Guest Reviews
- John (10/5): - Yo this was a really convenient stay. Modern communication style: I would not recommend if you’re the person who needs a physical person for checking but as someone who doesn’t mind this went above and beyond.
Snacks were a great add on.
Location is nice and quiet and safe.
And close to the interstate.
Will stay here again.
- Michael C (10/5): - Exceptional area, very clean. Very convenient for pets. Great overall experience. Really cool town.
- John (10/5): - Elk Horn is a very small Danish-based community. I spent the day enjoying the museum and eating kringle. Hygge Inn was perfect. This is a great little place to stop over for a quick visit as it's just off the highway.
- Kathy (10/5): Great place to stay - Clean, comfy & quiet. The town has a working Windmill from Denmark. We came for the tour. Wasn't disappointed.
- Stan (10/5): - Clean room, quiet. Enjoyed being across from windmill! Thanks, Great Dame and spouse Flo!
- Cheryl J (10/5): - Please don’t let the exterior fool you. According to the owner this is a works “in progress” property. The interior has been updated and exterior will be next. The room we stayed in was very nice. The flooring was appreciated as compared to carpet. The beds were super comfortable and the snacks, TV and coffee maker were appreciated. Access to the property and room is all accomplished via texts which worked out well. The area is interesting with the Danish windmill and museum in same town. Best wishes to the owners with the continued work on this quaint property.
- Becky (8/5): - Nice place about 7-8 miles off the interstate good for a nights stay after driving all day. Room was clean and decorated nicely but there’s nobody on site and check-in is done virtually, which went smooth, once we figured out how to do it. 2 restaurants right down the street.
- Annette (6/5): Comfortable bed - Bed was comfortable and the floors were clean in our room. There wasn’t a front desk for check in just instructions on how to find our room and a code for the lock on our room door was sent by email earlier in the day. The door from the outside of the building to the inside hallway was unlocked and when we left at 3 in the morning it was still unlocked. If my husband was not with me I would not have stayed. The room smelled of stale cigarette smoke, had missing ceiling tiles in the hallway, and holes in the dresser. If the management paid better attention to little details I would have left a better review. There are not many places to stay along that stretch of 80 in Iowa. We felt it was the best place among the choices.
- Becky (10/5): - Great location across from the windmill, plus easy, contactless entry, and a large and clean room!
- Karen (10/5): - Quiet. Ice machine broken. Clean room. Comfortable beds.
