Guest Reviews
- Michelangelo (10/5): - Clean and great host
- WILLIAM (2/5): Horrible, awful hotel experience - This was the absolute worst hotel and or travel that I have ever had. The New World Guest House, (NWGH) is located in a high rise building in Hong Kong, which is not unusual for Hong Kong. On the ground level of this building there are numerous dirty, dimly lit, grimy shops decorated with very unsavory looking characters. The elevator to the NWGH is located at the back of the building, it took a while to find the correct elevator bank. Then we went to the floor, got off of the elevator and had to turn on the lights on our phones to see anything. There were two doors, right and left sides. So the area outside of the elevators is a narrow hallway approximately 6 feet wide and 8 feet long with a door on each side. The solid wood doors on either side have signs that are hand written and barely legible, and a walkie talkie like phone. I rang the door bell on the right side of the elevator, no response, so I rang again. A half dressed man wearing boxer shorts angrily spoke to me in Cantonese, letting me know in no uncertain terms that I woke him from his slumber and that I should read the sign more carefully as this was the wrong door. Going to the door on the left side of the elevator, I called the number listed on the door and a man answered, and said that I should call him back in a few minutes. A very nice janitor man came out of the elevator and ask if he could assist us. We explained our situation and he said that the NWGH is not good. We left, went to Holiday Inn
