Guest Reviews
- Jamie (8/5): - Property was clean. Beds are really soft, which is both good and bad.
everything in town is closed on Sunday except for Fossils stuff.
The rooms have everything that you need, the shower left a little to be desired, but it was a working shower. Really did enjoy the little Dove soaps. 💜
When we got to the property the woman at the front desk charged us $50 for a pet fee and then put another $200 on a card as a pet deposit.
I previously have read reviews where this has happened to other guests and they never got their 200 back so I gave her a card that I then immediately froze so she couldn't overcharge me too. This has been a running issue with I'd say 70% of all hotels I have been staying in. Constantly nickeling and diming, adding extra fees and then not returning funds and then telling you it'll be 7 to 10 business days in hopes that you forget that they overcharged you.
There are a little bit of safety concerns as all of the windows in my unit were open including two in the back, and I think I'm really that I didn't know were open until hours later. I don't know how often they change the code for the key locks outside of the units, also smoke detector that was beeping as the batteries were dying was left outside of another unit. It was left outside for multiple hours beeping until I pointed it out to staff and then they still didn't go directly to it.
- Chris (10/5): - Yes
- Colleen Sue (8/5): - Nice, quiet motel. Refrigerator and Microwave were appreciated. Really need to have an ice machine on site.
- Brian (8/5): Pleasant affordable accommodation in Kemmerer - Room spacious, comfortable and clean. Friendly check-in. We stayed there on Sunday night and it was difficult to find a restaurant open for dinner. Very convenient for Fossil Butte NM.
- Kevin (10/5): - A great place to stop on the way to Grand Teton and Yellowstone. Very clean rooms, friendly staff, and convenient location. Perfect for a comfortable overnight stay.
- Steven (10/5): Clean, well worth price - Very clean. Recently renovated. Surprisingly quiet.
- Joseph Keith (10/5): Very nice place with friendly guests - I stayed here last year, and the service was very good. Same this year. No breakfast, but for the price this place is friendly, clean, and has a very good location.
- Robert (6/5): OK for a night- maybe not for T-Mobile users - Hard to rate stars comparing this to a five-star Four Seasons. Old property has had updates, it was clean and decent. I was comfortable and felt safe. Not particularly soundproof, but other than hearing one loud phone conversation from neighbor, it was quiet. Being a DIY-er, I could spend a couple days and several trips to the hardware store fixing stuff, but most things worked well enough for me. I would stay again if I needed to, but...
This is not a fault of the motel, but check-in was a challenge. The office was closed upon my 4 PM arrival, only a note on the door to call for access. I have T-Mobile phone service. There is no T-Mobile signal in Kemmerer. I had to drive about three miles back on Highway 30 to find a weak signal to make the call. The person answering explained the staff person had been injured, so no personal service. He gave me my room number and door code, so I finally got in about 5 PM. He said I would find the WiFi code on a plaque in the room. There was no plaque, and I didn't recall the code he recited. Luckily, another lodger drove up and knew the code.
Other than that hassle, I slept well.
- Susan (6/5): - Room clean. Bed ok. Surrounding area rundown. Several good places to eat near by.
- Dianna (10/5): Fossil trip - Friendly staff!! She was so helpful. Rooms were very clean. Perfect stopover for our fossil hunting trip. We would stay here again.
- Jane (10/5): - Great place to crash for a night on a cross-country drive.
- Steve (10/5): Great stay you should consider. - Excellent hotel. Good value for the stay. Hotel is no frills bit provided a clean, safe environment. Staff very courteous and helpful. Recommend stay at this hotel. Namesake with the local National Monument.
- Jessica (6/5): Room 11 needs a new security lock - The room / bed / shower were great however the door lock was faulty and made sleeping a bit uncomfortable. We moved a chair in front of the door but didn’t feel like we could fully relax to sleep deeply.
We checked in after hours and got our door code over the phone - we actually didn’t see any staff at all as we left early the next day. That process couldn’t have been any easier. Other than the security lock it was a great stay.
- Terry (10/5): - Clean, good amenities, great staff
- Kathryn (6/5): Check pet friendly rules - Just passing through and booked a room last minute because it was a pet friendly place. Arrived to find out there are pet friendly rooms. Being a motel with 14 rooms, my room was not "pet friendly". Had to pay $50 shampoo fee. This was not clear on website.
- Lars (8/5): contemporary room design - With the standard fare of hotel room decor at other places, the contemporary design certainly stands out to give a fresh look. Plenty of space to spread out my stuff during the stay.
Like many other places, the bathroom door would block some of the bathroom area, including the roll with the toilet
- Gregory (8/5): - Good location
- Daryl (8/5): Fossil Butte - "When we got to the hotel, the front desk staff was in the middle of cleaning rooms, but she greeted us with a big smile and was more than happy to help us check in right away."
- Gregory and Teresa (10/5): Nice place - Nice clean, updated room. Nice amenities. Easy check in when office is closed. Will stay here again!
- Margaret (10/5): - All great and friendly staff
- Hal (8/5): - Staff were nice. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. No ice machine, so bring your own. Walls are paper thin. Our next door neighbor woke us up at 01:30 talking on the phone or to himself for about half an hour.
- Dan (10/5): - Good value
- James (2/5): - This is one star hotel masquerading as a three-star hotel and charging the prices of a four.
Scroll through all the pictures on this site the very last picture is closer to what you're going to receive.
The first pictures are nice looks like it's been recently upgraded, the reality is not all of the rooms have been recently upgraded.
We also found an old pizza in the fridge.
We were charged more on site then we were when we made the booking online.
For the price we were charged there should have at least been a Continental breakfast, a pool, laminate floors instead of stained carpet and a clean shower
- Verified traveler (8/5): All we needed - Room was clean and beds were comfy - all we really needed for a quick one-night stay as we were passing through the area. Staff was friendly. No complaints.
- Scott (8/5): - Quiet and clean, a very pleasant stay for an older, lower priced motel.
- Jack (10/5): - Small and old hotel that has been recently renovated. Wasn't perfect, but it was well stocked with soap, shampoo, clean towels, TP, etc. Beds were clean. Management was friendly. No breakfast at this motel, but we knew that at booking. Parking was adequate. For some reason hotels in Kemmerer are all rather expensive.
- Kathleen (4/5): - Was not pleased with the assistance received from staff or housekeeping
- Margaret (8/5): - Good badic clean motel room. No frills which was fine. Could have used an ice machine.
- Tony (10/5): - Comfortable, clean, quiet and well maintained.
