Guest Reviews
- Debra (10/5): - There late at night each night & view N/A
Parking lot in back near woods & animal life was an adventure, yet not in their control.
- Raymond (2/5): - This is an old facility that is past due for a renovation or demolition. The hallway to the room had a nasty odor, a garbage bag laid in the hall for two days, the tube faucet puked black debris when first turned on, the bed pillows were trash. The old design of the room is poor, especially the bathroom. The photos listed are from at least 30+ years ago. It doesn't look like this anymore!
- Louise (2/5): - Awful! Probably in the top three of the worst accommodation that we have had in over 30 years of travelling.
Dirty, blood stained duvet, hallway carpets covered in dirt and need a deep hoover and scrub. Room smelt stale, possibly of smoke. The ceiling was cracked and badly repaired, covered in water stains, Skirting boards covered in dust. Bathroom sink had no plug and the shower squirted more water out of the shower head to pipe joint thn the actual shower head. The toilet and bathroom was dirty. We wouldn’t walk anywhere in the room or corridors bare foot.
Breakfast was poor, limited and some items still frozen!
No pride in their motel - lazy cleaning inside, poor state outside including broken windows.
Our advice to people considering booking - don’t bother.
- megan (6/5): - Says they have a pool but it is shut down
- Steve (2/5): - Extremely strong odor of urine in the room and cleanliness was certainly not up to domestic standards. I was locked out of my smelly room twice because of key card failures. Rather than apologizing and graciously letting me into my room the apparent proprietor suggested that I leave the safety latch open on the rear entrance which I did until bedtime. When the key card failed the second time the apparent proprietor called me stupid and accused me of being drunk and not leaving the other door unlocked. It should be noted that this was not the kind of establisment that a prudent person would not double lock the door.
- LINES (4/5): - The room was ok. But the hotel needs alot of renovations. Very old and smelly
- Monica (2/5): Don’t waste your time or money - Staff is horrible they gave my room away after confirming I was still coming. Left my dad & I who traveled over 2hrs away without a room. Would never recommend this dump to anyone
- Thomas (6/5): - Rooms were clean. The exterior looks awful. Broken snd rotten boards. The back entrance door which was new was sitting on a VERY rotten board. At the rear entrance siding was hanging off the building. Service and rooms were good. Everything else needed improvement.
- Brandy (8/5): - Close proximity to Bank NH Pavilion.
- Susanne (4/5): - Sheets were clean which is most important. However No hot water in shower. Tub water did not drain. One lamp didn't work. Toilet was not cleaned well. We informed the owner and he indicated they will be renovating soon which definitely needs to be done! Staff were friendly and courteous.
- Michael (6/5): - Good location needs major upgrading decent byt for the money should be better taken care of
- Kenneth (2/5): - Worst place ever DONT go here Run down just horrible
- laura (10/5): - The hotel is outdated, but very clean rooms, I did not check bathtub, but toilet and sink area we're fine. I care more about cleanliness of floor and the bed was very clean and comfortable. I stayed in a single bed room, we requested a refrigerator for diabetic supplies and it was fine. No microwave in room, but microwaves at end of hallway. Breakfast was fine sausage egg cheese croissant that I heated in microwave, and bagels and toaster and fresh fruit and yogurt and coffee, orange juice and milk. Staff was kind and helpful when asked for anything. I will definitely come back and save money. Thank you so much!!!
- Nicole (4/5): - Close down or don’t charge people to stay here.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Couldn’t wait to leave - The motel was very dated and lobbies were dirty, (carpeting especially). There was also a stale and pungent smell in the lobby. The rooms were better. You get what you pay for. Would not recommend.
- Michael (2/5): - This is right out of a horror movie.First, the BEST part of the stay was the actual room itself. It’s been updated within the last 15 yrs and was the cleanest part of the place.Outside the rickety door was a smelly, dark hallway with stained carpets that should’ve been replaced in 1990. The lights flicker In the hallway which allow you to see thru the windows to the indoor pool that has also prob abandoned in the 90’s. Dirty smelly crusty old place with 2 cellophane wrapped “muffins” and 2 stale bagels for breakfast. Room and bathroom were fine. I felt comfortable once I dragged the armoire in front of the door. I’d get my money back but the scary pics are worth every penny
- Nancy L (4/5): Not worth the few $ saved. - Room was in bad shape. No hairdryer. Part of the Econolodge group, but an old one and in bad shape.
- Valerie (4/5): - Very run down
- George (2/5): Never again! - I will never! Ive stayed in questionable places but this reminded me of a horror movie. Place is very run down. Over priced! Will not recommend!
Surprised its on hotels.com!
- Morgan (8/5): - Good pet friendly place
- Sarosh (10/5): - Great service
- H Mark (4/5): - Run-down, tired, with an odd smell about the place. Lackluster hospitality, dreary room, and the free continental breakfast was bleak, at best. So overpriced. What a mistake.
- Brian (2/5): Worst place we've ever stayed - Facility smelled really bad. Shower smelled like sewer and no water pressure, Had to share microwave at end of hallway.
- Craig (10/5): - Very reasonable price for summer.
Dated but clean.
- JoanM (8/5): - Very good central location, very clean, user friendly, quiet, good parking, polite. Good rates.
- Martha (2/5): - Breakfast frozen sparse, , dirty, mattress, old caved in on couch , . You always know there are issues when you drive up and windows are boarded up. We came in once after they delivered towels after we were gone and our inside door was open.
- frank (6/5): - Pro: location and comphy beds
Cons: outdated, smelly, lots of webs and bugs outside and on outdoor funiture. Bedrooms are stinky, hallways are dingy and creepy with flickering lights lol Not worth $150 a night, more like $59 a night. The whole building Needs a whole new construction.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Ok but not worth the price - Was meh. Definitely not worth the 200$ charge for one night. Should have been half that price. Only chose it cuz it was the only dog friendly place around. Doesnt show online that the dog fee is 25$ extra too. There was sand on the floor and just basic cable only. Otherwise fine for just a one night sleep.
- Candace (10/5): - Good place to stay on short notice
- dennis (2/5): The worst room ever/service ive ever experienced. - Was not clean it had dirty /stained sheets busted furniture, the bathroom wouldnt close due to it being previously kicked in. It looked like the type of room youd expect to see on breaking bad. The peopl running the place werent exactly welcoming either. Not at all friendly. Had to wait a long time just to get someone to come to the front desk. When returning the room key the man sitting in a chair reading his paper simply stated" throw it on the desk" that was the extent of my checkout..
- Kerrie (6/5): - The outside property needs a lot of work.
Staff was okay. The room was not bad for the price.
- Diane (4/5): - Not a great place, it really needs to be cleaned up!
- Kevin (6/5): - Nice people running it. Price was very good.
- Michele (10/5): - This motel had everything we needed.
We were on Harley’s and wanted to be able to keep a close eye on the motorcycles so asked for a ground level room which they were happy to provide. The staff was very nice, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the AC worked great, I would be happy to stay here again if I visit this area in the future. Thank you so much. 😊
- Douglas (6/5): -
too close to the highway. The breakfast was terrible. Stale cereal and jeamy dean biscuits were old.
- Scott (6/5): - Needs to be updated. Hallways smell dirty
- Jacquelyne (2/5): - .
- joe (2/5): - From the moment we walked into the lobby there was smell of mold or mildew? we got in late and hoped the room would be better. Still had a bad smell in the room but we were exhausted and spent one night of a planned 7. Both my wife and I had sore throats when we woke up. The toilet seat was broken, hot water ran out before i finished my 2 minute shower. The free breakfast was cereal, bagels bananas and prepackaged sandwiches.Checked out the next morning and got a refund on the remaining days.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Worth the stay - Bed was incredibly comfortable. Water pressure and water temperature were less than desirable.
- Laurie (10/5): - It was a little close to the road. A little
- Joseph (6/5): - Meh, owner was rude
- Brian J. (8/5): - Some areas of the exterior need upgrading
- Robin (2/5): - This was my worst experience in 35 years of traveling. The manager was the most unprofessional, unhelpful, and rude person I ever encountered. I would NEVER stay at this place.
- Hannah (2/5): - Smelly, dirty and gross!! Our door was broken into. Fire alarm had tape covering it and was beeping constantly. Absolutely disgusting. Walked into our room, immediately called around to look for another hotel for the night, checked out and am trying to get a refund.
- Frank (8/5): - very little staff available. the front desk girl was very polite however she wasn’t there when we first went to check in so it put us behind but it was okay in the end
- Donna (2/5): - Did have our reservation in system. Said they would call Expedia to call it from them so that we can book direct from them. They weren’t willing to work with Expedia. No extra indoor lock on door. Bathroom doorknob was broken.
- Miranda (8/5): - I accidentally boomed twice & they were so kind & understanding. Fixed it & didnt charge me for both ljje they cpuld have. Very pleased with their customer servixe
- Katie (10/5): - Great hotel for the price and location. Right near the NH Bank Pavilion!
- Christiane (8/5): - Located in the beautiful lakes region of NH with nice water views. Family run hotel at a great value . Stayed for a concert at the nearby BankNH Pavillion and it was very convenient.
- Martin (6/5): Needs some work - Pictures are deceiving - room smelled like a black ice car air freshener that was over bearing. Musty smell throughout - however for a cheap overnight for a concert perfect.
- Kevan (2/5): - Need to smell better need carpet on the floor
- Robert (6/5): - Well this hotel is dated. Check in was simple. Seems the kids were helpful and nice. Room is dated, needs to be refreshed. Everything was unplugged. But beds were clean.
Shower had no water pressure and probably from the 1970s. Had bugs crawling on shower curtain and some blood stains so that was nice.
Room has 2 doors, one on the outside and 1 on the inside hallway. Kinda weird. Wife heard a noise later in the evening someone trying to get into the room. Spooked her.
Ok, you need to google the hotel and ghost hunters FYI!!!!
- Mary Ann (4/5): - Under the couch to sleep had dirty, and have blankets inside. All of this was inside to pick on the couch.
Also the door to the bathroom it would not close outside and outdoor.. The very pool is not opened because it's the terrible place. Unfortunately the room we set was very closed to the pool.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Spend more money. Go elsewhere. - I guess you get what you pay for. It was a room. It had a bed and bathroom. There was absolutely no water pressure in the sink. I actually put video of it on social media. It was so comical. It made it almost impossible to brush my teeth. Taking a shower was even more enjoyable.
- Jessica (4/5): - The staff were nice but the place is very run down, felt and smelled dirty, and is just poorly maintained. We were just there because it’s somewhat near the concert venue and lodging is limited, but we contemplated driving home vs. staying.
- cynthia (2/5): Poor! - Photos are very deceiving! Bed is hard . Tv wouldn’t shut off and couldn’t work remote at all . Couldn’t reach lobby attendant for help .
- Erin (6/5): - The pictures on the
- Terry (4/5): If Possible, Go Elsewhere - This motel is perhaps the worst I've ever had to settle for. The musty smell was overwhelming, the bathroom was so filthy, we didn't shower...we just got up, dressed and left. The price was ridiculous for what we had to endure.
- Gloria (6/5): - The entrancd had about a 10 inch step with no railing
- Monica (2/5): - Coffee- only decaf
Powdered creamer - not powdery but crunchy
Coffee maker - had to find an outlet that worked in order to plug it in
Hallway - floor didn’t seem sturdy
Lobby and room-musty smell
Furniture in room - old and worn
We had a “balcony” but didn’t seem to
be safe to stand on
Building was run down and back parking lot didn’t look like it would be safe
- Verified traveler (6/5): Wouldn't stay there again - Building as whole was extremely run down and deteriorated. Property wasn't well maintained. Hallways weren't dirty and didn't smell pleasant. Room it self was fine. Decently clean and obviously remodled compared to the rest ofnthe building/property.
- Asad (4/5): Pictures are very deceptive - A couple of pictures posted on the websites to advertise the hotel are a very good photographer work. In reality everything looks like it was supposed to be in the garbage long time ago. Very poorly maintained. Stairs were dangerous to use. Room door was wobbly. Hallway carpets all reaped and dusty. Shower spout rusty. Toilet had cigarette burn marks on the seat. Half of windows "painted" over I guess for "privacy. Paint is peeling off. Furniture very old, cheap and beat up. Nothing was renovated ever. And for $250 per night? Not good at all.
- sean (4/5): - Moldy shower
No fan in bathroom
2 of 3 lights not working
Small flies in sink and shower drains
- tedj (4/5): - The property is very tired! It needs a complete remodel. The photos online are not representative of the condition.
- shautel (4/5): I mean its a bed... - Girl at front desk was nice. The sheets were clean. The cable worked. The ac was cold. They were kind enough to call and let me know I forgot something in my room after we left......
The hallway smelled funny. The shampoo and conditioner and lotion were all half used (tiny travel bottles). The chair in the room was very dirty; as in you could srape the dirt off the arm. It had a bates motel vibe. Did not feel super safe with the people in the parking lot hovering and walking around the cars all day. Not workers just people there watching you bring all you stuff in. Owners did nothing about it.
- Paul (6/5): - The balcony had dig poop and not cleaned
- Sandra (4/5): - For an old hotel it was in decent shape, but we were missing a door bolt, heard the traffic all night and felt itchy in bed. Even for a basic overnight I would not book here again, especially for the price.
- ElizabetH (2/5): Horrible place I left crying - I was kicked out after an hour of being there because when we checked the bed for cleanliness we found the sheets covered in stains. We called down to the front desk. The employee came up looked at the bed called me a hooker and then threatened to call the police if we didn’t leave right away. It was the most humiliating experience I have ever had. I will never stay there again.
- Roger (6/5): - Clean, A/C worked very well. Comfortable bed and pillows.
Hallways and rooms very outdated.
Going into the hotel from the back is reminiscent of the old horror shows, entrance light blinking ……..
Expedia site failed to mention is was an Econolodge!
- Josrph (2/5): - Place was disgusting
- Giuliana (2/5): - Awful. The placed stunk, nobody was at the front desk when I was trying to check out I stood there in silence for 10 minutes. Under our pillows was black dog hair…we didn’t have a black dog. The shower had hair in it. The man seemingly living in the hotel room next to us was looking in cars at night time.
- James (2/5): - Booked 2 adults 1 child, got a king size bed and a couch. Close to road, traffic noisy. Pool empty, no water. Run down.
- Christine (4/5): - Did not change sheets at all for one week.
No real breakfast; I cannot eat bioengineered food. Coffee upset my stomach.
- darcey (2/5): - This place is terrible. From the run down property, too the hair, snot and bugs all over in our room… not to mention the smell. We left after 10 mins. Not what was advertised at all!
- jenny (6/5): - Great price great location the disappointing part was when check-in time was happening. There was absolutely nobody at the front desk
- Dee (6/5): - the property is long over due for an upgrade.didnt like that the room didnt have its own microwave available
- Danielle (2/5): - This place was absolutely disgusting and dirty. I will never return and will actually be contacting corporate to get a refund!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was nice and clean the lobby and hallways are out dated and had a smell
Staff was friendly
I did not see the complimentary breakfast that was advertised
It is also not called the Tilton inn and suites it’s the Econ lodge in and suites
- Samantha (6/5): - Good price
But was outdated
- Renee (10/5): - Quaint and quiet.
- Kenneth (8/5): - It was reasonable priced
- Angela (2/5): - Check in was easy and the girl on duty was pleasant. I asked where the breakfast room was and she pointed out the direction. We were on the 1sst floor, and I entered the room from the outside. It was clean, nothing fancy. The next morning I went to find the breakfast room and left our room thought the back door that led i to the hall, there was an awful stench, the breakfast room was dark, and no one at the frontt desk. Around 8 am the lights in the breakfast room were on and a pot of coffe was brewing. No breakfast, no bell at the front desk. Again, the next day there was no one to be found and about 8am there was coffee made. I knocked several ties on a door near the front desk (again no staff person at the front desk and the light was out). A woman opened the door and said they dont provide breakfast. IThere was a sign stating breakfast was 7-10 on the wall. The smell in the halls was worse and was noticeable in the mmain lobby. Fortunately the room we stayed in didn't have the smell.
