property was fabulous. It felt like a home, lovely decor, comfy beds, plenty of space and parking on the doorstep. There were flowers, biscuits, milk and prosecco in the fridge on arrival which was a lovely touch. There was everything that you needed if you wanted to stay in and cook too. We loved staying here and would definitely return in the near future.
- Emma (6/5): - The presentation and the decor was lovely, it had a lovely deep bath and lots of modern appliances My sleep was awful, the main bedroom at the front has NO curtains or black out blinds. The blinds thst are there are normal day blinds. Therefor as soon as it gets light outside from about 4am the Erin is light up like daytime. Also the road noise is bad.
The owners really should get some black out curtains because l felt ill will how little sleep l got
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning property with gorgeous views.
- Jones (9/5): A lovely house for a stay in the Peak District -
- Stuart (9/5): Superb - Great house, very clean and spacious, 2 good pubs close by. Great walks in the area. Pretty steep hill down to Matlock.
- Emma (10/5): Really enjoyed our stay, ourselves and our 4 children loved the house. - The house was beautiful and perfect location No downstairs toilet
- Tiffany (10/5): Lovely family break in Matlock - The property was even better than the photos! Beautifully decorated with comfortable bedrooms and cozy shared spaces.
- Kate (9/5): Superb - The property is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Would recommend the house to others. It doesn’t have a garden area, but it’s very conveniently located and has stunning views
- Bunston (8/5): Very good - Lots of space, everything you needed from a holiday home was there.Beautiful house. Host left us extras what was a lovely surprise .wine, cookies and milk.
Host was very quick to answer when I contacted them. My bed sadly was the worst I ever slept in. It was like sleeping on a sponge. Every time I moved I sank into the bed. and the pillows were the same. The other two beds were fine.
- Mark (10/5): Amazing - Excellent property
- Dean (9/5): Spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated and lovely property - Very easy to access the property and was lovely inside home from home feeling as soon as you walk through the door
Would definitely recommend and stay again Nothing really it is a steep hill from the town centre as people have mentioned but there is a frequent bus that stops a few minutes walk away if required.
We parked at the front the first evening no problem and moved around the back the next day, some people have mentioned it’s a bit tight but not a problem for most confident drivers I have 3 series BMW saloon and wasn’t a problem.
- Sarah (10/5): Relaxing, beautiful house, perfectly located. - A beautiful house that was well equipped with everything you could want and more. The house felt very relaxing and was very clean and well maintained. The milk, biscuits, wine and daffodils on arrival was a real surprise and a great welcome. The location was perfect for getting around the Peak District and we will definitely stay again when visiting the Peak District.
Parking was not an issue for us as you can park on Wellington Street or if not there is a parking space for the house at the back. It is a little tricky at first but my husband had a large ford wildtrack pickup and managed to park even at night in the dark, so I would not let that put me off at all, as the house more than makes up for it taking a extra few minutes to park.
- Patricia (9/5): An excellent property. A great deal of care taken to ensure guests have a good time. - Location good. Did not realise that we had the parking at the back until after we parked on road.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house with everything you could possibly need. Spotlessly clean. We had a rare family get-together for mums 85th birthday.Would definitely recommend thank you Was rather chilly on arrival seem to take ages to warm up.
- Shona (10/5): We had a lovely couple of days as there are some nice walks in the area. - The house was beautiful, spotlessly clean and very comfortable for 6 adults. Checking in was very easy as all the info needed was on the app. The house was up a very steep hill which made the walk back up from the centre of Matlock rather challenging. The parking at the back of the house was very tight, so not suitable for nervous drivers.
- Graydon (9/5): Accommodation is exactly as indicated in the details - Property was really lovely and well furnished with more than adequate facilities. Steep steps to the front of the properly proved a slight challenge with a pushchair, as did the steps at the rear of the property.
Property advertised as being able to cancel close to the arrival date which isn’t correct and payment has to be made within a fixed period prior to arrival which is non negotiable and non refundable. Prior to arrival further conformation was required of our details and a further payment for insurance which again wasn’t included in the original advert.
- Jed (8/5): Very good -
- Jenny (9/5): Lovely long weekend - The house is lovely and there was everything you needed plus more, the ensuite bathroom has a fixed electric tooth brush charger that I was surprised to see and in the kitchen a Ninja air fryer. As we were there for a long weekend we didn't cook and only used the toaster! If you were there longer it would be easy to cook for yourselves as it was well stocked with all the pots and pans etc. The parking is difficult as the space is to the rear of the property, down a narrow lane that isn't lit very well. Luckily we took my little Yaris so it was not too bad but I think you would struggle with a large car as there isn't any real turning places with the other cars parked down there. Also, you can't park outside the property as there's double yellow lines and the steps up to the property are quite steep and uneven so a bit difficult for anyone with mobility issues.
- Jan (10/5): Really pleased - Immaculate and clean and very comfortable
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional quality house with very friendly and helpful hosts. - The beautiful house and views. It was at the top of a very big hill which would not be ideal for people with poor mobility.
- Alison (10/5): Lovely house which is even better than the photos! - Beautifully furnished, well equipped. Comfortable beds and sofas
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rosanne (9/5): Superb - The property is beautiful, really well equipped and comfy !!
