Unlike most of Sri Lanka, there is enough towels in the bathroom, drinking water, coffee/tea, smart TV; all in all very good hotel with great potential As others have said - the noise :((( they need to upgrade their isolation FAST, cause it's definitely gonna impact the rating of the hotel. The road noise is next level - it feels like the window is open all the time, I had to wear earplugs all the time… It's definitely unbearable and it's a shame cause the hotel has potential. Please fix it :(

Hassan (9/5): - I had a wonderful stay at 50 by the Sea. The location is absolutely perfect, right next to the beach, offering beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere. The room and overall hotel were very clean, well-maintained and spacious, making the stay extremely comfortable. The staff were also very helpful, friendly and always ready to assist with anything needed. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and convenient seaside stay. It would also be very helpful if laundry and ironing services were provided as this would make the stay even more convenient and comfortable.

The hotel was very well maintained, and the rooms were clean and tidy. The staff provided friendly and helpful service throughout our stay. The rooftop was a brilliant spot to relax and watch the sunset, which made the experience even more special. Highly recommended place to stay. Thank you for the great hospitality! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The only minor drawback was that there was no rug or floor mat in the room, which would have made it a bit more comfortable.

Ibrahim (10/5): - I recently visited Colombo for 5 days in October 2025 and stayed at 50 by the Sea - Had an excellent stay there and all my expectations were met - at times went above the expectations also. The apartment looks very new, is very well maintained and most importantly, its extremely clean. Ive visited Colombo many times and many times, I faced the issue of not so clean bathrooms at some residences - at 50 by the Sea, the bathrooms were so clean and neat that it looked like a 5 star hotel's washroom ( I am from luxury hospitality background, so I can assure you of this high, comparable quality at this place ) - The staff were extremely polite and helpful - I had a few encounters with their housekeeping team and security team - very warm, friendly and helpful. I requested for a few things during my stay and got immediate assistance. The Reservations Manager, Ms Shehara is very kind & approachable - she would often call me to check how I was doing and if everything was ok . The rooms are good in size for single travelers and couples - overlooking the Mt Lavinia beach and beautiful sea view. Any drawbacks ? Well, depending on what you are looking for : * The facility doesn't have its own dining outlet - which is not a big issue as there are many outlets nearby , walking distance. * The accommodation is very close to the Mt Lavinia Railway track so there is plenty of noise - may disturb some and some may find it hard to sleep - for me it was not a big issue

Ervina (10/5): View Worth Coming Back For - We absolutely loved our stay at 50 By The Sea — the ocean view was nothing short of spectacular! 🌊✨ I could’ve easily stayed in bed all day just soaking in the peaceful sea view right from our room. The property felt like a hidden gem — private, secure, and so serene. We really appreciated the strict security and privacy; it made us feel safe and completely at ease throughout our stay. Although it’s located slightly away from the city centre, it wasn’t a problem at all — getting around was super easy (and affordable!) with TukTuk via PickMe. If we ever come back to Colombo, we’d still stay here again in a heartbeat. 🩵 The only downside? The property is right next to a train track, and trains do come and go every few minutes — starting even before 5am until midnight! But to be honest, after 3 nights, we somehow got used to it.

My stay here for 18 nights has been really exceptional. There is noise from outside but i played deep sleep relaxation music on TV while sleeping. The security is great especially for female solo travelers. I’m gonna come again and stay here for sure. Nothing bad but there should be a gym and a pool at the property.

Mario (9/5): I liked it. - Very good and clean accommodation. Good service for the value. Nearby there is a large and beautiful beach and several beachside restaurants. I would stay there again. There is no possibility of optional breakfast. However, it is possible to have breakfast in a separate bar in the same building but is entered from the outside.
Dev (4/5): Comfortable but loud (50-noises By The Sea) - The room was neat and cosy, the bed was comfortable and the toilet was clean and nice. Basic amenities were available for a comfortable stay. 1. The building doesn't have a main entrance. It is quite confusing as the front facade - facing the main road has a restaurant, while one side has an ATM but no entrance, and the other side has a simple, almost-hidden side-entrance through a parking space. It seems dodgy to have an entrance to a beautiful place through a side, manned only by a security personnel (luckily helpful and kind). 2. The noise of the road is heard fully and abundantly in the room. It was like we slept on a very comfortable pavement on the side of the road. We barely got any sleep with trains, rowdy and loud boys singing with a bluetooth speaker at 2am, and vehicles zooming by on a Saturday night. The 'french-windows' need to be replaced with a sealed thick glass or other alternative that significantly reduces sound travelling into the room.

Lena (10/5): - Через автомобильную и железную дорогу находится здание с апартаментами. Приятно удивило качество апартаментов. Панорамное окно с видом на океан. Комната была не очень большая, но чистота, качество кровати, мебели - превзошли ожидания. Прасад - хозяин/управляющий был очень любезен. Лично встречал, постоянно интересовался, нужна ли помощь. Очень мне помог с зарядным устройством, которое вышло из строя. Тук-туки на дороге в изобилии. Можно быстро добираться до центра. Единственный минус - очень слышно улицу - машины, поезда.
