- Janet (5/5): too many issues. - Well the property is well-located, you can walk to town easily. Unfortunately the coffee machine did not work. Very disappointed when we woke up and could have have a cup. The hosts also did not leave internet instructions or better instructions on the door locks. We had to call to get onto the internet because there were no instructions and had to get dressed and walk to buy a cup of coffee.
- Jim (5/5): Pleasant but frustrating- see above - Location was good. Ellsworth was a cute town. Good restaurants. Downside was many places closed early We’re seniors. Our room was on the second floor and the stairs were somewhat precarious. I would not recommend for seniors. The building is old and I was surprised there was no fire sprinklers or way to get out in the event of a fire. Could have used a comfortable chair. There was a constant, albeit random, noise that would wake me in the night and was louder but evident during the day.
- Rosemary (9/5): It was just what we needed! - Plenty of space. Location. Use of furnished kitchen. Easy parking and in and out. Comfortable. The thermostat on the mini split over the bed was lit in a way that lit the room at night. I like to sleep in the dark, and had to turn off the minisplit to do so. The stairs were steep. We did fine but didn't know or had forgotten.
- Terri (9/5): - The extra large rooms were great! The total price was not stated. It wasn’t until after I booked that the taxes were added and price adjusted. Hidden fees I thought are illegal. Also you need to consider blocking the back parking area. We turned left to enter the parking lot from the street only to be forced to back up into the street because an extremely large truck almost hit us head on. They were cutting through and refused to back up.

- Jeffrey (7/5): Very good for the most part as fortunately the entryway was the only deficient area. - It was well-proportioned with lovely high ceilings. and the room itself was clean and spacious. It had a European style bathroom/toilet vs. sink & shower setup. It was also quiet and air-conditioned. The entryway to the building was something of an eyesore, being unkempt, not clean, needed sweeping/cleaning.
- Karen (8/5): It was a reasonably priced, clean and comfortable place to stay, a short drive to Acadia Park. - It was clean and comfortable. The house had good curb appeal and had a nice location adjacent to downtown Ellsworth. The property was as described with linens and toiletries, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The wi-fi service was not the best. On our last day we went out for breakfast and someone locked the outside door using the door knob instead of the combination dead bolt lock and we were locked out. It's a flaw in the only entrance into the apartment. Fortunately one of the neighbors heard us knocking and let us in, so it worked out.

GPS kept taking us to the business next door. Access to the second floor was somewhat difficult as the stairs were narrow and steep. I don’t remember that being disclosed on booking. - Doris (7/5): Wenn schon Code dann den richtigen. - Sehr große Wohnung mit 2 Schlafzimmern. Altes Haus, sehr schön renoviert. Wir bekamen per WhatsApp den Zugangscode, der nicht richtig war. Wir konnten aber nur telefonisch Kontakt aufnehmen, was für uns nicht möglich war DataSim. So standen wir 1 Stunde im Regen, bis ein anderer Mieter uns telefonieren ließ. Übrigens auch sein Code war falsch. Von der Vermieterin kam keine Entschuldigung.

- Amanda (10/5): Amazing staff who knew exactly what to do when an unexpected issue occurred. We could not recommend this more highly!!! - The room was adorable. It was very clean and had everything we needed.
- Dave (4/5): - Property has good location to walkable shops and dining. Electronic locking is not user friendly, had to call management multiple times. No instructions on how to lock door when leaving. No stove for cooking. Cooking utensils and any items to cook on very minimal. Exhaust fan in bathroom half falling out of ceiling. No stopper in tub for taking a bath. King size bed installed against a wall where person on that side has to crawl out of bed from bottom of bed. Apartment is large but a lot of wasted space. Bottom line would be would we stay here again or recommend to friends. Answer is NO.

We had a minor issue with the access code, but a quick call to management took care of that. We recommend if you’re looking for a place close to Bar Harbor but also has a charming downtown you can explore without the crowds.

The exterior door was wide open when we arrived. We closed but there were no instructions on how to secure so it reopened. No staff on duty. Every night we were there the exterior security lights were on all day but off after dark: timer set wrong?? Stairway to our room on second floor was curved with shallow steps: VERY challenging to carry bags up and down. No closet or hooks in the room to hang anything. (replacing chest of drawers with wardrobe would take care of this) No luggage racks provided so we put one suitcase on bistro table and the other on floor. Zero shelf space in shower room: if you clear off complimentary shampoo on TINY sink there is room for a toothbrush...if using hairdryer must set in sink. (Toilet was in separate WC so setting stuff on toilet seat not an option). Floor along one side of shower room hadn't gotten cleaned: hair and dust along basecove. Bedroom curtains are sheer so awakened at sunrise.

Booking.com gave the property an incorrect phone number so we never got the codes to get in. It took several attempts to contact someone to get the informatioin. Booking.com site no help at all. I finally found a number for the property manager. She was great.

- Ave (9/5): Great suite in a great location to explore the Bar Harbor area. - Very comfortable room and great location. Walk to downtown and close to major driving routes. Be warned that it is a narrow, relatively steep stairway if you are on the second floor. Minor inconvenience given all the good things about the room and location.
- Abigail (1/5): Avoid at all costs! - Outdoor porch and Victorian style Incredible stench upon arrival. Room NOT made. A disgusting mess!! No information whatsoever so we had to leave and find another hotel last minute and in a rush. The managers contacted us afterwards (saying they had tried to contact us before but no trace of this on booking). They supposedly had a hornets problem hence they could not accommodate us. Difficult to believe that they could not have managed to inform us earlier as a hornets problem does not happen in just a few hours. They said they would refund us but not reply. No reply from booking.com either. Have contacted both entities multiple times. Terrible experience. I am wondering wether booking’s service has not been outgrown by their popularity.
- Maggie (1/5): - N/A We booked this apartment expecting a safe, clean place to stay, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. On arrival we noticed: • The shower rod was unstable and came loose during the first use, causing water to spill onto the floor. • The bathtub had stains and didn’t feel clean, so we had to put a towel down to stand on. • There were leftover used contact lenses in the trash from the previous guest. • The carpet and bathroom had visible dirt and debris. • Later, when opening a window, the curtain rod came completely off the wall because it wasn’t secured properly. While the host eventually offered to send a cleaner and suggested moving us to another hotel for one night out of our 3 night stay, the fact is that the apartment was not in safe or acceptable condition when we checked in. It also did not meet reasonable expectations for an “apartment,” that was verified by Booking and we felt uncomfortable staying there. We’re still waiting to receive our refund for the nights we couldn’t stay.

- Julie (2/5): Stressful & disappointing - The home was located right on Main street in a nicely kept and quaint downtown area of Ellsworth. Easy walk to cute shops and restaurants. Short and pretty drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We were due to check in on a Sat.. The Weds. before, I wrote the property to ask a general question about the 2 rooms we booked. The host wrote back the same day stating we had only booked 1 room. I wrote back same day stating I had a confirmation from Booking.com very clearly reflecting 2 rooms & that they had already been paid for. I heard nothing for 2 days until midday on Friday (day before check in) when they replied to state they still only had us booked for 1 room and that no other rooms were available for our dates. They suggested I contact Booking.com. I immediately called the property to speak with someone directly and there was no answer so I left a message. I also contacted customer service at Booking.com and was notified they would get back to me within 24 hours. Several hours later when I had not heard back from the property, I called again, no answer, so I left another message. By mid morning the next day (day of check in), we still had not heard back from them so we called again and someone answered. We were told that everything was fine and that we had 2 rooms booked and paid for. They then took our phone number and said they would send a text right away with our check in instructions & door codes. At 4:15 PM (15 minutes AFTER check in time) we still had not received a text or email or any correspondence whatsoever with check in details so we called them AGAIN. Someone answered, apologized that they were busy and gave us the codes. One of the rooms was nicely decorated, spacious and pretty however there was hair in the tub, the bath mat literally had dirty footprints on it and the shower had a dirty washcloth wadded up lying on the shelf leading us to believe the bathroom wasn't cleaned at all and making us wonder if the sheets had even been changed. The other room was average and appeared clean except for something sharp embedded in the carpet that I stepped on. Never did hear back from Booking.com customer service.

- Lisa (1/5): Bad - Nothing I contacted this host before my arrival about what would I need to get into my room way early in the day since I was traveling from Baltimore MD to Maine for work. I was told I don't need anything. When I arrived after several hours of delays no one was there I called the contact number a million times. I messaged on the app and nothing I got crickets. I had to book another place nearby at 9:30 at night after traveling all day. To say I was angry is an understatement I expected at least a call back the next day or a message back but received nothing. I'm not sure if this is a scam listing or what but what a terrible experience. If I needed to be there by a certain time or needed a code I shouldve received that when I contacted way earlier in the day I had already paid for the night.

It was perfect for the 3 of us at the end of our trip. It’s pretty close to Acadia National Park without all the regular drama of the crowd in Bar Harbor.

- Josh (6/5): Conveniently located in downtown Ellsworth with great curb appeal and parking, but the stay was impacted by unclear amen - The property had a great location right in downtown Ellsworth, which was really convenient for dinner plans and exploring the area. It had nice curb appeal and plenty of parking, which made coming and going easy. The listing was described as an apartment, but it turned out to be just a single room, lacking the amenities typically expected from an apartment. If there was access to a kitchen or shared facilities, there were no instructions provided on how to find or use them. Additionally, on our first morning, we noticed a strong sewer odor coming from the shower drain. We had to cover it with towels just to manage the smell, which was an unpleasant way to start the stay.
