Guest Reviews
- Mo (6/5): - Convenient, breakfast good, need to wash shower curtain, otherwise all ok
- Petra (10/5): - Property was very clean with little toiletries. Free breakfast included Subway sandwich and coffee from Greggs which was a really nice surprise:)
- PAUL (8/5): - Just stopping for one night as visiting relatives.
Perfect for this purpose.
Bed was comfortable, parking right by, and convenient to get to.
Good value for money and will use again.
- Surinder (8/5): - Clean room with adequate facilities but wasn’t clear in the email exactly where to check-in.
- Marie (4/5): - You collect keys from the petrol station and the rooms are located behind the subway. There are no signs to tell you this beforehand. Stayed in room 6. Someone had removed the smoke detectors before we arrived, the bathroom stank of weed presumably from one of the other rooms but it was constantly there. The shower was either boiling or freezing, temperature controls did nothing unless you changed it to the cold setting. The shower door wouldn't close and the drain didn't work properly causing it to flood. Breakfast was supplied but it was a sandwich and drink from subway.
Otherwise it was clean, coffee was provided, the room temperature was fine and the beds were comfy. We stayed for 4 nights, the room wasn't serviced once but I imagine if I'd gone over to the petrol station to ask they would have done it.
- Michelle (2/5): - Awful stay. Not told that you need to go into the petrol station to get your key. The room was dirty coffe stain on the wall. Mouldy shower curtain. Filthy shower Matt. Dirty walls in the bathroom. If I wasn’t staying for works I would have gone home.
- Sarah (8/5): - All good apart from the lack of information about how the set up works (could this be eg a poster in the room?) and the unhealthy breakfast options. Otherwise great.
- Sarah (6/5): - Clearer instructions around check in would have been appreciated- we had to collect the key from the Londis garage on site. That said, when I phoned and left a voicemail checking how we got into our room, they called back straight away.
The room was basic but clean.
- Giles (4/5): Basic but OK for a Very Quick Stay - It was fine for what it needed to be. I was only there for 6.5 hours on a stop off to sleep on my way to Southampton.
Its conveniently located just off the A35 and there is plenty of parking, the bed was comfy.
However - it was so unclear how i actually got in - first i coildnt even find the enterance - it was late at night but eventually i found it behind the Subway store there, then because theres no reception i assumed i wouldnt be able to get in as it was late at night, so i took a punt and walked over the fourcourt to the petrol garage and spoke to the man at nighpay - turns out thats were you go to check in - he handed me the key.
Room was fine, basic but comfy enough, bathroom was old and in need of a real deep clean and some fresh paint but overall it was fine for what i needed it for. I did pay £80 for my room which I would say is aboit £20 too much but i guess you pay for the convenience… that being said it has nothing on a wyndham or any of the ither motorway service hotels ive stayed in.
- Godfrey (8/5): - Clean /tidy ideal for stop over .convenient stores near by
- Iwona (2/5): - The room number 5 stinks to a point that I wasnt able to sleep. It is a strong chemical smell that i believe is supposed to mask mould stench. Additionally, there are only two small windows available in the room both facing frnced bin area, only one of which opens - opening the window did not make any difference on the smell. The shower onky runs cold or scorching hot water. The entire place is overly priced and extremely outdated.
- Matt (4/5): Ropey but did the job - Behind a Subway, for those that may stay there FYI “check in” is in the petrol station opposite.
It’s sparse, pretty run down and in a less than ideal place. But I slept okay, sheets were clean, a couple of the towels could’ve done with a bit of Vanish in the wash.
No idea about “breakfast”
- John (6/5): - It was alright for one overnight stop but the breakfast was a very limited at the Subway.
- Gordon (4/5): - I have stayed at this property in the past as it’s close to a location I visit once or twice a year, whist it’s always been basic the staff have been helpful, plus there was a full breakfast menu available.
On this occasion it was difficult to get any clear information from the staff as to the breakfast offer. This turned out to be a Sub from the subway franchise!
In the past I have accepted the basic nature of the offering for the convenience of the location, but given the current nature of the offer, I am unlikely to visit again and could not recommend it as somewhere to stay.
- Mark (6/5): - Stay was well priced with breakfast included, although the rooms could do with a refurb throughout.
Needs a curtain in the bathroom for privacy .
Staff were friendly and helpful
- Reg (6/5): - It was OK for a one night stop over
- John (6/5): Emergency accommodation - The room was adequate bed reasonably comfortable bathroom clean heating okay it served our purpose as we had an emergency at home and couldn't stay at home for two nights
- Daniel (6/5): - Room was ok bathroom was damp
