Guest Reviews
- Jennifer (2/5): - After booking, we repeatedly messaged the hotel for directions and only got a reply at 7:55am on check-in day, telling us the only boat left Cartagena at 8:15am. No way to make it. They then sent a contact for a 9am boat costing 90k + 30k port tax, though cheaper 70k options exist. Given boats run only until 9am and transport can cost as much as two nights’ stay, this should be clearly stated before booking – we could easily have missed the first night.
At the hotel, overnight guests have no advantage over huge day-tour crowds who arrive from 8–9am, take every lounger and fill the pool, with loud music blaring until they leave mid-afternoon. Rooms are basic huts with no soundproofing, so no chance of a quiet morning.
Water frequently cuts out and there is only cold water. Despite advertising free Wi-Fi, staff first said it was “broken”, then claimed Wi-Fi isn’t included and would be chargeable.
Food is very expensive for tiny portions – we paid ~70k for rice and three small slices of chicken while staff meals were much larger, and the “free breakfast” fruit and eggs were similarly stingy. Bikes were supposedly free to borrow but one had a flat tyre and the other no brakes.
Worst of all, staff showed zero initiative or care to all the above mentioned and more: dirty tables, overflowing ashtrays, etc. They spent more time on their phones than helping guests. Overall, a huge disappointment on an island where your hotel experience matters a lot. Visit at your own risk.
