Guest Reviews
- Sara (10/5): - Brakfast was only on Saturday and Sunday but that was good for us. And the view of the water was nice behind room. The only thing that could have mad this stay better was a table in the room and one more pillow on the bed. Other then that we would definitely consider staying her again!
- Liyan (10/5): - Breakfast is great!!! And the brook at the back is so wonderful!!
- Matthew (10/5): - The local owners have done a remarkable job brining this motel back to life! Cozy stay that's close enough to the Parkway to not have to fight traffic, but distant enough to enjoy a slower pace. Some great restaurants just across the street as well! We can't wait to go back!!!
- Misty (10/5): - The made to order breakfast is best thing about this place. Everything else was fine, too - comfortable bed, clean, etc. But the breakfast alone makes it 5 stars.
- Nicholas (8/5): - Clean room! Wonderful staff! Amazing weekend breakfast!! My only suggestion is coffee makers in the rooms.
- Trista (10/5): - The place was beautiful, clean and in a great location. The staff was super friendly, had great suggestions for local food and were all around amazing. Parking is plentiful and not hard to navigate at all. Would definitely stay here again!
- Paul (8/5): - Good & Good
- Linda (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean but we had a hard time with the shower. The hot water would stop mid shower cause a blast of ice cold water to occur. While invigorating it was uncomfortable. We never could keep any hot water longer than a minute or two.
- Richard (8/5): - The room was very clean and comfortable the hotel advertised free breakfast included but when we got there the staff said breakfast only on weekends was not happy about that one of the reasons along with great rates I book my reservation there
- Robin (8/5): - Good location, clean room, nice staff.
- Johanna (6/5): Kinda noisy - The place was clean, service was nice, loved having access to the steam. But it is noisy, very thin walls, lol. Could hear all the traffic and everyone coming and going and talking next door. The breakfast was pretty neat, made to order.
- Kathy (6/5): - The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. No table or chairs to sit at and bathroom was small.
- Kathryn (10/5): - The motel was off of the downtown main street which was perfect. Close enough to go downtown if you wanted but far enough that it was very quiet. The stream running behind he motel was very pleasant to listen to. The rooms are newly renovated with a rustic them. The fresh made breakfast was very good but it is only offered on the weekend. I would definitely stay again.
- Michael (8/5): - The place is good place to stay for a weekend only thing i could see that they can change is no hair dryer and no dresser. The staff was amazing
- Karen (10/5): - I liked the creek running behind and having a back door to look out. We also got to see bear.
- Janet (10/5): - I loved the little bubbling stream out the back door. It was an unexpected surprise and a relaxing way to end a busy day. I would book there again and recommend to others.
- Ashley (10/5): Great all around! - This little motel was so clean and cozy. The balcony overlooking the creek was small but enough to enjoy the sound of the creek rolling in the back. My husband and I got a small trip away from our kids this weekend.
It was so peaceful and our room was adorable and efficient. Beds were extremely comfortable I must add too!
Our entire stay was great from check in to check out. The staff was absolutely amazing overall, and the chef who made our breakfast to order this morning needs a huge shout out as well! Breakfast was so good and fresh! All for the reasonable price this place was absolutely amazing.
- Russell (10/5): - Great place! Nice, neat, very clean and friendly staff! Highly recommend!
- Tricia (10/5): - I loved the balcony with a view of the creek and the staff was so very friendly and welcoming. The bathroom was very small but clean and that was most important.
- Tara (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay.
- Lacey (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and the rooms were very clean and you could tell they had been renovated!
- Andrew (10/5): - Best place to stay. Already planning another stay.
- Kelli (10/5): - We stayed at Sleep Bear Motel for a long weekend. The staff is amazing, the room was clean, very cozy and the beds were wonderful. The large tv was so nice. We had a fridge and microwave. The pool is so nice however it was too cool to use. The back balcony overlooks the brook. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit!
- Mary (10/5): - Everyone was nice but it could have been a little cleaner
- Linda (10/5): - A homemade breakfast, with several options.
- azalea (10/5): - Friendly staff with clean and air conditioned rooms!
- Dale (6/5): - Location
- Joshua (10/5): - Small balcony facing the river and woods was relaxing. The guys at the counter were very informative about food and attractions in the area.
- lisa (8/5): - This motel is a gem. It's exactly as described online. Rooms were spotless. Great location just before the craziness of Gatlinburg. Located on the trolley route. Restaurants, Ice Cream, and Mini-Mart within walking distance. Really enjoyed balcony overlooking stream. Helpful suggestions for room convenience:
Coffee maker, luggage rack, and bed side lamps.
- Lisa (8/5): - Nice affordable place to stay. It's older and you use an actual key. It's clean and comfortable. The breakfast is great. It's hot and made fresh. Only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't an iron in the room.
- Brenda (10/5): - The gentleman that was making home made breakfast to order.
The ge tal man that checked us in went above and beyond in helping
- daniel (10/5): - The only reason i gave a 4 star review for the property, they are remolding EVERYTHING, and its not all done yet. I believe this little is just about perfect, made even better with balcony over looking the brook!! If you want a slice of nostalgia for the good old days of family road trips and the road side motels, this is the place!!!!
- Frances (10/5): - Sleepy Bear was exactly what we were looking for. It was a short distance from everything to do in Gatlinburg but still very convenient with a trolley stop across the street. The price was good and the room was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the free breakfast on Sat and Sun mornings. We would definitely stay here again.
- Mariane (10/5): Great remodeled hotel! - Hotel was great! Location was perfect for me as I did not want to be in the mist of the mess. There were plenty of good places to eat around (BBQ, Thai). Rooms have been remodeled recently and they were nice! I had chairs on the balcony overlooking the stream (not the best view), just remember to use bug repellent if you sit out there any time of the day. Front desk people were super friendly and super nice. Plenty of parking.
- Antonio (10/5): - The breakfast was amazing, Tony the cook is the best …. Burritos mmm mmm yummy !!!
Thanks EVERYBODY WAS AMAZING
1000% good it’s 5 star !!!
- Linda (10/5): - Sleepy Bear was amazing ! The manager and staff was friendly. The rooms and property was clean and well taking care of ….. You won’t just rent a room here you will be welcomed and feel at home .
- Ashley (10/5): - Where do i start? Such a simple, easy, no-fus stay! i cannot brag more about the free, made to order breakfast; truly amazing! The private back porch, overlooking a beautiful, oeaceful creek! The staff is so friendly, and kind! I will be returning to this hotel every single time i come to gatlinburg from now on!!! 15 out of 10!!
- Leslie (10/5): - This motel is the hidden gem of the Smokies! Super clean and the staff was excellent and treated you like family from Tonya at the front desk that was super nice to the chef that made us breakfast Tony he was awesome to the guy who checked is out. We will definitely be back as soon as possible!
- Berti (10/5): - This an older property but they did an excellent job in the remodel. The rooms were quiet and the back porch was peaceful. It is close to trolley to take you into Gatlinburg. The breakfast was excellent. I highly recommend staying here.
- Diane (10/5): Clean comfortable affordable. - We made a last minute decision to visit Gatlinburg. I checked Hotels.com for a reasonable room. This hotel had a good rating so we went for it. Mind you, it's not fancy, no coffee maker, hair dryer or iron, but it was clean, bed was very comfortable and the area was quiet We were able to sit on the deck overlooking a creek.. We will use this location again. The gentleman at the desk was friendly, helpful and spoke English. If you are looking for a place to retire for the evening with no fancy perks, this is the place.
- Dikshya (8/5): - Breakfast was really good. Friendly employees
- Traci (10/5): Outstanding Experience! - Outstanding stay! Although an older motel, it is well kept and exceptionally clean. The cleanest place we’ve stayed in years! The motel is family owned and everyone we encountered were professional and friendly. It was my wedding weekend and although we rented a cabin, we reserved 4 rooms for our adult children and their kids. They loved it. Tony, the chef that prepares breakfast is 5 star!!!! The breakfast had a lot of options cooked to order, with real eggs, not powdered eggs! We will make this our new place to stay each time we visit Gatlinburg, and our adult children will as well. Thank you for providing a great experience!
- Eva (10/5): - The place is nice and very clean. Nice rooms and beds. The breakfast is delicious and is cooked fresh. The staff very friendly and attentive.
- kenneth (10/5): - Great staff. Great breakfast, clean rooms
- Evelyn (8/5): - Although it is a motel I is clean and without smoking smell. THE BACK OF THE ROOMS show a calm creek. Breakfast was made to order, good and warm
- Traci (10/5): Outstanding Experience All Around! - Absolutely amazing experience! It’s an older motel, but cleaner than any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It is family owned, which makes it even better. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Tony, the chef, is 5 star! Breakfast was fabulous! The balcony overlooking the creek was beautiful and peaceful. I was here for my wedding and rented 4 rooms for our adult children. Everyone had a great experience all around! We will definitely stay here the next time we visit Gatlinburg!
- Kelly (10/5): - I was pleasantly surprised how clean and nice the motel was. The staff was extremely friendly and the cook was nice and cooked us a great breakfast our whole stay. Loved the stream out our balcony.
- Neil (10/5): Great clean room - It was a great surprise to have a balcony off the back of our room over a mountain stream! Our room was very clean and newly renovated. It had two chairs, a very comfortable bed, and we really enjoyed the two nights we stayed there. We'll be back.
- Jennifer (10/5): Odd and old smell but,... - Wonderful staff. Wonderful chef. Nice and clean room. Did have an "old" smell to it. And it followed me home. But, I would definitely stay again.
- Amanda (10/5): - Came to town for our wedding. We booked this hotel and stayed one night and our adult children stayed 2. The beds were very comfortable and the tv was big and seemed new. The kids said breakfast was delicious! The pool was clean and well maintained. Balcony by the creek was super cute. We will stay again!!
- Kelly (10/5): Hidden Gem - The location was great and close to Gatlinburg strip attractions. The room was clean, no odor, very spacious. No issues whatsoever during our stay. Now the free breakfast on the weekends ….. OMG!!! It was delicious, best motel breakfast I’ve had! Hats off to the chef, he took orders and made them quickly. My girls and I were very happy and we will def stay there again!
- Tommie (4/5): - Old and small bathroom. Poor water pressure. Very quiet at night.
- Joseph (10/5): - The hotel room was clean and updated. The breakfast was awesome! The room had a nice view of the river and there was a trolly to take you downtown which was a good distance away. Hard to complain about anything. Cool little motel that has been recently renovated
- Zachary (6/5): - It was fine overall just wouldnt recommend if wanting to stay and walk the strip youll have to take a trolly
- Johnna C (10/5): - Great place to stay the night before hiking Mt. LeConte via Trillium Gap. Great made-to-order breakfast. Beautiful river view from balcony.
- Carolyn (10/5): - Support the local businesses. A WONDERFUL Mom& Pop motor hotel that has been refurbished to meet the needs of today’s travelers. Warm and welcoming, we were greeted and quickly checked in. Rooms are pristinely clean and have a generous amount of bathroom needs. Sundry supplies are good. Weekend offered a made to order delicious breakfast. Trolly stop to Gatlinburg downtown is directly across the street . Definitely a place I would return to.
- William (10/5): - Clean friendly staff
- Jennifer (10/5): - Excellent! Comfy beds. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Enjoyed coffee on the balcony overlooking the creek. Would stay here again.
- Angela (10/5): - Room was as described and on the water. We enjoyed the pool and the breakfast. Quiet area and a few restaurants across the street. We will be back again.
- Duane (10/5): - The experience was super, from phone contact before arrival to custom prepared breakfast and check out! Rate it 10/10
- Pamela (10/5): - I was skeptical but pleasantly surprised by this facility. It has been newly renovated. The beds are very soft and comfortable, I had no trouble sleeping. The carpet seems new. It was very clean. we had a balcony overlooking a stream, where we saw a bear one morning
- Jess (10/5): - Was very clean. Only thing that they needed was a small table or stand. We had to put our food on the bed and eat there. Was a very nice place to stay with a bubbling brook off the back balcony. Had a trolley stop right across the street to take us into downtown Gattlinburg so we didnt have to deal with the nightmare of driving there. Saw 2 black bears just running around. Would definitely stay here again.
- Nada (10/5): Peaceful stay! - Our room was very clean. You can tell they’ve been working on the place! The hot breakfast was made to order and delicious. I would say the beds were firm but still comfortable for us. The bathroom was a little small for a 6’4” guy, but it’s a renovated older motel, so I’m sure they’ve always been that size. Loved the balcony off the back to enjoy the peacefulness of the stream back there.
- Clarisse (10/5): - The motel was right by the park, near some of the best hiking spots. They let my partner and I keep our things in our room past checkout so that we could shower before dinner. The gentleman up front also looked at my hiking route to confirm it was safe and doable this time of year. Personalized, kind, attentive service. So appreciated!
- Donald (10/5): - The room was clean. The staff was friendly and professional highly recommend this property.
- Michael (10/5): - VERY clean. Easy check-in process, weekend breakfast was a bonus.
- Billee (10/5): - My family had a great overnight stay here. The room was clean and comfortable. Having a private balcony with a water view was a nice plus. Breakfast on Saturday morning was excellent and the outside eating areas are perfect. We will stay here again.
- Gerald (8/5): Pleasant stay - The room was recently painted and had been updated a bit. Very clean! The bed was very comfortable. It was a 30 minute walk to the strip, but there was a trolley pick up stop right across the street. There were three restaurants right there you could walk to in less than 5 minutes. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The stream behind the hotel was very peaceful. My only wish was for more counter top to put things when trying to get ready.
- Stephanie (10/5): - It was quite. The room was clean and the staff was great and friendly. My favorite part was sitting on the balcony listening to and watching the creek. So peaceful, just needed a rocking chair
- Yohann (8/5): - Nice room, confy bed, very gentle staff.
The area is outside on the city so you have to take the trolley.
- Leah (10/5): Great price! - Great place, great price! Conveniently located right near the main strip of Gatlinburg.
- Ann (10/5): - Sleepy Bear is a great little motel off the parkway in Gatlinburg. Everyone was so friendly, you could get a fresh, hot breakfast, and they'd keep the pool open for a late night swim. It's in a great location, near everything, and you can't beat the rate. The rooms were nice, clean, and had nice toiletries and plenty of towels. Would stay again!
- angela (8/5): - Our room was clean and had your basic necessities. Beds were very hard and I would bring your own pillow. We stayed in a 2 queen room and I would say it has enough
- Ariel (10/5): - Staff was great, room looked to be recently remodeled and had basic amenities. Best part was the food across the street and a beautiful balcony overlooking a peaceful stream. 10/10 for the price and location!
- Louis (10/5): Clean and Reasonable - The room and facilities were clean, the staff was professional, and the free breakfast (with real pancakes, eggs, and bacon cooked to order) was a plus. Nice balcony over a noisy creek. We have paid much more for a room in Gatlinburg that wasn't as nice. We would stay here again.
Le Conte Tapas and Grill across the street was excellent, with great service and a real bartender.
- Jacob (8/5): - Great customer service and breakfast.
- TAMMY (10/5): - Everything was clean. Still some things that need updated. Will stay again.
- Megan (10/5): - The balcony
- Allen (6/5): - We got in late & all the nearby stores were closed. So, no food or drinks available. Room was ok. Property was fairly clean but dated. Huge TV in the room; but, apparently, you had to subscribe to ROKU to watch it. They had a free breakfast & it was an actual breakfast. Bacon, eggs, and pancakes cooked to order. I walked in behind a family of four. I didn’t really have time to wait around, so I left without eating. It would have been nice if they had some 'grab & go" options.
- Vanessa (10/5): - Newly renovated rooms and convenient location to entertainment. Fresh breakfast was top notch! We'll be back.
- Joy (10/5): - Great room for a great price! Just what we were looking for and complimentary made to order breakfast was fantastic!
- Thomas (10/5): - This place is our new go to for Gatlinburg. Very convenient to downtown. Older hotel that has been meticulously renovated. Room was spacious and comfortable with new bed, huge(60") TV, overlooking creek. Balcony had good chairs to spend relaxing evening privately watching the creek. Pool was very nice, clean, and refreshing after a day hiking in the Smokies or walking around Gatlinburg. Breakfast was included. Tony cooked made to order breakfast that would have easily been $40 at a restaurant for two. We've stayed a lot of places in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and this is our new favorite.
- Chirag (10/5): - Ohh we love our room with scenery. The room was clean and warm. We loved morning breakfast specially made for us as we are vegetarian. Ample amount of parking spaces were available and we used Citi bus which was free and to and fro from hotel to downtown.
- Christina (10/5): - My family and i loved our stay here. Its a nice motel. Rooms recently renovated and we had a balcony over looking the river. Breakfast had good options and made to order. We come every year around my birthday and this will be our new go to.
- Amy (8/5): - Close to everything
- Susan (10/5): Fantastic Stay!! - The place is fabulous, creek right out the back door. The staff is so so nice and the breakfast is phenominal!!!! The cook is the nicest man also. Will definitely be coming back.
- Sara (10/5): - What a perfect spot to stay for a visit to the area. Friendly and clean and everything you would want or need!
- Hong hanh (10/5): - All the staff are so helpful and friendly in everyway
- Gabriela (10/5): - N/a
- Caleb (10/5): - These people are all 1-of-1. Excellent everything.
- Charles (10/5): - Great stay from check in to check out!
Everything was so clean and staff were extremely friendly!
- Donald (10/5): - The man behind the counter checking us in was great, giving advice for places to eat and things to do and joking around with us. Our party had three rooms and all of them were happy with the rooms. They had a made to order breakfast and it was great
- Chris (10/5): - Great place, would most definitely come back
- Patricia (10/5): - The owners were so friendly. If you don’t have to stay in the big hotel. This was a great place to stay. I will definitely let everyone know. It was cheap enough for your stay . All and all a great place to stay
- Carla (10/5): - Nostalgic! Very clean. Remodeled. Small family run. Just like the places I stayed as a kid! Trolley stops directly in front of hotel! And has a wonderful restaurant just across the street! No frills. Old school. Love it!
- Emily (10/5): - Great affordable stay. Comfy bed and spacious balcony overlooking the creek. We enjoyed that the breakfast was included and cooked to order. Friendly and professional staff. Close to all the action without being trapped in traffic when you leave. Would definitely stay again!
- Timothy (10/5): - I can't say enough good things about our stay at Sleepy Bear Motel! Property is a simple, family-owned, old-fashioned motel experience. Rooms were super clean, comfortable and complete with all the nessecities, as well as wif-fi and super cold A/C. Breakfast was made to order and served up every morning, and the hotel was very close to all the Gatlinburg attractions, but enough out of the way where you didn't have to fight lots of traffic coming and going. I honestly can't believe that we had such a great stay, given the affordable rates they offer. Highly recommend if you're looking for the best value with friendly service and clean accommodations while you explore the area!
- Shu-Ting (10/5): - Clean, nice free breakfast, nice water pressure in shower, can see fireflies on the balcony
- Samantha (10/5): - All new renovated rooms, huge tvs with HDMI cords for you to use your devices, stream behind hotel give a nice
- Tina (10/5): - Very clean quiet and comfortable. I highly recommend this motel
