Guest Reviews
- Debbie (10/5): - All good
- Sameh (10/5): - Comfortable stay, friendly staff, comfy beds
- Virginia (8/5): - everything was great. staff was friendly.
- Tini (4/5): - The staff was not very friendly. The room was not very nice.
- Sara (6/5): - Location and price were great. Only decaffeinated refills for coffee maker…water receptacle on coffee maker was not clean. “Ran out” of ice. Rooms have very thin walls. The room was very functional with a desk and two wingback chairs. Little fridge and microwave. Gorgeous view! Nice chairs outside the sliding glass door to sit out and enjoy our morning coffee. Parking right outside the door. Good value for the price we paid.
- paul (6/5): - Would not stay there again
- Petra (8/5): - Ideal for an overnight stay. Loved the porch with view of the lake.
- Lisa (4/5): - It was lovely to sit outside and see a view however, the room was full of mold and mildew. Made us sick. We could not sleep in it.
- Chantelle (8/5): - We liked this spot! Affordable, wonderful view, quiet, next to Tim Horton's, and very close to town. It's dated, but I can tell they are in the middle of major upgrades that I look forward to seeing next time! We enjoyed our stay very much.
- Ron (8/5): - Lovely view. A little dated and in a strange location to accwss the office overall it suited our needs
- Melinda (2/5): Dirty hotel room - do not stay - When I entered the room, there was a strong chemical smell. The carpet was not vacuumed, with little white specks all over the rugs. One of the chairs had rips, the other chair had a stain on the cushion. I went into the bathroom & lifted the bathtub mat & there are black circles stuck all over the bottom of the tub which looks very unsanitary. I lifted the comforter from the bed & there were hairs all over the white sheet on the bed. I told the lady at the front desk about these issues & requested to be moved to a different room but she said there are no other rooms available. She gave me a new bedsheet for the bed. I contacted Hotels.com & requested a refund as i didn't feel comfortable staying there. Hotels.com contacted the property & they declined to refund me. I had nowhere else to go, so I put the new sheet over the comforter on the bed & tried to sleep on it with all my clothes on. I could not sleep all night.
- laurie (4/5): - This property is very dated and they are doing a lot of repairs and construction. It would have been nice to know this a head of time!
- Kris (8/5): - Our stay was just overnight. The room was fairly clean and the property was quiet. There is some improvements being done.
- Gail (2/5): Disappointing Stay at the Baddeck Inn - We booked here because the price was reasonable and there was limited space anywhere in Baddeck for a three night stay.
The young lady that greeted us told us that she didn’t clean because she didn’t like going into the rooms with the guests things left in them. We would have to ask for more towels, coffee etc. if we wanted them…no phone to call the desk.
The room was not very clean, no hair dryer, didn’t use the air conditioner because it was covered in dust, screen door patched together, the walls were thin enough to hear the people in the next room and the free wifi was almost nonexistent.
When we went to check out, we were told to leave the key in the room with the door unlocked. Our receipt would be emailed, as we were told that the girl from the office, “wasn’t up yet.” I think even M&J would have looked for another Inn to spend the night.
We won’t ever return here.
- Alice (6/5): - The location is convenient as it is close to highway, near Tim Hortons and gas station, and 5-10 min to get into Baddeck. However, we did not have Wifi the first two days of our stay due to power outage issues in the area, and no solution for that.
Bathroom was clean, however the overall room had a lot of dust and cobwebs.
On the day we checked out, there was no instructions for check out, and as it was 7:30am, the office was closed and locked and no one responded to our phone message or calls when we wanted to know what to do with the key.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Go elsewhere. - Old & outdated, musty and dank. Property is not well-cared for compared to other motels nearby. Has a nice view of Lake Bras D’Or - except for the multitude of glamping platforms they’re building smack in the way. Bed was surprisingly comfortable & I didn’t see any bugs - but it had that vibe so I was keeping an eye out.
- Shaji (10/5): - Amenities were good for a budget hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- Mary (10/5): - Off the highway up a hill, so it was very quiet. Staff very friendly & helpful. Older building but very clean.
- YING (8/5): - Good location, good value for the money
- Dawn (4/5): - Construction happening , so a Work in progress, No effort put into grounds to make them appealing . Room was clean , beds comfortable , mini fridge and microwave provided. Plus coffee bar. Quiet area.
So no major concerns, suited us fine .
- Martin (10/5): - Endroit tranquille et grande chambre très belle vu sur l’eau
- Isabelle (2/5): - This was a last minute booking and everything about this place is terrible except for the view of the lake. The motel is old, dated, not clean, the front desk staff is rude, the rooms smell musty. The place is in dire needs of a big time upgrade.
- Unni (6/5): - Comfortable stay. No streaming on TV. Washroom fan was noisy.
- Lester (6/5): - Outdated but not bad for an overnight stay. Wouldn't recommend for any longer.
- Catherine (8/5): - No food on site , Tim Hortons a short distance away.
Room was clean an comfortable, but dated could use a makeover. On the plus side there were 2 comfortable chaies to sit in.Internet worked fine.
But the walls were very thin, could hear every time our neighbor ran water or flushed toilets. Also their kids running around the room sounded like they were coming through the walls.
- Kevin (6/5): - What could be a fine property has not been cared for and now there's a number of glamping sites being constructed. Briana was good to work with and responded especially well to the ongoing loss of power and internet. But her hands were tied. It seems the owners are giving up on the Inn idea and switching to the glamping one. Too bad because it has a great location overlooking Bras d'Or.
- Kenneth (10/5): - Excellent view of the water. Cozy, clean room with a great view
- Yiheng (10/5): - quite good
- Achim (6/5): - The room smelled a bit old
- Mark (10/5): - Friendly Staff
- Helene (10/5): - La chambre est charmante et de bonne dimension, très lumineuse, et la vue splendide. Lits et fauteuils confortables.
- Edward (4/5): - They are working to expand the facilty.
- Aaron (10/5): - Great stay, great price
- Kathy (10/5): - The room was a great size and very clean. Staff was awesome.
- Jocelyn (10/5): - Very clean and quiet however it is set back off the road. Lovely room beautiful view. Would return
- Atul (4/5): - Not maintained properly..there are spiders and bugs all around in the room..and it smells bad
- Timothy (8/5): - Very friendly owners
- Perry (8/5): - Clean and attentive staff. The hotel is not walking distance to restaurants.
- Wendy (8/5): - Very clean rooms! Friendly owner.
- Lorna (8/5): - Clean room and I had a good nights rest
- Jane (2/5): - This was the worst hotel we have stayed at. The woman at check in acted like we were bothering her. No customer service at all. The outside was run down, not at all like pictures. The room was depressing. Couldn’t even find matching comforters. Looked like they had shopped at a thrift shop. Ceiling was all patched as if there had been a leak. Door dud not fit frame. Light and bugs came in.
- Terence (6/5): Not sure - They over booked. But got us another place to stay right away
- yves (10/5): - i will refer them to my freind
- Jessie (2/5): - Run down place. Dirty, dusty room. Room had bugs in it, cobwebs. Would not recommend.
- Richard (4/5): - Je n'y retourné pas decu de la place
- ?? (10/5): - Very good view and lots of restaurants there with reasonable price
- Susan (8/5): - Accommodation is a basic motel room, but quiet, clean with good beds and shower. View is gorgeous, and we enjoyed sitting outside. It all worked well for us.
- Barb (6/5): - Needs refreshing- needs updating
- June (8/5): - It was convenient - just needed it for the night so not sure how to rate at this time.
- Pierre (6/5): - Baddeck Inn is a motel with side by side units. The view of the inlet is good from all units.
- Christine (8/5): - Such a great little inn. It had beautiful scenery which was lovely to wake up to. Great spot to stay after taking the Cabot Trail.
I couldn’t find a hair dryer and forgot to ask. Not sure if there was one.
- Susie (8/5): - Friendly and clean
- Emily (10/5): - I was pleasantly surprised by the room we stayed in. It was extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable.
The best thing was the view. The 92 year old lady travelling with me would have liked some tea bags so she could use the microwave to boil water for tea
There was a coffee machine and coffee pods for it but neither of us drink coffee. I would definitely stay here again and will be recommending it to friends.
- Janette (6/5): - Nice well appointed room. Could use a deep clean in the bathroom. Beautiful views of the water.
- Shivam (4/5): - .
- Nikhil (10/5): - .
