- Verified traveler (8/5): Decide based on desired experience & budget - Very residential and quiet neighborhood albeit not in downtown Boston. Not ideal if seeking a more urban setting with choice of nearby restaurants. Fine for 1 night or for guests wishing to cook and eat in. Info received after reserving suggest a link between comments on location and ethnic diversity. Not an issue for a resident of a diverse, multi-cultural city. The issue is more close proximity to a subway stop and downtown. Lots of rules and instructions that may turn potential clients off. Most affordable place in Boston area in July and very good cost-quality ratio.

Mode of communication was a bit odd to me (WhatsApp), but other than that I recommend this property. We would stay again!

- Lori (2/5): - 0 stars…Terrible experience. We couldn’t stay there. Our room had a very strong moldy smell. My daughter and I have asthma and I are highly allergic to mold. We could not stay there as it was health hazard. I texted the owner about the mold and got no response. I contacted Expedia and they said they would talk to the owner to get a refund, as we had to find alternative accommodations, due to the mold. Unfortunately, he was unwilling to do the right thing even though we couldn’t stay there due to the mold. He would not refund the money. In addition to that there were many misrepresentations about his property. At best it is a hostel. You can’t wear shoes and have to climb 3 very steep stairs to stay in an attic. The double room we paid for was a full size bed and not 2 beds. The bathroom was a sink and a toilet. It said you had to clean the bathroom after you use it. No wash cloths are provided…only towels. There are cameras watching you everywhere and you can’t watch tv without headphones or earbuds and you can’t talk in your room, only whisper. The whole thing is a sham. I am out $667 and we never stayed there. The outside of the building looked nice. The kitchen looked nice. Expedia said there was nothing they could do.

I would suggest giving the guests more options for breakfast and a linen closet for guests so they can choose quantity of towels needed. We were only given one towel and there were two of us in the room. I had to go buy a towel from the StopnShop.
- Nicholas (10/5): One of the best stays I’ve ever had! - I can not say enough great things about my stay. Check-in was a breeze, my room was immaculate, and the rest of the property was equally as clean. They offered basic food stuffs at no charge, and kept a very well-equipped and clean kitchen. The property and room was so quiet, at times it felt like I had the place to myself. A family emergency required that I leave very abruptly and with little warning, and checking out early could not have been easier. They were very sympathetic to my situation, and went above and beyond to help me get back on my way. I will be back to stay the next time I am visiting! Please do yourself a favor and put this at the top of your list.

- Robert (10/5): - I have no gripes about the Host or the Property, they were incredible. However, I do not recommend booking this property through Expedia. Expedia does not allow the host to uphold their own policies regarding changes to the booking, including adding extra guests, and as a result I paid $128 more to book an extra guest compared to the $50 upcharge I would have gotten if I contacted the AirBnB. When I contacted support, they bragged that I fell for it because I consented to their charges based on false information. My advice, book directly from AirBnB for this stay, do not use Expedia for it.

Everything worked beautifully and I made the short walk at night from the subway with no problem and found the check in instructions to be perfect. The room was spacious and clean and the bed and linens were really comfortable. And a big clean bathroom. I really liked the place.

- Joseph (10/5): Great place with comfortable, friendly vibe - Dan's place in Dorchester (Homestay, Harvest St.) is very nice. Room #2 where I stayed is right next to the bathroom. The spacious room has several windows, a tv, a fan, and a desk. The wifi is very strong. Keurig coffee or bags of tea in the morning. (There is also some food, but I didn't need it.)
- Verified traveler (10/5): Convenient place - Great experience. Nice owner gives useful advice in advance on what to expect and how to get there. All very practical and easy. Location perfect for access to Metro system for much of Boston. Mall nearby for food etc.
- Philippe (10/5): Very satisfied - 10 min walk from Andrew metro station made this very convenient. On the way from the metro to the BnB, there are three little (!) Polish grocery stores, which I found very convenient and kind of fun. Walking felt safe. The place was very functional and clean. Nice bathroom. Good wifi and TV. Room is simple. One morning I stayed there the outside temp the temp was 12 F outside; the room was so toasty, despite all hesitations I had to open the window. So all in all, very good experience. The welcome email when I arrived was a bit offputting, but upon second thought, it looks like someone else than the guy who runs the place wrote it. Get over it, and you will have a nice stay. Very good price performance ratio; II would go again the next time I am in Boston.

Room, bathroom and kitchen area were all super clean! My bedroom was very simple but came equipped with a fan and a desk which came in handy! Almost everything was within walking distance (food stores, restaurants, and upper Dorcester). All signs and house rules posted in clear sight and simple to follow
- Jerick (8/5): - Despite the contrast with the BnB down the south, this place is, in the most basic term, a bed and breakfast. Situated somewhere outside Downtown Boston, it gives a lot of reason to enjoy your stay. It’s a couple blocks away from a local coffee shop, bar, cinema & shopping center so there’s always something to do. It is a couple miles away from the heart of the city, so there’s a lot more to explore outside the neighborhood. The owner was very accommodating and the house rules were straight to the point. If you’re looking for a quick in-n-out situation, then this is the perfect place for you! I would definitely come here again.

- Freeman (4/5): Gross - We arrived and someone had been in our room. The bed was not made there were dirty dishes on the nightstand and a used towel on bed. It was pretty gross, and we were very disappointed. No refund or discount were offered. We were able to track down the host and he said he would make up our room We left and went out to dinner. When we returned the bed was made with clean sheets (at least I think they were clean) Again, pretty gross and no refund or discount given.
