• Tracey (10/5): - The Beau Hotel did not disappoint! We loved its historical charm and character. Their staff is kind, accommodating, friendly, and very helpful. Being in the downtown area was a little noisy at night on the weekend, but we did not have any issues sleeping…and it’s Downtown San Diego so our expectations were for it to be busy. There are homeless people in the area, but we never had any problems. The hotel is very clean, and got to know several of the staff by name. I would highly recommend staying there.

But the natural brick in the room as well as in the hallway along with natural wood – made it extremely appealing.

• Rachel (8/5): - Pros: amazing staff, so nice and quick, we never spoke to anyone who wasn’t friendly and helpful. It felt clean, it was in a good location directly downtown and close to public transit as well. But was usually walkable to anything we wanted to do. Cons: the pillows were awfullll and it only has a window AC unit so we were usually very warm while trying to sleep. It was a very small room and we really wished it had a mini fridge. Because it had space for a small one in the room but we couldn’t put our drinks or leftovers anywhere so that sucked sometimes. Overall a cute place that was solid to lay your head down at night but very small and I think they should really invest in some big fluffy hotel pillows because comfort while sleeping can really make or break someone’s experience at a hotel. It was also priced well for the area. Warning to families though, there is an adult toy shop right next door that we didn’t know about lol. We didn’t care because we don’t have kids but I would be pretty upset about that if I was a parent having to give the talk a bit early if my kid saw those mannequins

• Oscar (10/5): - Beautiful classic hotel. The coffee and water that is available for free 24 hours a day was priceless (is priceless free)? Halle not only maintained an impeccable coffee room on the 2nd floor but she also checked us out. Even though I was all jacked up on free coffee I decided to use my $25 off voucher to enjoy an awesome Bloody Maria as they call them in the bar and a very authentic tasting Cuban sandwich. The Gaslamp district is very cool and this hotel adds to the coolness.
• Gregory (8/5): - The Beau Hotel is a charming boutique stay located in the heart of San Diego’s vibrant Gaslamp District. The location is excellent—just steps from top restaurants, nightlife, and local attractions, making it a perfect base for exploring the city. The hotel offers a stylish, intimate atmosphere with thoughtful amenities, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Cleanliness was good, with rooms and common areas well-maintained. On the downside, the bed linens and pillows were average and didn’t quite match the otherwise inviting feel of the hotel. The most noticeable issue was the poor water pressure in the shower, which made for a less-than-ideal experience. Also worth noting: there’s no elevator, only stairs, which might be a challenge for some guests. Despite a few drawbacks, The Beau Hotel delivers great value through its prime location, attentive staff, and boutique charm.

• Monika (10/5): Chris Brown concert - The hotel does not stand out, it is a small boutique hotel amongst other buildings. When you walk in, it is exactly like the photos on the website. The front desk persons were super friendly with fast checkin and checkout. We received a $25 food credit to the restaurant on site which had a cute ambiance and the food is good. The hotel itself does not have an escalator or elevator as its a historic building, but someone does bring your luggage up and down for you. There is a luggage call button on each floor, and i watched the man effortlessly come up to the 3rd floor to help with luggage. Each floor has a coffee/tea room which was great. There is an outdoor patio you can sit in. The room itself has a minimalist vibe with only the necessities, bed, 2 nightstands, tv on wall, desk under tv, and some wall painting decor. There is a rolling luggage rack with about 5 hangars as well. The bathroom was decent size as well, the only thing i wish they had was towel hooks to hang wet towels and even that isnt a huge problem. The area around had restaurants everywhere and Petco Park is only a 10 minute walk and the San Diego airport is about a 15 minute drive. I would definitely come back and stay here, it was wonderful.

• Richard James (8/5): - Found a long hair in the bathroom not mine as I’m bald. I asked for a noon checkout when I checked in and was told it would be $10 I said no problem. I had housekeeping rudely knocking on my door at 11:15. I also watched the manager in the restaurant Barreda customer the previous evening like he was stealing when the only thing that happened was his credit card was declined. Not the way a manager should act. It was so bad that the customer had to tell him to back up off of him because he kept pushing the issue that his credit card was declined. The customer standing right next to me.

• Kristen (10/5): - WOW! What a beautiful boutique hotel! I was in town for a conference so the location was the perfect location for a 15 minute walk to the convention center. Lots of great local dining options, including the hotel's own restaurant and bar. The rooms are quaint, clean, and relaxing. This hotel certainly has vintage charm and is like stepping back into a more refined era. The front desk staff was awesome, they were all very kind. The building felt secure, great for solo travelers. The cocktails at the bar were great. I looks forward to staying here aging!

Door didn't work smoothly and Bathroom door didn't close and stop at the end . I told them couple of times and at the end maintenance guy came and try to fixed it but still door didn't close and getting stuck . we spent our stay with this big issue and sink was broken and fixe by gluing . And big noisy fan whole time.

• Richard (10/5): - Lovely boutique hotel! It had so much charm. We stayed here for our son’s 21st birthday so we could walk to dinner and clubs in the Gas Lamp district of downtown San Diego. The staff was very pleasant and showed us to our room. I loved the brick, hardwood floors and chandeliers. The room was nicely decorated. Everything was clean. We would definitely stay again if we have another event in downtown San Diego.

• Dan (10/5): - Unique property. The Bar/restaurant downstairs is very nice. Employees friendly and helpful. There is no elevators so you will need to walk up and downstairs. The rooms have stand alone ac/heaters but its SD so rooms stayed comfortable. My only suggestion is that the ice is not in a typical dispenser but rather a scoop style and there is no scoop so people were using thier hands or cups to get ice. Otherwise was an enjoyable stay and great location.

• Paul (8/5): - The hotel is a very recent renovation and they did an amazing job with preserving the heritage of the building while modernizing it. Rooms are small, but clean and sharp. Staff very friendly and helpful. The restaurant on site is also really good! All in all we were very happy with it! There are a couple things to consider though. Our room had a portable A/C with a hose to the window. It worked fine but was very loud. And because the steet is loud we had to run it through the night (also to keep temperatures reasonable). Second the downtown of San Diego is a bit hurting. Lots of transience, and dirty/smelly streets. But that’s not the hotels fault. Also - no elevator. So that might be hard for some. Parking in DT S/D is outrageously expensive too. I would stay there again, but would request a room at the back away from the street.

I have stayed at so many hotels and this is the first time I have ever been charged for dirty towels. They should have a sign stating their will be charge for dirty towels. The staff is very customer friendly but the hiden fees wow. I would not recommend this hotel, because of the inconvenience of having to despute unauthorized charges after.

• Dnia (10/5): Beau Hotel - San Diego Gaslamp District - The Beau Hotel is clean, conveniently located and very efficient. The location is central to all of the Gas Lamp and Port activities. It was easy to park my vehicle and just walk around town to see sights and attractions. Hotel Management seems very attentive and genuinely interested in making guests feel welcome. Great stay, I would definitely book this location again for future travels to the San Diego area.

• Robert (10/5): BEST HOTEL STAFF EVER! - The hotel was clean and convenient to the Convention Center (the purpose of my visit was to attend Comic-Con), the staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and nice! The food at the restaurant was delicious! The rates were more than reasonable, especially considering that it was Comic-Con. The only things I could wish for that weren’t there would be a chair or two in the room and an elevator in the hotel. (My mobility is much reduced these days.) Just know that there is no elevator before making your reservation, and if you don’t absolutely NEED an elevator, book your stay here. You will enjoy it immensely!

• Chani (10/5): - This is a historic boutique hotel in downtown San Diego that has recently been beautifully refurbished. If you prefer character and beauty over sterile generic chains, this is the spot for you. It is within walking distance to anything you could need down town including the convention center and the marina.
• ANRONG (10/5): - Very nice front desk staffs good location. The only not good enough is too tiny room.
• JAIME (2/5): Worst stay ever..... - The guy at the desk was very sarcastic and disrespectful. The tv wasn't set up so we couldn't watch tv until contacting the front desk. I used a blow dryer the night of checking in and blew the power. The water pressure was practically non existent in the shower. The next day i used the blow dryer again and bloew the power again. It was the blow dryer they supplied. I requested an extra card for the room and i am glad i did. 1 stopped working the next day. Had it replaced and then the other card stopped working about 5 hours later. Reported all our issues to the front desk. When i went to check out the next morning, the attendant was nice and polite enough to call my friend and I liars because nothing was documented from all our calls to the front desk. Never staying here again and not recommending it to anyone. Stay away... not worth all the hassle.

Friendly staff, cute boutique hotel with a nice speak easy feel restaurant in the hotel lobby. Very clean room, free Starbucks coffee and Teas close to rooms in halls with a classic San Diego feel. Breakfast from the hotel restaurant was delicious. Highly recommend trying a stay here.
• Elizabeth (6/5): - The staff at this property is wonderful. The restaurant in the facility is wonderful. However, the windows are too thin and the noise is incredible. There’s no air conditioning and they have floor air conditioners that you have to put in the window which means you hear all the outside noise and the loud air conditioner the water pressure is horrible and they have no bath mats on the floor. The pillows are subpar. I just felt for being a brand new boutique hotel. It should’ve been a lot better.

• Brandon (4/5): Cute rooms with little to no amenities - First off I get the room dirty and in need of a replacement AC unit, when I ran out of towels I asked the front desk to get me some more. The lady said for me to leave my dirty towels outside the room and room service would replace them. I return to my room late at night to 0 towels … I had to go down stairs again to get towels…. There was 0 cabinet or drawer space much less counter space to put anything on the sink or tuck away in a drawer it was just not what I expected.

• Amy (2/5): - While checking in it was difficult to understand the clerk. When we got to the room we saw that we had been given a double queen when we had booked and prepaid for the superior double king. We were told that there were none available and that we would have to contact Expedia for a refund for the difference. The hotel manager gave me his card with a phone number and email which he does not respond to. It has been seven days and still no response. The hotel is downtown and is located next door to a sex shop. It is so loud at night that the hotel provides you with ear plugs. The bathroom was so small you can barely turn around in it. When I tried to put my shampoo and body wash in the shower, the basket immediately fell off the shower wall. The room consisted of two queen size beds, one nightstand, a small, thin table with coffee cups and an ice bucket. There is no central air conditioning, so there is a portable air conditioner and it was so loud it kept waking us up. The parking garage is around the block and there’s no access directly to the hotel. The next morning we couldn’t get in to the parking garage. There was a group of people trying to get in and there was no attendant. I called the main office and they were unable to open the door for us remotely. They said they would try to get someone over to let us in. Thankfully a lady walking her dog came by and allowed us to enter the garage through a door in her hotel. We do not recommend this hotel.
• Kaitlyn (8/5): - The room was nice but smaller than the picture. We loved the bar being downstairs and the staff was very friendly. I’d say that it’s in the heart of San Diego so definitely keep a close eye where you’re going but still very nice. Also, I’d recommend the hotels parking. The ACE across the street is not gated like the hotels parking is.
