- Keith (2/5): - I was deeply disappointed and upset to discover that the 9 Barracks Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa, prohibits guests from visiting my room after 8pm. Before making my reservation, I carefully reviewed the house rules and terms and conditions, yet there was no mention of this restriction. Had I known, I certainly would not have booked. As a 61-year-old traveler, I was looking forward to spending quality time with my girlfriend, who lives in Cape Town, but I was not allowed to have her stay in the room I paid for. When I raised the issue, the receptionist simply cited the house rules and refused to contact management to discuss a refund. Consequently, I chose to book a more guest-friendly hotel elsewhere. I strongly believe that this guest policy should be clearly stated in the terms and conditions to avoid such situations. I feel completely misled and will neither return to nor recommend this hotel to anyone traveling with a partner.
