Guest Reviews
- Jake (10/5): - Staff was very quick and knowledgeable
- Richard (8/5): - My wife and I enjoyed our stay. The selfie mirror was cool. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. The parking was convenient. The window view from our room wasn’t the greatest and the smell in the room was unpleasant, but we made it work and would stay there again.
- Janay (10/5): - Lovely hotel reallygood location near stores
- Douglas (8/5): - Positives: We were greeted by friendly employees upon arrival, and the check-in process was simple. Our room was clean and modern. We felt safe once inside the hotel. Negatives: Our room key only worked for a day, and we had to go to the front desk to get new keys daily. Each time we requested housekeeping services, we noted that we had three guests, but there were never three sets of linens put in our room. The ice machine and water dispenser were located in the basement, but the water dispenser did not work. However, small bottles of water were provided in the lobby. On check-out day, a man banged on our door fifteen minutes before check-out time and told us to check-out.
- EILEEN (10/5): - IF YOUR GOING TO THE BROX THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY!!! MY Daughter and I stayed here for one night to see the Yankees Game. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Check in was simple. Parking was easy and there were plenty of spots right front of the main entrance. When we received our room key we were told we were downstairs, I asked if we could have a room on the 1st or second fl no problem just like that we had a room on the second fl. We had 3 pieces of luggage all on the heavy side The gentleman behind the counter helped us carry them up to the second floor non the elevator. The room was clean the bed was so comfortable I slept in way past checkout time They allowed us to stay for a small fee. I wish all hotels did this!!!! My daughter and I walked to the stadium about a 15 min walk. The folks in the neighborhood were friendly and respectful. We used Uber on the way back because we were tired. I would definitely stay here again. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and sweet!!
- Jazmin (6/5): - This place, although they are trying to turn it around, is still a work in progress
- sophia (8/5): - We stayed here, it was our first time staying here and in the Bronx in general. It looked a bit sketchy, but honestly had no problems/trouble in terms of safety. Parking on the property was convenient and a big part of why we stayed. There was free coffee and tea offered almost all day/night which was nice. The front desk staff were not helpful, however the housekeeping staff were amazing and very friendly! For example, I asked the front desk for an iron for my clothes and said I needed it urgently. 30 minutes later, I went back to check-in and the front desk person said it was coming. I ran in to 3 different housekeeping staff right after and none of them knew what I was talking about, but proceeded to help get me what I needed immediately! This happened with other things but this was an example of the difference in staff. We needed an affordable, clean, safe place to stay and as far as our trip was concerned, we had exactly that! The walls/ common spaces weren't the best around but our room was very nice and clean. Overall, would stay here again if need be.
- William (6/5): - NO CLOSET. NO WORKING INTERNAL LOCK.
Not "luxury" by any stretch. Everything is old, tired, and poorly maintained. I intentionally didn’t look at the AC filter - guessing dirty and moldy. AC was barely adequate while "on full" for days in the seventies. Wouldn't be adequate on hot days.
Sink cracked, shower walls marked, but shower curtain new and plumbing worked.
Not business friendly. Only one chair, which is built for lounging, not desk work. I used it as a doorstop, wedging it under the door handle to replace the broken security lock.
No place to hang clothes - drawers only. No iron or ironing board in the room.
Bed was rounded on the edges; slept fine (in the middle) by myself.
Hotel is isolated. The Melrose train station does not service MTA. Found bus or ride service to the station at 161 street and Yankee Stadium to be the route that felt safest. Trains reached most of Manhattan in 30- 45 minutes.
Would I repeat? No. Did I make it work? Yes, and so can you. But as between pod hotels and here, I'd pick the pod. You get what you pay for.
- Cottrell (6/5): - Decent location
- Chris (2/5): - Hidden fees upon arrival and not advertised through Expedia. $50 early-check in fee, desk adamant you pay in cash, which was refused. Room had no internal lock to latch on the door. Room smelt of smoke, hotel warned of $500 smoking fee upon stay. Upon instantly checking out, the manager called me three days later, stating my items (suitcase and backpack) were still in the room and would be charged a removal fee. I never stayed a night, immediately left after the manager refused to offer a safer accommodation. This hotel has scan written all over it.
- SADOU (4/5): - Terrible
- Sarahi (10/5): - Everything was easy going and staff was extremely helpful and quick.
- Carl (10/5): - Check in with Loki was fast, parking on site was easy and convenient.
- Vincent (8/5): - I feel like they knock on your door before check out time is a bit annoying, but otherwise it’s great .
- Jachany (10/5): - Excelente
- John (6/5): - The room had been recently updated but the bathroom needs it. The neighborhood was a bit sketchybut that's the Bronx.
- tim (6/5): - The room was clean but the overall condition was rundown. The AC didn’t work, filter moldy and the room door didn’t lock from the inside for security. The one benefit was free parking.
- James (10/5): - Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable! Staff was helpful and friendly! We could walk to Yankee Stadium easily !
- Jason (10/5): - It was clean and within walking distance to Yankee Stadium
- Benjamin (4/5): - Limited parking, rooms not done, few dinning places, area quite messy
- Nadia (6/5): - Elevator was out or order. Room was on 3rd floor. Wasnt happy about walking up to room with several bags of luggage.
- Joseph (10/5): - Clean, quiet and the staff was professional, friendly and helpful
- Jorg (10/5): - The neighborhood is a bit rough and dirty. The staff was great. The supermarket around the corner was good.
- Wil (4/5): Don't stay here - There were no closets, no hanging rods not even a hook in the bathroom. So if you had dress clothes you just had to lay them out on top of the dresser. The holes and bathroom smelled like a combination of ammonia and mildew. And on the last day there was some kind of sewer eruption and the whole place smelled like raw sewage.
- Jose (8/5): - Stay was good only issue was i call the earlier to notify i will check in late and when i hit hotel at 8pm my room wasnt ready so had to wait 1/2 hour, but both indú siblings was nice and very respectfull also every room should hace coffee maker
- Shavana (10/5): - yes
- Stacey (10/5): - Having a parking lot after a long day was everything. Staff was super nice. In a quiet location. Hotel itself was quiet, can hear people in hallways due to no carpeting i think but it's worth it for the cleanliness peace of mind. Largest TV I've ever seen in my life, that was wild! Air conditioning worked extremely well. Shower was hot. Slept amazing. Fridge worked well. Great price. Perfect stay.
- Marcia (2/5): Felty hotel - Awful hotel. We were sent to a basement room right across from the laundry service area. The room had no ironing board, iron, or closet, and there was barely any floor space; the king bed took up most of the room. We had to open one suitcase on top of the mini-fridge and the other on a small sofa. The room felt dirty and unkempt.
The small window faced a large trash, and shipping containers which blocked any sunlight from coming in. The neighborhood felt unsafe, with visible drug use and distribution around the hotel. While parking is technically free, it’s often used by non-guests, forcing you to park illegally.
To make things worse, there was a rag stuffed into a hole under the sink—clearly a poor attempt at a repair. Overall, this was an unpleasant and uncomfortable stay; we left the next morning and booked another hotel closer to the court house. Stay far away from this place.
- Stefan (8/5): - Convenience to train station
- Kelsey (4/5): - First room we got smelled of cigarettes. Got another room. All was good until we realized the walls are paper thin and you can hear people next door as if they’re next to you. Elevator was out of service the whole time. When we asked they said it was getting fixed the next day … it never got fixed. Floors were caked in dirt and couldn’t walk around barefoot. Area was super sketchy and didn’t feel safe walking even during the day.
- Brenna (6/5): - The AC, elevator, and WiFi were all out-of-service. The shower was not cleaned before we visited (we could tell because there was a big wad of hair stuck to the wall.) The staff were nice about everything but we ended up checking out early and changing our train home because it was 80 degrees out and almost as warm in the room. The hotel is close to a bus line and was affordable.
- Nicholas (8/5): - Nice overall
- Emily (2/5): - While the rooms were clean. We did run in to an issue. Around 8pm a gentlemen who did not appear to be staff knocked on our door and told us he needed our room & we needed to leave bcs HE needs the one with the double bed. Extremely concerned I closed the door quickly, and my husband and I went down to talk to the front desk. We thought it was a guest/someone else maybe trying to rob, or thought I was a single woman there alone (we had window blinds open at the time) and wanted to get in to the room. To our surprise, he was staff, and they needed us to leave the room to a single bed room, bcs someone had booked that double bed. At 8pm?? First of all- why did they not call my room to explain? It was 8pm. Or send someone with an actual explanation that had some hospitality & uniform or at least a key ready for a room switch. It all felt extremely weird. We asked to stay in the room bcs it was 8pm and we were told we’d be charged extra. So we moved. The new rooms shower would not shut off, I told staff in the morning and they didn’t seem to care.
Won’t be returning.
- Madison (2/5): - Looked promising in pictures, got to hotel and area wasn’t as good as it appeared online. Top lock on room door did not work, tv remote did not work, towels smelled and there was a used bar of soap in the shower. Room looked ok but bathroom did not look clean. Not a lot to do around the hotel other than go to a Yankees game. Would not stay here again.
- Carlos (2/5): - Area was dirty, no bars restaurants, nothing is walking distance. So many homeless ppl around the building. Spend the extra money and dont stay in this area.

- JOSUE (6/5): - Price quality
- Aland (2/5): - Not my first choice of stay
- Brett (2/5): - Elevator didn’t work, place was disgusting, towels stunk and stained, blood on the light switch, loud at night in hallways, staff is clueless, unsafe area. Paid for 2 nights, ate the second night, checked out.
- victoria (8/5): - Clean room, basic facilities. Had small fridge in room but no iron or hair dryer (not sure if i'd get one if requested). Hotel is quite a distace from the nearest subway station, took sround 25-30 minutes to walk. Plenty of shops on the walk though. The environment was as i expected for a hotel in the Bronx area of New York, very noisy, quite grubby but very friendly locals.
- Matt (6/5): - Not a super safe area. Hotel was worn and could be better updated.
But is very close to the train station
- jennifer m (6/5): - Not a great part of the Bronx to stay. Lost track of how many homeless were sleeping around the building
- Alexis (8/5): - You get what you pay for! It worked for what we needed. I saw a lot of really bad reviews and was skeptical. We had a smart tv in our room, no bugs and it was fairly clean. Did they clean our room or sheets while we were out? No. But that wasn't a huge deal to us. The area seems sketchy but we walked to the subway and Yankee stadium daily and had no fears or worries. You're going to New York, dont expect people to be overly friendly. The front desk barely spoke to us but they weren't rude. We needed a hotel to sleep at and that was about it. It was perfect for that. We felt safe at night, you could just hear everything happening in the hotel from the hallway. No sound proof anything. LOL I would stay here again.
- Gibran (6/5): - It was okay.
- Gabriel (6/5): - The staff was nice. The room was nice. Complimentary coffee was nice. But the walls are thin. It was loud. When a door closes it is very loud. It’s about a 20 minute walk to a subway to get you downtown. The area is very sketchy. Lots of drugs and we did not feel safe walking in the dark. The elevator didn’t work twice. It was affordable. But for good reason.
- Courtney (8/5): Perfect for a game - Perfect hotel to go to a Yankees game. Clean, friendly staff, cool vibe, on-site parking, and close to the stadium. Highly recommend, but only if you’re going to a game!
- David (10/5): - Solid for a one night stay. Very friendly staff. Good looking room. The bed wasn’t the best
- James (10/5): - Clean room
- Arisdeysi (10/5): - Being on a budget, this hotel was perfect for what we needed. 2 nights. Lokesh was welcoming and made checking in swift. We had bikes too! We were able to take the elevator checking in. But the elevator didn't work after that. Had to use the stairs, thankfully we were on the second floor, for convenience it be nice if we could use it anytime. Then again, as an introvert I didn't bother asking to use it.
- Latoya (6/5): - Dear Nova Hotel Management,
I am writing to formally address serious incidents that occurred during my stay at Nova Hotel in room 312; from September 2 to September 18, 2025, which represent a blatant invasion of privacy, gross negligence by hotel staff, and unacceptable behavior that I categorize as sexual harassment.
On the very first night, I noticed there were no safety latches on the room doors—a fundamental security oversight.
- Staci (8/5): - Quiet, cleanliness
- Mike (10/5): Hidden gem in the Bronx - Great simple easy. No problem with late checkout as well.
- Latoya (6/5): - Staff walked in on me twice while I was naked upper staff was nice cleaning cleaned was nice just discontent
- Sofiia (2/5): - Do not stay
- Johnny (2/5): - Very dangerous neighborhood. Did not stay more than 10 min. and expect a refund.
- Randy (10/5): - Cool clean place to stay
- Quiyona (10/5): - The staff was absolutely amazing! I stayed there for fashion week and the stuff was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable being that I was there for almost 2 weeks. I will definitely stay there again.
- Anna (6/5): - Bed had stains on it😐
- Rudy (6/5): - I liked the staff they were very friendly and great ale. Unfortunately I did not like the bathroom. The tub faucet looked dirty and the water did not really warm up. Before I left the water stop running to.
- Olamide Samuel (2/5): - had a very disappointing stay here. The elevator was out of service, and most of the reception staff were rude and unhelpful, showing little customer service. The only positives were Mohammed from Gambia and the housekeeper, who were both kind and professional. Unfortunately, the negatives far outweighed this; the Wi-Fi barely worked, the room was dusty, and overall, the quality was very poor. I would not recommend this place unless you’re only looking for the cheapest option and are willing to compromise heavily on comfort and service.
- Thalia (4/5): Not a great choice, but close to yankee stadium. - The online photos are definitely deceiving. I thought this was a cute little boutique hotel, far from it. Upon check-in, the man was not welcoming, just very serious. We were told the elevator was not working, but then saw the staff using it. Not great for someone who has knee problems, thankfully we were on the second floor. There was nowhere to hang our garments. The fridge has been pulled from its original spot inside a piece of furnature and placed on the floor. Where it has been pulled from was covered in dust. There were shelves in the furniture that were broken and shoved in at an angle. The bathroom was not good at all. The tub had grime in it, the tile grout area was moldy. With minimal effort, the mold came off with a tissue. There was, what appeared to be, blood spatter on the top left in the shower, someones dirty hand prints above whe shower rod (probably from whoever installed it). Not a huge deal, but a soap dish would have been nice. The floor was clean and the bed was comfortable though! With a little extra effort and some touch up paint and bathtub repair, it could be cute. Also, I was not comfortable with the security. One could just walk in, walk up the steps and have access to all rooms. It is not is the best part of the city, so that is a big security risk. An officer said not to walk around at night if that tell you anything. The main door, outside the room doors need a hydrolic arm to soften the slam. It woke us up.
- Naimatou (10/5): - Nice an clean, I love it.
- Barbara (2/5): - I would not recommend Nova Hotel Bronx to anyone. The hotel is in a very undesirable location surrounded by loud music and litter. The only positive I can mention is the free onsite parking.
There are absolutely no check-ins before 3 PM unless you pay an extra $50. Our room was in the basement with a ground-level window that looked out onto piles of trash. To make matters worse, the door didn’t have a proper lock. When we checked with others in our group, none of their doors locked either. One couple even came back to find their door open, with no cleaning done—leaving us all uneasy about security.
Inside the room, there were zero amenities besides a TV. No coffee maker, no hair dryer, no iron, not even hot water—just lukewarm at best. We ended up pushing the only chair in the room against the door for safety. Good thing we did, because at 8:30 AM someone tried to come in. When we checked, the housekeeper claimed it was “checkout time.” At 8:30 AM? Absolutely not.
The manager at the front desk was rude and arrogant. At check-in, he took my credit card and ID, but never returned my license. When I went back to ask for it, he first denied having it, then admitted he did—but claimed he “couldn’t remember” what room I was in. My name was on the ID and the room reservation, so that made no sense at all.
The entire experience left us feeling unsafe and extremely uncomfortable. If you are traveling with children, I especially would not recommend staying here.
- Annamarie (8/5): - Clean hotel but very thin walls. Could easily hear tv from the other room and the doors to the stairwell would bang everytime someone used it and we could hear it from our room even though we were down the hall.
- Edwin (8/5): - The locks in the rooms have problems and the cleaning service needs to be improved.
- Jeffrey (6/5): - Main reasons I stayed there was proximity to Yankee Stadium (20 minute walk), and free parking. Bed was fine and the AC worked, but floor of the room was already dirty upon entry, bathroom was falling apart, and there were blood stains on the sheets.
- Nakkia (10/5): - The room was actually pretty decent considering the area it’s in
- Nicholas (6/5): - One evening stay after a Yankees game and it was perfect distance. Easy parking . Easy check in / out and room was clean . It suit our needs and worked out great . Great price but would have loved a breakfast ( that’s my one and only suggestion) . Would recommend.
- LEVOR (10/5): - Would be nice for vending machines to be stocked up or courtesy drinks even just a bottle of water would have been nice
- Bryan (4/5): - Never again
- michael (10/5): - Room was clean and large, big flat screen tv. But the room door lock didn’t work. However no extra locking door and no microwave in room was ok exchange for the room and tv size…
- raquel (10/5): - great place
- raquel (10/5): - they gave water bottles
- Tia (6/5): - No just no
- Jeremiah (10/5): - Thank you
- Bagrat (6/5): - The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The place could really use some derp cleaning—Rugs had lots of gunk, AC was full of dust, bathroom was dirty, vent did not work, and sit had boogers all over the it, we had to clean. ourselves.
There are two fridges in the room, both will freeze your food to death. No microwave in the room, only in reception. There’s a coffee machine in the reception that usually has the whole hotel queuing up for.
Overall, if you’re in a hurry, you can pass a day or two, but don’t expect much. Certainly not worth the $160/night you end up paying to checkin before 4pm or if you book on site.
- SALVADOR (6/5): - Had to pay a $50 “early check in “ fee. Close to NY Yankee stadium
- Onaldo Benkos (2/5): - The room was not clean at all. I asked management to change my room they laid to me. Horrible
- Stephen (10/5): - Great and quick customer service
- Shaquil (6/5): It was an alright stay - Free parking but limited spots available. The staff was the best part of our stay, they were very courteous and helpful. The room we stayed in did undergo a renovation but the renovation didnt make it to the bathroom. The elevators were an interesting conundrum because they only worked sometimes and we stayed on the 3rd floor. The front lobby looked nice and the location was a plus in the bronx as well.
- Yazmine (10/5): - Nice
- Yvonne (2/5): - The property was dirty, small, no amenities and limited parking. The staff was inhumane and did nothing to accommodate the customers. The place was overpriced and the elevator did not work. It is non refundable and highly unsafe. Don’t believe the good reviews read them all and please don’t stay at Nova Bronx hotel.
- Richard (10/5): - Felt like home.
- sonia (2/5): - This is not a hotel. It does not have irons, workable elevators, closets, deadbolt for doors, it smells like mold, and I believe it is more of a shelter for people however through greed they allow paying customers to interact with people that don't pay. I will never visit nor recommend this hotel to anyone.
- Dailiana (8/5): - .
- Francisco (10/5): - Excelente servicio, todo bien limpio y organizado y lo mejor parking propio.
- Haley (10/5): - Clean!
- vicki (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! - We picked this hotel bc it was close to Yankee Stadium & bc they have a parking lot. Big mistake. We should have stayed outside the city & took the train in. This neighborhood was gross, rundown, and loud. The hotel was quite grungy. The housekeepers just spray a lot of cleaner in each room to make it smell clean (you could barely breath from how thick it was) but it was dirty. There are no slide locks, chain locks, or deadbolts inside the rooms. We had 3 couples staying in 3 rooms & everyone had to create a way to lock our doors from the inside to keep people from being able to just come in our rooms. All night long doors opened & closed & they were big, heavy, fire doors so it was loud. We aren't sure if it had to do with prostitution or drug sales but there was definitely something creepy going on. In the middle of the night a woman started yelling & screaming, but we were all too scared to leave our rooms to find out what was going on. I laid awake most of the night afraid for all of our lives & worrying about our car. Terrible night, worst hotel I have ever stayed at, scariest night of my life! Avoid this place like the plague. Everything about this hotel is gross, weird, and scary. If we don't all get our identities stolen by the front desk clerk who took photo copies of all of our driver's licenses, it'll be a complete miracle. I even froze my credit card after using it there. Hotels.com should consider not even letting this place advertise on their website.
- Alex (2/5): - Dirty room, thin walls, ac barely worked. Neighbors woke us up at 1am, staff wouldn’t do anything about it. Staff knocked on our door and tried to enter at 5:45am
- mohammed (2/5): - No privacy
- Brian (8/5): - The overall stay was good, would I stay again. Yes. Would it be my first choice No. I didn’t like that the establishment didn’t have a vending machine or ice machine. The bed and pillows were comfortable. They put brand new sheets and towels in room. Tv had all the apps and was huge, big plus for me.
Outside you had to many strange people wonder around. But I feel that is out of the hotel control considering the area. Although the hotel has parking it is limited. Convenient to transportation systems. The front desk people were very helpful.
- Seven (10/5): - Everything was good just shouldnt familys near couple's
- Tarah (10/5): - Great experience.
- gilbert (2/5): - Elevator not workong..parking very limited no iron in room to get ready..noisy hallways, area near hotel drug infested and unsafe..good luck not getting robbed..staff very unfriendly...will.never come back!!
- Eric (10/5): - Great experience
- Onaldo Benkos (2/5): - The room was not clean at all. I asked management to change my room they laid to me. Horrible
- Raiyan (2/5): - PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING. NEVER BOOK WITH NOVA HOTEL BRONX.
I am not one to leave reviews unless I feel that it is necessary to warn other guests. I am also a very easy going person and not picky at all. This hotel was terrible. After checking in (which was a whole other ordeal), we were given a room with no working AC and broken light switches. They eventually changed our room, but it was filthy. At that point we were too tired to go back to front desk so I spend the night wiping down the room. During our 8 night stay, our room was not cleaned twice, and it was because I requested it.
Our nightmare did not end there. After the second night, we found a $783 charge from the hotel. When we brought it up to management, they said it was for our stay because we didn't pay yet. When asked how they found out Orbitz reservation if that was the case, they had no answer. During our stay, we heard from at least one guest a day with the same issue about extra charges from the hotel. This hotel is definitely running a fraudulent business.
- mohammed (2/5): - There is no privacy or security in the room. An employee entered using another key. I told the receptionist and he apologized, but the same employee made the same mistake the next day. There is no security lock for the room from the inside. I advise you to be dressed because an employee can enter at any moment.
- Sadou (10/5): - I like the cleanness
- Patrick (10/5): - nice clean rooms nice bed pillows and comforter
