Also, I had read the reviews before booking and many said the breakfast was as great. It really wasn’t. The choices weren’t the best and it was mediocre at best. Every night they had a managers happy hour with complimentary beer and wine. Manager could not have been more friendly. Staff was great and the breakfast had a nice selection. Right next door they built a restaurant where we ate two nights. Food was delicious. We highly recommend if you’re in the area.

- Richard (10/5): - My husband and I had checked into another hotel, ended up walking into our room and immediately walked out due to the disgusting nature of the room and needed to find a new place to stay quickly. ClubHouse only had 2 rooms left on a busy Buffalo Roundup weekend and we were lucky enough to snag a room. We were frazzled due to our last experience, but upon walking into the front door of this beautiful hotel and being greeted by the most friendly person at check-in, we were immediately put at ease. We entered our room and it was breath of fresh air. Beautifully appointed and extremely clean. While the hotel was appealing, it was the staff that made this hotel exceptional. From the front desk, to housekeeping, to the food service staff, they were all pleasant, kind and helpful. They turned a bad experience into something amazing.

- Dawn (10/5): - Located approximately 15 minutes from Mt. Rushmore, this hotel provides not only a spacious room, but a nice balcony and calm outdoor courtyard with firepit.
- Mark (10/5): - My only complaint about this property is the mediocre breakfast food on the last two days of my trip. Aside than that, my only other complaint about this property is the very noisy A/C unit. The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. Parking is plentiful and convenient. The accommodations are exceptionally nice and clean (for the price point). Since this hotel was recently built, all of the furnishings and finishes look and feel new. The property is conveniently located to many restaurants and other services, some of which are within walking distance, as they occupy the same plaza. If your Black Hills travel itinerary spans from Hot Springs in the south to Spearfish in the north, then this hotel is near the center of it all. I would definitely stay here again.

- Carron (10/5): Perfect stay! - Literally everything about this hotel was perfect! Carlos checked us in, was super friendly and professional, then later hosted the happy hour. Set the tone for a great stay. The room was clean, bed was comfy, large room, all staff were friendly, breakfast was better than the usual continental, happy hour was very generous. We walked to the restaurant adjacent to the hotel - delicious. So glad we chose this hotel over all the other ones in the area. Hands down best hotel stay! I wish they weren’t just an independent hotel in South Dakota, the rest of the U. S. would benefit from having more of these. Honestly, can’t compliment this hotel enough.

A couple of suggestions are: 1- the fire alarms have strobe lights that would have kept us awake had we not put dark tape over them. 2- The lighting is a harsh LED that needs to soften. The room needs lighting that is more incandescent. Also a lamp by the love seat would would give some light to that end of the room. Otherwise a very pleasant stay! Loved the pillows!

The pool needs a few lounge chairs and a cushions for the chairs but I spoke to the manager and told me he will consider those additions. Staff is great. Professional, courteous and helpful. In 14 days trip in South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana, this was the best Hotel I booked.

- Stacy (8/5): Im very picky and would stay again. - Some improvements needed but would definitely recommend and stay again. The toilet paper and kleenex where very thin and not pleasant to use. The towels were rough. The breakfast was ok. The chair and couch needed lights for reading. The room was very clean which was great. I loved that there was no carpet in the room keeps things very easy to sanatize. Loved the walk in shower, toiletries and makeup remover cloths. Very nice sized room. We loved the cucumber and lemon water that was always available. Great location. Close to excellent restaurants and shopping. Would definitely stay again.

- Gary (6/5): - Property is really nice. I’d probably stay there again, but they missed the boat on the room AC unit located in the bedroom that is very loud and cycles off and on. In addition, the smoke alarm has a bright white led light that flashes every seven seconds. Annoying. Finally, the breakfast selection was a typical Hampton Inn unhealthy selection of high sugar, high fat, and high carbs. For the money I expected better. But the hotel itself is very nice.

Every staff member was so friendly, our suite was beautiful. We had three nights there. An idea, consider A step stool with a tall handle for transferring disabled folks from chair to bed.

He went above and beyond to welcome us and get us everything we needed. The hotel is very clean, quiet, and the breakfast in the morning offers a great variety of choices including fresh fruit. Having the choice to use nice plates and real silverware is a nice change from other hotels where everything is disposable. We travel a lot and it was our first stay at a Clubhouse and we highly recommend!!

- Dennis (8/5): - This is a great place. A very nice restaurant is attached to the property. The room was spacious and well appointed. There was one problem with the room. There are two sensors in the ceiling, probably fire sensors. Each had a bright green light, and both lights would continually blink on and off in unison. I am used to a steady light for such devices and have never seen continuous blinking. I had to use a sleep mask to get to sleep. Maybe it's code in this area? At any rate, kind of annoying.

Bathroom has lots of safety bars which is great but the vanity is way too small. Can’t even put your makeup bag on it. Breakfast and the crew were amazing. Best I have ever had at a hotel. This alone was worth the stay. Managers reception during the week was a nice touch. Location was easy to get to. Highly recommend!
