Guest Reviews
- Ryan (10/5): - Nice place for the price
- William (2/5): - The room was dingy and poorly lit. The tile floor was dirty with particulates that stuck to the bottom of my feet. The towels were shoddily folded and musty. There were no washcloths. Water ran out from under the toilet. The tub drain ran very slowly. This is, by far, the worst place I have ever stayed.
- Amanda (6/5): - The fridges didn’t work but you get what you pay for and it worked for what we needed. It was actually very clean for being a cheap motel And staff was very nice
- Margaret (10/5): - A quaint small room, road side motel that was a very good value, clean and comfortable, and quiet.
- Eric (8/5): - Missing chairs outside.
air conditioning is old, needs replacement.
- Mohammad (10/5): Excellent Value and clean! - The owner is extremely friendly; accommodating as well! He explained the rules very clearly. Very organized and straightforward guy.
I pride myself as a cleanliness critic and I found the room in excellent condition; clean and well taken cared of.
Security locks are solid. I was there with my wife and we felt safe there.
Plenty of parking and is in a quiet area so no rowdy people around.
I would definitely recommend this place!!!
- Douglas (8/5): - All we wanted was a good night's sleep and a decent bathroom, convenient to Fort Drum. We got that, and for a very low rate, plus wi-fi.
The proprietor met us at our car so we didn't even have to walk into an office. We parked immediately outside our room. We had peace and quiet during our stay, though the room fridge was making enough noise that I unplugged it for most of the night. The rather high step from the sidewalk to our doorway was an issue for my wife. All in all, anyone who doesn't care to spend twice or thrice as much money elsewhere may appreciate the Nest Inn.
- Scott (2/5): - This was likely an unfortunate coincidence to stay at this establishment when the owner had to visit Toronto while we were there. After checking in, we were obviously given a room that did not have the room code cancelled from the day before and a couple hours after we were in our room, somebody walked into our room. This was after already switching from one room to another. There wasn’t a lot of organization going on and again, I’ll say it was bad timing, and just leave it at that!
- Miguel (10/5): - Thank you very much
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cheapest yet very clean! - Staff was nice, and super clean for a two star, normally you get what you pay for, but in this case the night was a steal since it was the cheapest I have ever paid for a room! If that's what you're looking for, you've found it!
And you can park in front of your window, so for a guy with a brand new motorcycle that's very nice :)
- Todd (2/5): Save your money and go elsewhere! - The man who checked us in took about 20mins just to answer the door…he was VERY rude.
The beds still had the original plastic on them! Talk about GROSS & TACKY!!
The blinds on the windows had blades missing & the morning sun woke us all up!!
The bathroom was TINY, toilet paper doesn’t have any type of holder…just sits on a counter top. Shower/tub is gross. Yellowed with age and hairs left in it. Makes sense there are no photos of the tub/shower on this site!
Again, the man was very rude and unprofessional. He was obviously upset we woke him up to check in…yet he doesn’t live here so shouldn’t be sleeping on the job. PERIOD! That’s very unprofessional for him to be rude to customers!
- Mark (10/5): - Nice
- Lucinda (8/5): - Very clean and cozy place!
The owner was pleasant and accommodating.
They’re in the process of renovating, but the finished rooms are all very nicely done. I would definitely return.
- Nancy (2/5): Stay away!!! - The room had little to be desired. Very disappointed
- Emmett (10/5): - This location was very clean and perfect for my husband's one night stay at last minute on his business trip. We booked and paid for the room on Expedia and since this app take awhile to notify the hotel my husband did have to pay again once he got there. But the owner then saw the mistake that my husband was double charged one by the Expedia app once it was finally update to their system but another by the hotel he immediately refunded my husband with no issues in less then a day. He apologized and also gave another call to make sure we received and to once again apologized. I have explain to the owner of the hotel it was my 3rd time dealing with Expedia issues contacting the hotel for payment that this was at no fault of him but appreciate how fast he fixed the issue after he figured it out. Will 100% book again when needing a last minute booking again.
- Erik (2/5): Room smelled like rotten wood. - The room smelled like rotten wood. The water in the shower was cold. When I contacted staff over the cold water I was just informed that the room next to me didn’t have a problem. I’d consider the staff to be unaccommodating and unfriendly. There was no vent in the bathroom (nor window), so the smoke detector went off even during the cold shower.
Overall one of the worst motels I’ve stayed in.
- Alejandro (10/5): Amazing experience - Honestly never like motels because how dirty they can be. But this was a whole different experience, you can tell they take very good care of this motel very easy to get in contact with someone if needed help, changed my perspective on how motels can be. I recommend you guys to at least come check out this place
- Sharon (6/5): - Appears they are renovating. Plastic on the mattess made it noisy to sleep. No ice machine, but the owner did bring me some ice for my cup.
- Bing (6/5): -
safe, quiet, easy parking.
- nicole (8/5): - As a budget friendly property it was very good. The neighborhood in Watertown around the hotel was safe and friendly. The owner walked us to our room and made sure we knew how to work the code lock on the door. The room was very clean and freshly painted. The bedding was clean and smelled washed. For the money this hotel checked all of our boxes on our needs. The local restaurant Moe’s Place is amazing! The throwback diner feel and food cooked right, made the stay that much better.
- Curt (8/5): - Very nice for the price!
- Wanda (8/5): - Nest Inn appears to be a newly remodeled motel. Very clean. Very basic.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great spot for a 1 night stay… very affordable and clean.
- MARK (10/5): - Nice place for the price
- Tascha (10/5): - We had a wonderful time! Owner was very kind and helpful!
- Sriparvathi (10/5): - Quite and peaceful
- Le Ila (8/5): - We felt very comfortable staying there. It was quiet and relaxing. It was also near a lot of shopping areas that we needed, namely Wal-Mart. It's close to the army post so we could easily visit our son and his family.
Our one concern was that the shower water was not hot enough for my husband. It was luke-warm for me, which is okay. But he definitely likes hot water. There was plenty of hot water from the bathroom sink, and we loved having the fridge and microwave!
- Tarra (10/5): - I liked the owner very much
The eco rating was coz no recycling - but that’s the area, not the motel itself
- Samantha (2/5): - 6l
- Marie (8/5): Restful night on a road trip - Rustic motel, clean and comfortable, quiet for a good night's sleep.
- Randolph (8/5): - I believe they are doing renovations so there was some unsafe areas. Definitely not a spot to bring kids or big pet dogs. Owner was friendly, the location is a five miles from Watertown and there are stores and eateries close but you still have to drive to them from the Inn. Bring slippers and a warm robe!
- Kimberly (2/5): - FORT DRUM FAMILIES: DO NOT STAY HERE! I came to this area to support my sister & her children at Fort Drum while her husband is deployed. This establishment has no regard for guest safety or for military families. Disappointed is an understatement. We were exhausted when we checked in Thursday night, after being awake for almost 24 hours/traveling. We were shown to the room & could immediately smell chemical fumes. Against my better judgement, we stayed the night. After barely sleeping due to noxious chemical smell and the bright light from the parking lot blasting through the window all night, we went to checkout Friday around 7am. I had developed a headache, scratchy throat and watery eyes overnight. Leaving the room, I noticed that the rooms directly next to ours were under construction which I suspect caused the chemical smell. When we went to checkout, no one was in the office and there was no answer when we called the number provided so we were forced to leave without resolving the issue. I reached out directly to the owners of the motel through their website to inform them of my concerns & to cancel the remainder of our stay as a precaution for our health. Rather than acknowledging our concerns, we were gaslit & told we would not be refunded for the unused nights we booked. We were told to contact Expedia & I am in the process of working with Expedia to resolve this issue. I am also filing a complaint with the NYS Better Business Bureau.
- ROCCO (8/5): - Very Clean. Polite Staff and in a quiet spot. I did not care for the plastic on the mattress and the wireless kept dropping out so the television did not work well.
- Melissa (2/5): - This was hands down the worst experience I've ever had at a motel. I don't have high expectations for cheaper places to stay, but I was at least expecting it to be decent and clean given the reviews. This was my experience.
When my partner and I arrived the motel smelled strongly of bleach to the point my throat started to hurt. I thought that at least the room would be clean, so we opened the windows and left for a few hours to let it air out. Once we came back we noticed a lot of things. There were crumbs and hair on the nightstand and floor, and some food stains on the ground near the table. The toilet was leaking water, and the sink only ran hot water.
The entire motel also felt very humid despite the air being dry outside. Any clothing that we brought began to smell musty and felt damp. My paperwork also started to feel damp and curl over the course of 30min, so I couldn't work on anything during our stay. The towels were absolutely disgusting, and they smelled gross and unwashed.
There was also a bug problem. We had flies and spiders that we had to take care of. Luckily there was no bed bugs. Lastly, the wifi connected but kept erroring out, so we had to use data the entire time.
I canceled my other booking for this motel and I won't be returning ever again. Maybe my experience was just a fluke given the other reviews, but this experience was so horrible that I can't justify giving it another chance.
- Samantha (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable
The room is great and the bed is so comfy
- Katey (10/5): - Fantastic motel! Very clean and very friendly staff.
- Abigail (8/5): - Good
- Sampson (8/5): - Perfect condition
- Chris (2/5): - was not able to check in no one was available, need to stay at a different location. hotel should be removed from Expedia. made and sent numerous phone call and text to contact number listed on the door to the office with no response.
- John (10/5): - Awesomely quiet
- Evgenii (10/5): - Very good hotel.
- Kelly (10/5): - The owner was super kind and accommodating! Would stay again!
- Terry (10/5): - Very nice and quiet place with great staff. The room actually looks like it does in the pictures. Will definitely stay here again
- Katey (10/5): - It was just all around the best hotel I’ve been to. It’s neat and tidy, quiet. Staff is wonderful.
- Bruce (10/5): - They were extremely accommodating. We arrived in a snowstorm and they were diligent in being sure we could leave the next morning. My significant other forgot his watch in the room and they went to extensive lengths to get it back to him in Canada! Good people!!
- kirsten (10/5): - very nice and respectful people and amazing rooms !!
