- Brian Michael (6/5): - The woman at the front desk was not very friendly and acted like I was an inconvenience. She also closed 3 hours early 1 day and changed the hours on the door.

- Lilyana (4/5): - Very disappointing stay. The resort was overrun with huge mosquitoes (in the pool, playground, rooms, and even in our car). The apartment was just okay — the bathroom was clean, but the kitchen drawers were dirty, the bed squeaky and broken, and there weren’t enough blankets. Maintenance was loudly nailing on the deck right outside our door while my daughter was napping. The playground was dirty with animal droppings, and the nearby water smelled more like a swamp than the ocean. Staff were unfriendly, the front desk closed at 4 p.m., and customer service was poor. Overall, not comfortable or enjoyable.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was nothing like the website at all. We could not go to the beach at all due to the excessive seaweed, which had the worst odor I have ever smelled. The a/c units were all rusted on the outside of the building. There was no housekeeping. Its the first resort that we've been to that doesn't have complimentary toiletries. Pool towels had to be checked out & you can only have the amount of people staying in the room. Check in is at 4pm & you have exactly 1 hour. After that its too bad, so sad. They make you wait until the next day. Laundry room is way overpriced- $3 per wash, $3 per dry. Thats insane. But I did it anyway because I dont like going home with dirty clothes. The list can go on but there is not enough room. I would not recommend this resort.

- Suzanne (6/5): - The room is extremely deteriorated. As sad that it is old , it is also not cleaned or maintained . It was full of dust in all the electrical outlets. Doors were not even painted when installed. The room odor was tried to be covered with cleaning products but the smell was in the room each time you went in. This could be such a quaint place if you spend in remodeling and upgrading the rooms. It is truly a shame that the reviews were not truthful. This is not and 8.8 hotel ever. This is a motel of 5.0 . I have all the pictures of my findings and am willing to share what I saw.

- Melody (8/5): - We had a beautiful view and enough space in the apartment for our group of 5. It was nice that they had kayaks and bikes available but it was hard to actually use them trying to coordinate when staff was there and allowing to have them 2 hours. I just didn’t feel like the front office was there to serve the customers. Not terrible but not great. The smell is petty strong off of the water, not pleasant, but it's a petty view. Loved all of the iguanas and lizards! I won't stay there again but we are grateful for the time we had there.
- Judy (8/5): - The resort was nice and well maintained. It could use a little updating but we werent there that much so it fit our needs perfectly. The negatives was a never ending fire alarm chirping in our room even after a battery change and a too soft mattress.
- Gema (8/5): - Overall it was good except for two things. The couch and living room has a stench very bad smell. I stayed before at another unit and the smell was as awful as this one. They need to change whatever is causing this smell. The other issue I have is with the checkout time of 10 AM. Everyone else has 11 am or noon.

- Ben or Kathy (10/5): A pleasant surprise - What a surprise, finding this jewel of a resort. Our unit had a large bedroom with a king bed, lots of storage, a kitchen that was well furnished, a comfy living area, and a very large pool.
- Heather (10/5): - The units were very clean and spacious and every room seems to have a beautiful patio. We really enjoyed the free kayaks and bicycles as well as the saltwater pool. There are also hammocks on the beach hanging from the palm trees and the white sand beaches were so beautiful there.

- Roland (6/5): - Der Strand ist leider unbrauchbar. Nicht mal ein Schritt ins Wasser ist möglich. Die Klimaanlage schaltet sich immer wieder an und aus mit hohem Lärmpegel. Nachts musste man sie abschalten, sonst wäre schlafen unmöglich gewesen. Der Pool und das Aussengelände sind nett, aber alles in allem ziemlich abgewirtschaftet.

- Scott P (10/5): On the road again - This is a wonderful resort! We stopped here for 2 nights on our way further down the keys and what a gem! Our little apartment was so comfy with a full kitchen and a huge porch overlooking the garden, which is beautiful by the way. A large living room and dining area with a T.V. in the living room and the bedroom. The pool area is really nice and also a beautiful little beach on the ocean. There is so much to do right on the property that you don’t even have to get in the car! Shuffle board, volleyball, ping pong, horseshoes and a cool playground for the kids. There are grills throughout the property that you can use also. We usually spend most of our time in the Keys at a nice place in Marathon but this will now be our place to stay as is is just a great find and we are so comfortable here

- Ana (8/5): - I had a great time, loved the fact that the pool was heated that made a huge difference and an appropriated one. The room was also very comfortable only thing was I was very underwhelmed with the bathroom. That is one place that should have been updated especially the shower. Otherwise I will definitely stay here again.
- Todd (10/5): A great base to enjoy the Keys! - Our efficiency was spacious and appeared to have been recently remodeled. Everything was clean and functional, there's good sound-proofing between units, and our stay was delightful. My wife used a kayak and a bike, and the staff were helpful in every way. Towels were plentiful (be sure to get / exchange pool towels at the office) and plush. We arrived after the office had closed for the evening, but our key was waiting for us, and the next morning the staff were very helpful - the young lady in the office was sweet and nice, and she had one of the maintenance staff help my wife get a kayak to the water. The beach was above average for the Keys, and all the amenities were wonderful. If you want a real Keys experience, the middle Keys are the place to be, and Matacumbe Resort is a great place to stay.

- Petra (10/5): Beatiful place to wind down - This hotel was the final stop on our Florida road trip, and it was exactly what my son and I needed—a place to unwind and relax. There were plenty of activities to enjoy, such as ping pong and kayaking, and the pool was well-maintained. We stayed in an apartment-style room in the building near the beach, and the sunrise views were spectacular. The only downside was the reception hours, which seemed to operate on "island time." While there are no nearby cafes or stores, the famous Robbie's of Islamorada is not too far away. If I visit the Florida Keys again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here.
- Eero (6/5): Ok, but no beach access - The place is ok. Older, very basic. The place is on the beach, but the beach is not swimmable. I would not stay here for a week, fine for an overnight stay.
