Guest Reviews
- Deborah (8/5): - Room was clean , bed was comfortable and restaurant was fine
- Brandon (8/5): - Pet friendly, friendly staff, comfortable. A bit dated but did the trick for a road trip stop over.
- Becky (8/5): - It’s ok to stay.
- Sheila (6/5): - Property was easy to get to. Bed was comfortable and relatively quite. Had a musty smell to the room. It is an old and tired place. Needs a face lift.
- Gary (8/5): - Nice property
- Michel (2/5): - Not sure if I can back the carpet or not very clean and I stink in the room sorry about that. Hopefully it hope you will do some thing about that thank you for asking . Hope it will be better soon thanks again
- Dwayne (8/5): - Beds comfortable. No breakfast. Overall would stay here again
- Steve (8/5): - The staff were excellent but hotel is older and could use some more cleaning.
- Wesley (10/5): - Nice place for a overnight stay.
- Liv (4/5): - This place smelt like wet towels throughout the entire room. Drain flys everywhere, and some weird stains on the bed frame…. Staff at the front was kind, but the cleanliness needs lots of work.
- Meredith (8/5): - Great stay!
- Warren (10/5): Nice place. - Nice little inn. No complaints. Stayed for the night passing through. Would stay again.
- petra (4/5): - Evening staff attendee was very dismissive when letting him know the air conditioner wasn’t working he checked 3 times pushed buttons and said there fixed. it stopped working immediately t was so humid and the must uncomfortable night sleep with 4 people in the room,
- Deirdre (10/5): - Very straightforward and with a restaurant and bar attached, easy to get food and refreshments.
- Casey (2/5): - When we got there at 8:00 p.m. to check in, they told me that they already sold my rooms because they didn't think we were coming. So we canceled the request and I had to book direct and could only get two rooms. The room itself was beat up, this hotel is in shambles. It is not in great shape and the grounds are very dirty
- Carol (10/5): - We enjoyed seeing the local bear. Warnings were posted.
- Alysson (6/5): - Beds were confortable
- Michael (8/5): - Good hotel. Breakfast was good in attached cafe
- Andrew (8/5): - It was what we needed for our one night stay.
- Seonaid (6/5): - Expensive for what was provided.
- Dale (8/5): - The onsite restaurant was a little expensive, asking more than $10 for small basket of sweet potato fries, $15.99 for a 6 PC shrimp cocktail. At least a KFC was across the road and McDonald's was also a 1 minute walk.
- Andre (6/5): - Nothing to write home about, very over priced for what you get
- Barry (10/5): - Very nice clean and modern
- Jason (8/5): - Good stay. I will be back!
- Jason (10/5): - Everything is not upgraded? Carpets are the same 20 years ago. Needs an upgrade to get five star rating. Otherwise it’s average.
- Michel (4/5): - Old & stinky rooms
- Inga (10/5): - We had a great experience staying at this hotel. Very clean, all necessary items that make your stay comfortable and enjoyable were offered. We’ll get back, definitely!
- Noel (4/5): - Very Old property,Uncomfortable beds
- Sil (4/5): - There wasn't anything we liked. The place was run down and noisy.
- Troi (4/5): - It was ok. The AC unit smelled musty, and that’s because it was absolutely filthy. The light fixture above the tub wasn’t properly attached or sealed. The room didn’t have toiletries supplied. The door would get stuck open and you’d have to make sure you’ve yanked it shut. For $190/night these issues shouldn’t exist. However, the bedding and floor were clean and the room smelled decent (aside from the mildew smell from the AC)
The food from the restaurant is bland and tasteless and far too expensive. I had the fettuccine Alfredo with garlic shrimp and it tasted like cardboard and that was $42!
All in all it was alright, but definitely could be WAY better
- Igor (6/5): - Smell in the hallway was sort of fried herring, whereas is the hotel room it was smelling like somebody died and kept for a while.
- Richard (4/5): - On cheerily arriving I found the front desk was snippy, impatient, unhelpful. The room reeked of Pinesol strong enough to induce a headache that lasted all night. The carpeting was gross and damp. We’ve been travelling across country and have stayed in 14 hotels. This was the only one I just wanted to get away from.
Let this titanic sink already.
- bill (8/5): - I recently spent a weekend at Sunset Inn Kenora and wanted to share my experience. When I walked into my room, the first thing I noticed was how clean and well-maintained everything felt especially the beds, which were comfortable, room had a microwave and mini-fridge. The hallway carpets did look a bit worn, and the air-conditioning units have definitely outdated.
A short stroll from the hotel is a KFC or McDonald’s if you’re in a hurry, and you’ve also got Tim Hortons, A&W, and even a local chip truck if you want something different.
I tried dinner at The Forest Room Restaurant. The menu ranges from juicy burgers to fresh salads, and I appreciated the friendly staff who seemed genuinely happy to recommend their favourites Later, I popped into the Capricorn Lounge for a cold, locally brewed beer t’s a cozy spot that was perfect for winding down.
A few things to keep in mind: the indoor pool area (including the hot tub) looked like it could use some TLC.
I heard from other guests that it’s occasionally not as clean as you’d hope.
- Lianne (6/5): - The staff who checked us in was not friendly
- antony (10/5): - Comfortable stay
- Chris (6/5): - A little tired and needs some upgrading. Toilet was not working properly in Room 220.
- Paul (8/5): - Great room, comfortable beds, nice shower, overall it was a pleasant stay. Would definitely recommend this place.
- Robert (6/5): - Bathroom sink was plugged. Room was not overly clean
- Lesleigh (4/5): Disappointed - Very noisy including someone banging on our door at 1:45 am.
- Charlotte (8/5): - good location
- Joe (8/5): - A
