- Lynsey (10/5): - Lovely location, however attention to detail not so good, lovely sea view, but dirty windows, dirty window sills, and dirty bathroom cabinet. No iron or ironing board available without having to go back to reception to ask for one, I didn't do this so not sure if they would provide one. But for a 4 star hotel I would expect that in the room. Very small bathroom and shower and if you are on the larger size the shower is an issue.

- David (8/5): Very hotel but has space and stair issues! - Hotel is beautiful, and clearly been refurbished recently. Our room looked very hi spec and the beds are comfortable - it was great to have a separate bedroom for the kids. However - our family room was on the third floor, with no lift. If we had known this we would not have booked. Trying to get a three year old and a ten month old up three steep flights of stairs, with all associated luggage l, buggy etc was not fun. Parking was also not clear - we drove around for a while looking for the hotel car park, or the on street parking as advertised but everywhere was restricted. We called several times whilst driving around to ask for instructions but no answer. It was only when we parked in a restricted zone out of desperation and ran into the hotel reception to ask for help did we discover that they had ‘disc’ parking cards for us to use. The room, while very nice and well decorated obviously had been designed with style over common sense - the entryway and the second bedroom with the bunk beds were cavernous with a lot of empty space - but the bathroom was absolutely tiny, with no surface space to put anything. For four people this was difficult! The sink was so small it was difficult to get the kettle under the tap to fill up! Why on earth they would leave metres of space in the bedroom and entry hall empty instead of building a bigger bathroom is beyond me. We would stay again - but only if guaranteed a ground floor room!

- Frank (8/5): A pleasant hotel with a wonderful receptionist. - The gentleman at reception could not have been more helpful. A credit to the hotel. Breakfast choice was good. View wonderful. Only downside was as no outside door handle meant the "make up room" sign fell down and landed on "do not disturb" side and so room was not made up.

- A E (10/5): Room 22 great Sea views. - Great Hotel Ian and Gemma were both very helpful Ian even helping with our luggage from Car to room, Room very clean and sea views were amazing the only issue we had which might appear trivial to some was beautiful bathroom but no Towel rail so the only place to put your towels was on the loo seat also no toiletry shelf there was a low cupboard below the sink but for some bending so low down is not an option but all in all great staff and great environment well done to all.

- Matthew (10/5): Shiny and new, with a sea view too! - Amazing sea views from the newly completed Executive Sea View room. Everything looked brand new, because it was! Tastefully decorated and very comfortable. What could be better than waking up to the sound of waves lapping against the shore and view of the sea. The staff were also extremely welcoming and friendly.
- Ronald (8/5): - I paid £190 for one night in what I thought would be a superior suite. This didn't include breakfast. I was shown a ground floor room with a view of the bins. Managed to change to a sea view on the third floor. Elevator only goes to floor 2 so stairs up another floor. My room was nice but there wasn't a chair to sit on. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was smalll but nice. No complaints really, but I think I paid too much for this room.

We were here for the cricket. The result of the match could have been better but the location was pretty perfect.

- Robert (8/5): one night weekend stay. - We stopped in the first floor sea view room for one night. I managed to park outside the hotel early in the morning and went to reception to see where the hotel car park was. I was given brief instructions where it was. I could not find a parking space and was disappointed the reception never made me aware I could purchase a parking card for the street. This caused me to pay £16 to park at the NCP carpark until the following day. The room was clean and comfortable. The sea and coastal view was excellent. I didn't have breakfast. I thought £15 a head was excessive. The location is good for walking to the south or north side and the town centre.

- Heather (2/5): - I booked a double seaview room 6 months in advance, to arrive and be told they had overbooked. Initially they said I could have an upgrade and showed us to a suite, which was beautiful. Within 10 minutes the staff knocked to say they needed to move us to a different room but it was still an upgrade. We were shown to a tiny, ground floor room with a view onto what I can only describe as a building site. Half built fencing with black backing hanging off, bare dirt,ld this was unacceptable and not an upgrade, I was told it was, in fact, an upgrade because it was called an "executive room" (strangely not listed on the website as a room type). It was, in reality, a significant downgrade. When pressed for at least a partial refund, it was insisted that because it was "technically an upgrade" they couldn't offer any refund. As a result we cancelled the booking as £135 for one night in a stuffy box room with no view is an absolute rip off. We also missed our dinner booking because of the hour it took to be moved around and dealt with the staff. I also arranged in advance to have a spot in the carpark as I'm a blue badge holder. At the time I was told there should be space, but there's plenty of parking on the street and would be able to park directly in front of the hotel if not. I contacted them on the day to ask where the car park is and they wouldn't tell me, saying to find somewhere on the street and that "Availability can be hit and miss, but there is usually a space available."
- Julie (8/5): Wonderful hotel let down by tiny bedroom - First of all would like to say that the hotel is spotless, with a lovely bar and modern dining room. The staff are very helpful and friendly in fact we were upgraded to a sea view which was stunning. We parked in the free car park which is a rarity these days. However the size of our bedroom let it down. There was barely room to squeeze past the bed to get to the toilet for the person near the window. This is a big deal for elderly guests who need to access the toilet during the night. Younger guests may not find this a problem. In spite of this we would definitely re- visit this lovely hotel, just being a bit more selective about the type of room.
- Kai-Uwe (10/5): - Das Hotel hat eine erstklassige Lage. Die Zimmer mit Meerblick sind klasse. Die Sicht auf‘s Meer ist traumhaft schön. Das Viertel hinten raus ist sehr schlicht und nicht so prickelnd. Man muss ein paar Meter laufen um in schönere Ecken des Ortes zu kommen. Herausragend ist das Personal, alle, wirkliche alle Mitarbeitenden sind super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch der Chef des Hauses ist toll, er hat uns bei einem Problemchen schnell geholfen. Das Frühstück im Hotel ist typisch englisch und sehr gut. Die Zimmer sind komfortabel, die Betten gut. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely large bathroom. - Very glad that there was a lift. My single room was small but had all I needed. The shower was a really good size which made it easy to get into. There is a lounge with a lovely view of the sea. You can walk down to North Bay beach. The breakfast was extra but very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only problem is that there are steps from the street to the front door.

There is limited free parking, but permit street parking is available in front of the hotel for a small fee for 24hr. I managed to get a spot right in front, so I didn’t mind paying for the permit.

- Simon (10/5): Scarborough break. - If someone took you in blind folded you would think it was a brand new build!. The smell of fresh paint, new carpets and general cleanliness. The location is a lovely quite one with fantastic views of North bay (room 32). Had a great stay, easy parking, only £5 for 2 night stay directly outside hotel steps!!. Just one down point with room, would have been nice for a full length mirror. Would definitely stay again.
- HOWARD (10/5): - The hotel appears to have had a recent revamp, and all aspects are modern and spotlessly clean. The bedrooms are adequate without being spacious, with ensuite shower rooms, many with sea views overlooking the quieter but more scenic north bay, ranging from the castle ruins to the sea life centre. The hotel's private parking is being resurfaced at present, so parking is on nearby streets with permits available from reception at £5.00. Breakfast in the modern dining room was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a very pleasant stay.

- Thomas (8/5): Very clean hotel. - Probably the only hotel we have felt like taking our shoes off in as we entered, seemed very clean. Only issue was a buzzing/humming coming from one of the plug sockets, this was raised the following morning.

- W (10/5): Great value and comfortable overnight stay - I stayed in the single compact room which was ideal for me as I was at a function so just needed a clean and comfortable overnight stay. I found the room to be very clean. Plenty of drawer and wardrobe space. A vegan option for breakfast was available for me. Overall I found my stay to be excellent value for money
- Laura (8/5): Ok, but…. - Hotel itself is well positioned and you can see it’s been recently modernised and is very clean. However, the advertised parking included was not the case. It’s under renovation and no word of this is given on the booking or the following emails that came to my inbox after confirmation. We had to pay for street parking which had the hotel’s parking garage been full, I would have paid. We were expected to pay even without the advertised garage, which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. The other issue was the smell. The entire building smelt of drains, and when we entered our room it was evidently coming from plugholes. I suspect a greater problem is at hand here and it needs addressing.

- joanne (10/5): A fabulous clean friendly stay - From the moment we walked in the door this hotel was fabulous. We were meet by plush carpet & furniture through out the hotel. The gentleman on reception was friendly, professional and really knowledgeable of the area, places to see & go. We were al made to feel welcome. Our rooms were amazing, spacious, clean comfortable. The other areas of the hotel were clean and well kept. Breakfast was great. The bar well stocked with games on every table. This hotel would be suited to all sorts of travellers. It has a lift to the high rooms and a good staircase.
- Colette (10/5): - Great property, the manager was super helpful showing us where to park, even let us check in early as the room was ready, hotel looked very fresh and clean, room looked freshly decorated and newly carpeted, great room very spacious and plenty of hot drinks to use and biscuits when we arrived, shower was great really powerful and hot, will definitely return in the future!!
