Guest Reviews
- Ashley (2/5): - This was false advertising. Property name is not the same and their app did not work and we could not get into the property NOR get anyone on the phone. We spent 2 hours on the phone to try and get in and finally had to book another hotel. And it’s been a week and my money has yet to be returned even though Expedia said they would refund me
- Kathie (10/5): - Loved the apartment! Very spacious, clean, brand new. Access to bike paths. Seemed like a quirky location but everything is close by car or bike.
- Catrina (6/5): - The concept is nice, but the execution/completion would make it nicer. Power went out for over 32 hrs (not sure if it was longer because I left for better accomodations), alarms went off, there is no alternative to the steep stairs due to the elevators not being complete. It was cool for the few hours I had power.
- Matthew (6/5): Brilliant apartment, nightmare checkin - Pro: amazing apartment, spacious, great location, and had all we needed and more.
Con: our check in process was a nightmare.
My advice for the next person- Make sure you have done the "move in application" days before arriving and have an american phone number and plenty of data to complete it. I recommend checking in during the day so you do not have to hunt for the key at night.
- Crystal (2/5): - I am letting everyone I know to save their TIME and MONEY by staying AWAY from this place.
Check in is the ABSOLUTE WORST. ( We booked with Barsala through Expedia)
We finally got in to settle after 2 am on our day of reservation because of the late and difficult instructions.
Upon arrival, We were told to access the keys to get inside the building from the lockboxes outside, only to find the box empty. After having to follow another guest inside, we finally made it to the room.
Outside of the guests rooms on our floor was bagged trash piled up, along with food and drink substances wasted all over the floor. This stayed there the whole 3 days we were .
There was no internet which means no TV or devices relying on wifi can be used. (INCLUDINGMY SONS medical device for type 1 diabetes )
The bed looked as if it had been laid on with hairs all over the top blanket.
The toilet rocks and not mounted well to the floor
The waster pressure is nothing more than a sprinkler.
The pool is so filthy that no visitors swim here.
Finally to make this all worse , property management cannot be reached by neither the 800 number given to contact the property or Expedia to accept complaints nor assist in any matters or concerns after day 2. The ONLY reason my family stayed there is because we have paid our hard earned money which we will probably never get back but I will be sure to leave my reviews along with pics ( and I have PLENTY) to warn people of this property. NEVER AGAIN!
- martin (2/5): - This property was one of the most misleading and horrible lodging experiences I’ve ever endured. First of all it is nowhere near shops and cafés. It is at the end of a dirt road with a chain-link fence in an industrial park. Directly behind the property are railroad tracks upon which long freight trains go by 24 hours a day. I heard them-LOUD! The shower drain didn’t drain properly. The HVAC vent in the bathroom is directly above the sink which blows constant cold air when you stand there. The Keurig coffee machine didn’t work. To open the front door, after 5PM, you have to search out lockboxes which are on the chain-link fence. There are no working elevators in the building. They are installing some, but the building is clearly under construction and in a no way should be open for public use. I had to carry my suitcases up 4 flights of stairs and then down a long corridor. If you lose the simple front door key the change is $250.
The building is primarily used as leased units for what appeared to be young professionals. To me it reminded me of a fraternity house. At 3:30 AM, a young man and woman got into a heated argument outside my door, which again woke me up from my much-needed sleep, and I was afraid to encounter them because, once again, there is no on site manager on the property after 5 PM. I was planning on having my wife and friends stay here, but after two horrific nights, I rented rooms in the downtown Westin. What relief to be back into civilization.
- Charlyne (10/5): - Inside property looked like the pictures - very clean and quiet.
Property is under construction- no elevator. Close to downtown but VERY much off the beaten path. Bad lighting in parking area. Overall EXCELLENT stay.
- Janet (8/5): - Great access to bike trail. No working elevator and 3 flights of stairs with luggage is a challenge.
- Shawn (10/5): - Amazing
- Lawanda (6/5): - Loud neighbors, wifi went out for sometime,
- Krys (8/5): - This is an old mill turned into an apartment building. Scary pulling up but the inside is beautiful! Well put together however the only negatives would be that the elevator is not in operation and there are so many stairs which can be a pain with luggage. The walls are also very thin and you can hear everything that comes from the units nextdoor or above yours. And I mean everything!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Checkin is horrible - Apartment itself was clean and comfortable. The process to gain access was horrible and stressful. No communication ahead of time of the process… verifying identification stays complete but wasn’t-twice!, the link to the site only works using Google Chrome, phone codes to register wouldn’t send, site says to download an app to use to open the apartment door, customer service said to use a different app. This was over a period of 3 days. Lockbox with key to the building is hidden down in the grass. Elevators are not working, LOTS of stairs and walking to get to apartment. Building is in the back of industrial park.
Walls are paper thin, can hear neighbors conversations.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Brian's trip - Overall, the apartment was nice. It was what I needed. However, it was very difficult to contact anyone. I got there late at night and could not contact anyone. It was difficult to located the key boxes at night. Not much lighting. Also it did not have any towels or toilet paper. And the bed was short sheeted. Not sure why. The next day I was able to walk around and figure some things out. The room itself was nice.
- Shabriabhuh (10/5): - Great location , with peace and quiet . 10/10 RECOMMEND !!!
- Edward (10/5): - Great place for a different experience
Enjoyed the train
- Lydia (10/5): - Unique apartments. Staff and management were professional and met all my needs.
- AMY (4/5): - Large amount of steps to get to apartments. Awful communication!!! Only can reach staff per text & usually no response. Was very upset with communications when power out x 24 hours. No flashlights/candles available. Never received door code & took an hour to get help to be able to get in apartment after carrying belongings up the 3 flights of stairs. Urban neighborhood but security guard at night. Apartment itself very clean. Comfortable new beds.
- Sherissa (10/5): - Beautiful place with tons of history. Very clean and quiet. It’s close to everything. Comfy beds and very nice bedding. Security guards all night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A few kinks to work out with the check in process but a great space.
- Patsy (2/5): - A serious security issue This hotel gave another person my hotel code and in the middle of the night they came into my room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly Recommend - An absolute gym in Greenville. The building is an old mill built in 1902 so it looks rough when you first pull in but the interior is incredible and the rooms are very nice
- James (2/5): - The plus is it’s all new but access is horrible with NO way to connect with anyone to help. :-/
- Andrea (6/5): - I want to say that I do understand this place is also an apartment building however, even though I have lived in a type of place like this in Greenville, it was very noisy and you can literally hear the person’s phone go off next-door. The key that was supposed to open the front door that was in my apartment did not open it. I had to go to the safe every time to get the other one out. you can definitely tell that they surface cleaned it, but it wasn’t deep clean like it needed to be. Overall, I would come back and give them a second chance, but I do not think it’s worth the money.
- Amber (10/5): Old charm, with modern design - I arrived late at night, so at first it was something out of an old scary film, but also with an updated charm, because of the detail description and location of key and clear cut directions, it was easy to navigate and once inside, it was cozy and welcoming.
- MARIA (10/5): - After I saw no nice reviews. I would like to say that my experience was opposite. Very safe, clean, apartments in super good condition, nice people around, close to everywhere. 9 minutes from downtown. Security at night. I parked my car and nothing happened. We came late and we felt secure.
Great illumination inside and outside the building.
Pictures showed are real.
Anyway! Considering they’re not finished yet the construction is very nice property.
And if someone in your group can not walk long distances and stairs… just consider since the elevator is not active.
Take stairs at the back and you will save at least 60 steps….
Totally recommended ♥️🤗🙏
- Cynthia (8/5): - The property was fabulous however there was no working elevators. I did not feel safe with surroundings.
- Noemi (2/5): Not ADA Friendly - It may have been a great experience if we got to stay here. Before I made my reservation, i called Barsala and asked if their hotel in Greenville SC has an elevator and I was told I that there is. The reason I asked is because my husband is disabled. On our way to the hotel I was told that our unit will be on the 2nd flr with instructions to climb a flight of stairs. I messaged the concierge and asked them if they have an elevator and told them my husband cannot climb stairs and is disabled. The response did not come quickly and when it did, it was short and cryptic. “Unfortunately no elevator please cancel thru Expedia.” We had to look for another place at the last minute. I did contact their call center and told them about this debacle. Fortunately they were more sympathetic and apologetic and we were told that they would be willing to give us a refund. On a normal situation this would not have been an issue but when someone has a disability, their response seemed like a big snub.
- Wyatt (8/5): - Place was nice, staff didn’t have much hospitality. Because the elevators are not operational we walked on the far back side to our room and up 3-4 flights of stairs with all of our stuff and an infant. Almost exhausting to just go out.
- Holly (10/5): Much Needed Escape - My husband and I were looking for a soft place to land over the holidays. This was such a breath of fresh air for us after a long season of renting. We loved the apartment. It was fresh, clean, and a great size. It was located perfectly to everything we wanted to do. We're thankful we could celebrate Christmas there. We really enjoyed watching the trains go by as well. It's so nice to see an old building with new life in it. We will recommend to our friends looking for a cozy spot to rest and relax that's still close to all the action of downtown.
- Kyle (10/5): - Excellent place very classy and upscale and very reasonable price
