Guest Reviews
- Yaser (2/5): - Very bad hotel
- James (4/5): - Schizophrenic guy next to me was screaming in his room for hours. Lady on the other side let her little dog bark for twenty minutes at 4 am. Room was very tiny. Paid for a queen bed but got 2 twins instead. Also found a few pincer bugs in multiple spots around the room. Definitely will not be staying here again
- Christian (10/5): - Perfect little spot to stay while working in the area! Great price and the room was exactly what we needed.
- Kimi (2/5): - They wouldn't answer the door so we couldn't stay there
- amie (2/5): - The room was not cleaned. There was toothpaste spit in the sink and urine around the outside of the toilet. When I went to say something at the front desk no one answered. I had to buy my own cleaning supplies and left first thing in the morning even though I was charged for the whole week. I didnt expect much for the price. But this was the worst I have ever seen.
- Timothy (2/5): - Canceled on me 4 hours before leaving to go there. Had to call 5 times to see why they called me before telling me I couldn’t stay there for water issue.
- Allan (6/5): - Clean room
- PAUL (10/5): - Clean, odor-free. Comfortable, firm bed. Very little traffic noise. Room was small but adequate. Good value. Friendly reception.
There are two diners in Richfield Springs, about 8 miles east; a surfeit restaurants in Cooperstown.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Older property, on the smallish size. Price was right in line for quality so don't expect amenities.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Cheap. You get what you pay for - AC worked, and the bed was relatively comfortable with clean sheets. Other than that, the room was very small, the microwave was rusty inside and was completely missing the plate. The shower was tiny and I kept hitting my elbows on the walls. If wifi is advertised, then that is false.
It's cheap and on a main road, about 30min from Cooperstown where the prices go way up. I grew up in the area so I knew what I was getting into, but the lack of wifi and condition of the microwave threw me off.
There was also no trash can in the bathroom and the one in the room had no bag and looked dirty inside.
- PATRICIA (6/5): - My experience was mixed. To be fair, I expected (and received) a no frills budget experience given the premium prices in the surrounding area.
But check-in was seriously flawed, there was no sense that I had a reservation and in busier times I don’t doubt my room would have been resold.
Room #1 reeked of smoke - smoke or damp smells are not uncommon for old motels but this was on the strong side. No garbage can in the room or in the bathroom, which is ridiculous for anyone but especially for feminine hygiene.
If I ever return I would definitely call ahead multiple times to validate my room is still available.
- Amanda (2/5): - They gave my room away to someone else even though i booked it weeks before and already paid for it. I had nowhere to stay and they didnt care. He was extremely rude wgen i tried to explainthat I needed this room. He told me they would refund me but i haven't gotten my money back.
- Henry (2/5): - The owner called me an hour and a half before my arrival time and canceled my reservation!
- Ben (2/5): - They didn't have an expedia reservation for me and no available rooms. I was left without a place to stay.
- Brian (4/5): - The easiest way to put it is that you get what you pay for so don’t expect much! On the good side it was mostly quiet and the bed was comfortable besides that it fell a bit short for example I couldn’t tell you the last time the carpet was vacuumed and there wasn’t any TP (luckily we had our own)
And I know I am going to hear did you go to the office to correct any problems the answer to that is yes twice and no one answered the door luckily I caught the maintenance man to get us some extra towels but when we got them they smelled like mothballs
And when we went to check out no one answered the door nor the phone when we called even thou they saw us loading our car to leave.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Awesome place, nice staff. Tv didn’t work tho
- Charles (8/5): Previous poor reviews are not all factual... - Enroute to the motel, I took a look at some prior reviews and got real nervous. Luckily, I found them to be very misleading (false even.)
Cons - Entering the room (#1) it smelled like cigarettes. The southwest corner of the ceiling looked like it could fall in. The shower is very small. The commode space is even smaller. There was no soap provided.
Pros - The linens did not smell at all like cigarettes. The ceiling didn't fall in. The shower and commode were relatively new and clean. I had a small bar of soap in my shave kit. Additionally, the bed slept like a dream, the auxiliary heater worked great keeping the room toasty.
Previous comments about this being a high police/drug/hourly rate hotel are absolutely unfounded. Nor did I see, or see evidence of, bedbugs or cockroaches.
This "motel" sits on a NY State 2 lane highway and serves a very small community with transient workers.
The cost for 2 nights through a 3rd party was well under the areas average. Calling the desk will probably get you an even better deal.
The front desk was managed by the owners son, well-spoken young man, very kind and helpful.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
- ROBERT (4/5): - this hotel was supposed to be smoke free, it was anything but. our room wreaked of years of cigarette smoke that they attempted to paint over, the rugs were dirty and obviously retained the smell of years of smoking. there were no other venues in the area for us to stay so we had no choice we were in the area for a family funeral. we stayed out of the room as long as possible but still woke with the feeling of second hand smoking 2 packs of cigarettes. we were also assessed a 29 dollar cleaning fee at check in that we were not aware of and obviously not used for its intended purpose.
- Joseph (10/5): - I have no complaints, it was very clean and above my expectations, staff was friendly very friendly and also very helpful.
They told me the heat in the room I was given possibly didn’t work and had provided a heater which actually wasn’t needed since heat was indeed working.
Overall my only complaint is there a few spots that I don’t think are cleaned often such as windowsills.
Bed sheets towels and everything else was very clean.
Overall I have no complaints and I think they are doing a fantastic job with up keep.
The pizza nearby is also pretty tasty.
- John (10/5): - Management was friendly and accommodating.
- Brett (8/5): Rural Accomodation - Nice little place in rural NY. Great diner 3 miles away serves yummy breakfasts. Aging but decent room. Needs a hairdryer.
