Guest Reviews
- Debbie (7/5): Marisa the manager is awesome! She is Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about town And area. -
- Holly (10/5): Wonderful! - Location, comfort, cleanliness All good
- Thomas (8/5): -
- Russell (10/5): Great staff, great room, totally satisfied with the overnight stay - Newly renovated room including vinyl wood flooring (NICE! - [no dirt collecting carpet here!]), comfortable bed, coffee maker with coffee, convenient parking, pet friendly, and friendly & helpful staff. No complaints.
- denise (2/5): -
- Nonie (2/5): The cost and clean room (on day one) is not worth it... go somewhere else! - The room was clean when my husband arrived, the location is good, and the cost for the room was good... The room was clean when my husband arrived, the location is good, and the cost for the room was good... they never came in and cleaned the room, even though he was there for four days AND he put the sign on the door every morning to have it cleaned. All he wanted was the trash emptied, a fresh towel (the only one in there smelled musty on day 1), and by day 2 he needed toilet paper. He was working 10 hours a day, not even there to make a mess. On night 3 he had to go ask for a towel and toilet paper (no phones in the room to call the office) and the woman at the desk argued that he should have hung the sign on the door to clean the room... the sign was still hanging on his door. She was completely bothered to even speak with him, and seemed oblivious to the fact that everything was broken or not working. On top of all of that, they were renovating half the rooms and trash was scattered all over the walkway, the A/C wasn't working, was so loud you couldn't hear the TV, and only blew the air around. He couldn't open the windows for fresh air with people hanging around the walkway smoking Marijuana most of the night. Also, the fridge froze everything... not cold, FROZEN, and the know to adjust it was missing. No ice machine, so he lost his food that he brought for his lunches.
- deborah (9/5): Solid choice - Location, friendliness, proximity to park and downtown Parking is tight but it’s being renovated so it should be better soon.
- Roberts (7/5): - Motel is on its way to being a cute, retro place. Nice outside gathering spot. We were told a local rancher is doing the remodel. Great save, it will be an asset to this little town. They allow pets, no limits on size!
The beds were comfy. Shower was great with nice, tall shower head!
We saw a house, while walking thru town, had 7 deer in the yard! Thankfully our dog was so preoccupied with all the smells, he totally missed the deer! A little too close to the towns main drag. Seems that every other vehicle was an obnoxiously loud diesel truck. Too much noise for a ground floor room.
After a day of traveling, our dog really enjoys a nice, long walk, taking in all the new sniffs. Although the speed limit going thru town is 25 mph, very few vehicles adhered to it, making walking a little uncomfortable.
- Jessica (9/5): - Very clean and can tell newly updated flooring and few bathroom furnishings. Customer service was great and the lady was very sweet. Great quiet location also. Bed was very comfortable as well.
- Verne (5/5): I wish them best fortune in updating their old motel. Their decisions now will be decisive. - The bed was super soft. The pillows were bricks and absolutely awful - maybe the worst of my many stays in motels. The tv service through Direct TV is abysmal, convoluted and not worth the effort. The focus on Fox news and related content is endorsement of right leaning propaganda.
- Ray (7/5): - The staff was excellent..and room was very clean. Was very noisy from highway noise.
- Neal (6/5): It works for a basic, pet-friendly stay in Burns. - Pet friendly (no extra charge) and liked the available coffee. The bed was comfortable. The shower worked fine. Both a refrigerator and microwave. Convenient to downtown Burns. Not a lot of amenities in the room. Only one reading light for a queen bed. We could hear the occupants upstairs a bit too much.
- Jack (8/5): Very Nice - Very friendly staff, facilities are being remodeled and updated.
- ANA JIMENEZ (10/5): -
- Mark (8/5): -
- susan (8/5): A good night's sleep at half the price of competitors - The price, comfort, and location were the highlights. The in-room refrigerator was quite noisy. The window by the sink needs either a curtain/blind or frosted glass film.
- Danielle (7/5): - Staff are responsive and kind. You can tell they take a lot of pride in the hotel and are remodeling it. The blackout curtains didn’t cover the front window well and being right on the road it was really loud. Maybe some sound proofing or better insulation would do the trick.
- Dante (9/5): An affordable and clean, warm stay. - Marisa is delightful and made us feel very welcome. The beds were cozy. The stairs to the room.
- Angela (7/5): We only stayed one night. It was reasonably priced, clean, comfortable and convenient for us. - The staff are very friendly and the beds are comfortable. Room was clean. Room was dated however it’s under new management and they are renovating. This is good as I’m 5’ 2” and the shower head was only an inch or two higher than my head. My husband who is 6’ was not happy with it.
Street noise is loud even with window closed. This is because It’s off the main highway through town. Hopefully with the remodeling that will help.
- Jennifer (7/5): -
- Klinghammer (8/5): - Just remodeled on inside of the rooms. Outside looks like an old run-down hotel. Once they finish scraping and paint, it will look nicr
- Ben (6/5): -
- Reiter (8/5): - Clean and comfortable ! Great deal.
- Keniston (10/5): - What a bargain! Newly renovated, clean and spacious room for a fabulous price. Nice staff, a warm welcome and a real wood fire in the lobby. Good coffee in the lobby in the morning. Highly recommended.
- Harmony (6/5): -
- Anna (9/5): -
- Jeff (8/5): Good! - Nice front desk help. Room was very clean. It was partially refurbished. Nothing fancy but a comfortable bed and a great nights sleep. Helped me with a spot for my utility trailer. Will stay again. A little noisy due to semi trucks. Coffee could be improved.
- William (8/5): - I'm encouraged to see that Silver Spur's new owner(a local rancher) is refurbishing the property.
During my stay everything was clean, odorfree, tidy & my bed was firm & comfortable; I slept well.
My small, one bed & bath area was very adequate for my solo travel needs. I appreciated the chair, desk, & desk-lamp....perfect for the work I needed to get done before turning in.
The clean shower box was tight, but certainly adequate for my 6'1" 220# frame; it's dated tiles were true to the property's vintage.

Burns visitor The New Owner seems to be working hard on the Units, as construction gear/ditriss was visible all around the property. Once that gets settled, I believe there'll be shininess on the Silver Spur.
- Reiter (10/5): - Clean and comfortable !!!!
- Virginia (8/5): -
- Mark (7/5): As per expectations -

- Tyffany (9/5): Nice, clean hotel for travelers - Accommodating staff and nice clean facilities. Good hot shower with good water pressure.
- Sherri (9/5): Very comfortable and attractive room, great place - We were there when it was under renovations. My daughter was wary when she saw it, but quickly changed her mind. Lovely hotel room, very clean and attractive, and the beds were comfortable. The woman that helped us was exceedingly helpful, friendly, and nice. We had a room with 2 beds, and I loved how the beds were not next to each other and I couldn’t even see my daughter in the other bed. Only thing I would do as an improvement would be to put drapes or blinds over the small windows at the back of the room. No one can see in this window, so privacy isn’t a problem. It’s the sun. Light comes in when the sun comes up. In the summer, that’s going to be around 6 or so. Not everyone can sleep when it’s light and some don’t want to get up with the sun. Luckily, I brought an eye mask. Otherwise, it was wonderful place. I can’t say enough good about the woman that helped us. Well, I said it up above, but the only thing I could see to improve the absolutely wonderful place is window coverings for the small windows at the back of the room. It isn’t a privacy issue, it’s a sun issue and not wanting to wake up with the sunrise.

- Apple John (10/5): Excellent bargain! - Such a friendly, comfortable, clean place to stay. Convenient to the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. Room was too hot when I arrived. But turning heat down was easy.

- Gramma4boys (5/5): Renovated
, but lacking. - Price was good for a stopover. Receptionist was helpful to get a doormat and ice. Linens and towels were nice and soft. Desk, chair and comfortable were nice/solid wood. Renovated room very lacking. Newly tiled shower had NO shelf for soap or shampoo. We had to ask for a doormat because snow and ice was tracking in. Painted bathroom, but holes in the wall above the sink from towels holder not repaired. No headboards and beds scooted around on the floor.
- Joshua (10/5): - Exceptionally clean. Room was warm on a cold night. Shower was hot. No complaints about the bed. Very satisfied. Recommend. For the price of this room there was nothing that would justify complaining about. I slept very well thinking of what a great value it was.
- Elizabeth (7/5): -
- Stockton (5/5): We picked silver spur because it was not expensive and we only needed to rest. - It was easy to find. The staff was very kind and inviting. The room was very clean. The mattresses were very hard, and the room had some cosmetic blemishes, notably the paint job in the bathroom was done with less than admirable attention to detail.
- Jennifer (8/5): Clean and friendly - Great checkin experience. Clean and comfy! The room we are in had a dark shower with no lighting, so it was very hard to see while I was showering. Also, there was a smoke detector beeping somewhere in the building that kept me up all night. I should have called front desk so that’s kind of on me.
Also, we got a queen room, but the bed was not a quren, so it was a tight squeeze
- Lucas (7/5): Great value and good rooms - Friendly staff and clean rooms. Bed was a little hard but not unusable.
- Patty (9/5): I would stay here again. - The value for the money was outstanding. We did not need a pool or hot tub for our stay. We were traveling with a wrestling team and the staff Sheena was tremendous. Marisa went out of her way to communicate with me. I would stay at the Silver Spur anytime we were in the area. Wake up service, but Sheena located a clock for me so all was well.
- Ava (10/5): Pleasant stay on the way to the Coast - A very clean, comfortable, cute room! Friendly staff and great location.
- john (9/5): -
- Jared (5/5): A cozy, rustic, small town, locally owned, classic with a little noise. - Great rustic character with wood paneling, ranch decor and original western wildlife painted mural giving the room a cabin like feel. Bathroom was newly renovated, clean and comfortable. Proximity to the main road makes traffic noise very loud. The fridge and AC are also loud but drown out the traffic noise. If you like white noise and rustic character, you should be good to go.
- Electra (3/5): - None The side walk was completely torn up. Dangerous to walk on. Noise from the hiway.
- Evan (1/5): Terrible would never stay again. Stay away! - Nothing. Lady in the office was nice. Dirty rooms. Slept on a box spring in one of the rooms. Noisy all night. One room didnt have an air conditioner. Expected a pet fee for a concrete parking lot. Had to drive to a park to let my dog out to walk and go to the bathroom.
- Gary (7/5): -
- Cheryl (1/5): - Went to check in and no one answered the door. Had to find another motel room, someplace else.
- Kurt (8/5): I enjoyed my stay, no real criticism. - We did not eat breakfast. 2 years ago I stayed at the same motel and it was funky. No hot water, pretty rough all around. This time the flooring had been replaced, the room was updated, we had hot showers and it was a great pet friendly room. The woman that checked us in was wonderful and she was very helpful. We had a great stay in Burns. I could nit-pick but why bother. All my criticism would be about minor cosmetic stuff.
- Jana (7/5): Cute place, hope the new owner is able to keep making improvements, would stay here again - The lobby is a throwback to the mid-century—vaulted wood ceilings, huge fireplace, and what looks to be original flagstone floors. There is a sign in the lobby talking about how a local rancher bought the property and has been slowly working to update and fix the issues with deferred maintenance left by the previous owner. My room had been updated/remodeled, it was clean, comfortable and warm (it can get cold in Burns at night). Walls were a bit thin, but what can you do with an older building? Wouldn’t have been an issue but the neighbors were louder than normal and banging stuff around.
- FREDERICK (8/5): Motel was clean, quiet and reasonably priced. Would stay again. - Lady at front desk was very nice and though the property was a bit run down, it was nonetheless clean, quiet and met my expectations. Building somewhat run down.
- Andrea Garcia (10/5): This was very nice quiet motel all the people respected one another..took little dogs out separately - Really friendly service. I felt very comfortable here .. I didn't like that it was soo cold outside ..
- Prashant (10/5): Great host and rooms -
- Annwyn (7/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): -
- Michael (4/5): I would recommend staying somewhere else - The front desk personnel was very pleasant. The beds were HORRID! The beds were very hard, dirty and the pillows were just disgusting! I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. The floor was super slick and the beds moved quickly, trying to get into them. The shower had pubic hairs and we didn’t even use them. It was just plain horrible!
- Veronika (9/5): Stylově zažízené, stojí za návštěvu - Stylově zařízený motel, dřevěné zařízení i obložení pokoje - krása a styl. Pěkná koupelna, čistota super a velmi příjemná paní na recepci. Doporučuji. Silná doprava v okolí.
- GARY (10/5): the manager was very helpful. She upgraded our rooms to accommodate us to ground floor. - no breakfast. the location was good. n/a
- Don (7/5): New ownership is doing a good job of improving an older facility in need of repair. Room was clean. - Room was clean. Huge pillows would not get flat enough.
- Sheila (7/5): -
- Jody (9/5): -
- Eric (9/5): -
- Victoria (1/5): - I had to move to a different motel. There was no deadlock in the door. The ancient wall heater put out scant heat. The best thing was the proprietor was very understanding and refunded my stay. She said they have plans to replace all the old heaters in the near future.
- Desira (10/5): - The staff were really nice. The lady at the front desk Saturday afternoon greeted me as if she knew me. Check in was easy. I booked on booking and the second I said my name she pulled me right away! They remodel and the room was spectacular!
- Kara (8/5): -
- Kristin (10/5): We were nervous when we drove up (it looks pretty rough)but completely happy with our room! - Great water pressure, hot shower, comfortable beds Pretty shabby on the outside (under renovations and new ownership)
- Sumner (4/5): - The room was old and needed a face lift but it was very clean and fine for one night. We were on the 2nd floor. The exterior was very
Shabby, the staircase and corridor to the 2nd floor were terrible messy and almost led us to change our mind!
- michael (7/5): it was okay and served our needs for the night - I didn't see any breakfast .... no vending machines for someone wanting something to drink... bathroom sink was leaking onto the floor underneath room was pretty clean we got the last one so it was upstairs vending machine for something to snack on or drink
- John (5/5): I just needed an option one step up from my tent. It was that, barely. - It was dry and warm. Pretty run down place. Just barely basic.
- Ursula (7/5): -
- Selena (7/5): - The very friendly front desk person explained that this motel is in the process of getting renovated. We were given a renovated room and It was clean & comfortable.
- Craig (9/5): -
- Holly (8/5): - The Silver Spur was in the midst of renovation with lots yet to be done, but the room was very nice, clean, and nicely updated. Their ice machine had not been delivered yet, so no ice. There parking lot is still very rough making it a challenge to walk across for two old ladies like us. That will probably be their final part of their renovations.
- CJAY (5/5): - Check out Being remodeled
- Frank (8/5): Would stay again - Quiet , clean, comfortable Stairs and walkways look and feel like dangerous stuff in
- Crutcher (9/5): If was nice, excellent - Did not had breakfast No complain
- Esther (10/5): - Staff was very friendly and so helpful, , room- was clean, comfortable, towels and sheets there bedding is clean enjoyed it, parking is good, nice quiet,
- Dale (8/5): - Very nice remodel of room. Ihope the new owners can get the outside cleaned up as well. A more comfortable chair would be nice
- Sarah (9/5): - Nice room. They are working on improving property that has been neglected. Nothing
- Pamela (10/5): - Convenient stopover for travelers
- Katherine (8/5): - You can tell the hotel is being refurbished, lots going on. Our stay was quiet and comfortable. We had a very late check in and the owners had everything ready for us. Very, very clean(even the corners of the two rooms). Bathroom was adorable.
- Del (8/5): - Under renovation. Remodeled rooms nice, quite, clean. Vacant lot next door for dogs to use. No amenities such as pool. Convenient location. Good value.
- Patricia (8/5): - A bit run down. Staff very friendly.
- Emily (10/5): - Nice stay for a night, off a busy road so there is some noise.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - The staff was very nice. The room was clean. Pretty basic amenities. Offers coffee in the morning.
- Alice (10/5): - Cute little town and great little motel in this town! 4 blocks down is great food ( food trucks) drinks, entertainment and games for families. Dog friendly town. Motel is being renovated and is being ran by an Magnificent Manager Marissa! We stayed in the family room with 2 queen beds and a twin. The room was clean, stocked and had a microwave and fridge. I highly recommend it!
- Lynn (10/5): - Check in and staff was excellent. On a busy road but ac unit drowned out traffic noise. Would stay there again. Dog friendly with a park close by
- Dennis (10/5): -
- Céline (9/5): Very clean and friendly service - The woman at the reception was so helping and lovely. She offers me to check and choose between 2 available rooms. Her beautiful kind smile made my day!
The room was extra clean, no smell and in good conditions. Prepare your ear plugs as the walls have no isolation at all.
- Walter (10/5): -
- Monica (10/5): -
- Richard (8/5): -
- Cheryl (9/5): Perfect, Affordable, Clean and Quiet Room - Great little motel, perfect for my 1-night stay. Marisa, the manager saved my trip by being able to switch days and she cancelled another reservation without charge for me, which was really kind. My room was newly renovated and was very clean and the town is very quiet at night.
- Jayne (10/5): - Lovely updated, clean room. Nice amenities. Friendly staff.
