Guest Reviews
- Elsa (4/5): - Simple but close to the university
- Tim (2/5): - Basically no breakfast. Bananas and horrible muffins
- Heidi (2/5): - There were German roaches. The bathroom was not clean.
- Carolyn (2/5): - Dirty, run down, uncomfortable, water pressure issues, leaking faucets, pool closed, bugs in bathroom
- KATIE (2/5): - Mini fridge in room didn’t work. Property outside seemed unsafe and several parts of building were leaking. Our door entry card kept not working so had to repeatedly walk to front desk in the dark to have them reset room card key. Bedding was old and out dated. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone to stay here no matter the circumstances.
- Stephen (4/5): - Went for parents weekend and the Gator/USF game. Was woken up by a roach crawling on my arm and have all sorts of bites on my abdomen. Light over shower did not work. Convenient location but would not recommend.
- Kristina (2/5): - I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at this property. The room was in very poor condition. The carpet and vanity were stained, the entire space smelled of smoke, and the mattress was still in a plastic bag as if it had just come from a store. The neighboring room had cats sitting in the window and even a doormat outside, which made the hotel feel more like a long-term residence than a guest-friendly environment. Additionally, the courtyard resembled a construction zone and looked as though part of a building had experienced a roof collapse. None of this reflects what was promised in the listing or what I expected when booking. This room should not be offered at the price it was listed. Expedia should either remove this property from its inventory or drastically reduce the rate to reflect the actual condition.
- Paulette (2/5): Beware - No working pool was not informed of that found several cockroaches in the room. Lennon was not fresh and clean. The sitting chair had springs, broken and sticking out of the back mole in the bathroom sink would’ve liked a Keurig with cake cups I would not stay there again.
- Julene (6/5): OK Stay - Gainesville can be expensive on football weekends and school event weekends. This stay was during college move in. We over paid for a very low quality stay. Holes in the black out curtains but other than that room was clean and in pretty good shape. Customer service was lacking at check in. Did not feel welcomed. Pool was closed. Breakfast was very limited and basic. It was in a good location, close to campus and great Korean food across the street. It was an OK stay. Keep your expectations low and you will be fine.
- NOEL ANTONIO (8/5): - Great location need bettter cleaning
- Orlando (10/5): - Definitely the hotel need an updates
- Lindsey (4/5): - Poor breakfast (no options). Pool was advertised but broken. Sheets were rough texture wise
- Andrew (2/5): - There were cigarette burns around the bathroom sink and toilet seat. The room smelled like cigarettes. Neither of the bedside lamps worked
- Walter (4/5): - Not very clean. Pool area was fine. AC systems not very effective.
- MELINDA (2/5): - The rooms were absolutely filthy and smelled like pot. Grounds are dirty and pool isnt working. We refused to stay here.
- JONES F (2/5): Very poor choice - The hotel was very disappointing. Rooms and common areas had a strong moldy smell, and the bed linens were old, torn, and poorly maintained. The room also smelled of cigarette and marijuana smoke, and the bed was uncomfortable. Cleanliness was lacking from the reception onward. Unfortunately, it was a very poor choice of accommodation.
- Andrea (6/5): - The room got the job done. It was close to UF for mine in weekend. But it was outdated. The ventilation made it so I could smell the neighbors shower products and their weed.
- Nancy (8/5): - Great location but facility beeds better cleaning.
- allison (6/5): Not too bad - It was a comfortable setting. There were some roaches but I was only there two nights so I just sprayed and cleaned myself.
- Christopher (6/5): - Price is affordable so close to University of Florida.
Beds are very comfortable. No clocks in rooms. Free breakfast is just individual wrap sticky buns or small cinnamon rolls. Faint marijuana smell in rooms which is unfortunate. Staff is very nice and helpful.
- Daisy (6/5): - It was ok for the price.
- Lucas (4/5): - It was clean, the front office staff were friendly. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The rooms are all supposedly non-smoking, but my room reeked of tobacco smoke. The TV and remote did not work properly, it would only turn on/off and change volume. I hope you like Bravo, it's the only channel you get to watch. The bathroom was functional but in rough shape. There is very little sound insulation between rooms. It sounded like the people above me were playing hopscotch all night long.
- Paul (6/5): - 1st, I like old hotels. The hotel was built in the 50's and apparently was the "spot" with a night club and restaurant. I think it could be that again with some investment and attention to detail. It presents as tired, relatively clean, it looks like DIY when they last painted and updated the rooms and lobby. Suggest a person go through all the rooms with a razor blade to tidy the paint jobs. Rusty door hinges and banged up door frames. Need door seeps to keep the critters out from the entry door. The pool was out of order, bummer but reasonable understandable! Drainage for the monsoon storm we had created a curtain of water to the parking lot. Easy fix with a covered pergola over the sidewalks leading to the lots. The bed was comfortable but on a metal platform that made a noise when you rolled over sounding like an old furnace with the metal expanding. Rething the dated chair, its too low. A/C was excellent, staff are helpful. I'd like to see this old lady shine again.
- Henry (2/5): - Bed bugs and cockroach
- Andrea (6/5): - The only good thing was friendly lady who helped with registration. The lobby and room smelled of old dingy building. The ac barely cooled and the shower was difficult to get working. It was either freezing or burning hot. The beds were hard as rocks. It was very inexpensive so I just chalked it up to you get what you pay for. Oh yeah the pool was closed as well. I was glad to leave.
- Mirko (8/5): - Good value for the money
- Ashley (10/5): - Its a cheap and very hot morning shower before my shands appointments, always quiet and pleasant
- ALEXA (2/5): - Jamás se recibió el servicio! Maltrató! Xebofobicos y racistas
- Caryn (4/5): - Not going back
- Mary (8/5): - The room was clean and the beds comfortable. Surrounding were dated but looks like they are trying to improve. Staff was nice and helpful.
- Michael (2/5): - The beds were good and the AC was cold. But the mat of dust on the TV, the hair in the shower and the cockroach INFESTATION was hard to get over. We stopped killing cockroaches after about the 15th kill. The breakfast was Little Debbie donuts and rancid OJ. I didn’t have the heart to try the apple juice. It’s a cool property with SO much historical potential. It’s just being neglected.
