Guest Reviews
- Ana (6/5): - Room stay needs better linen, pillows and towels. They have friendly staff.
- Silvia (2/5): - The place was very dirty and everything in the room was ugly.
- Rene (8/5): - yes
- Tonny (2/5): - This hotel is absolutely unacceptable. The property is infested with roaches, and after 11:00 PM the entire atmosphere turns unsafe. Loud disturbances, including people yelling throughout the night, make it impossible to sleep. We stayed for two nights while visiting family, but this is not a place for families. No one traveling with children should stay here. Very bad experience overall.
- John (6/5): - The people here were very nice, and the stay was comfortable. But they REALLY need to do some cleaning and maintenance. I hope the owners see this, because this would be a very good place for the price if it was better maintained
- Sonja (8/5): - Everything was great.
- Elizabeth (6/5): - Room was to dusty, cleaning needs improvement.
- Michelle (4/5): - The shower did not turn on. The floors were filthy. After stepping out of the tub, as the shower was not functional, my feet were black from walking on the floor.
I went back to the tub to step in the water, walked on a towel to my socks and put my shoes on, never touching the floors again.
The only good thing was the manager who kept trying to assist when the front desk was unhelpful.
I was initially overcharged, but the manager came out and fixed the bill and provided some discount for the non-functioning shower.
I was never asked how my stay was, very little communication from staff.
- Maria Patricia (2/5): -
The towels were dirty, the breakfast was cold and there were no options; it's not a place I would recommend. The people at reception were okay.
- Cory (4/5): - The room and area was so bad we didn’t even stay the night.
- Candace (6/5): - Staff was nice even with a very late check in. Door in bathroom could use some attention. Cleaned/painted and repair door know. Paint on tile could be removed. Nothing major, would look a little bit better care for.
- Karla (2/5): - Los cuartos eran viejos el desayuno bajamos a las 8 y no había absolutamente nada súper mala experiencia por suerte fue solo una noche y era para llegar a dormir solamente
- Tyler (4/5): - Toilet loose on floor,towel holders rusted,advertised pool,filled in with dirt,
- DIANA (8/5): - It wasn’t a luxury hotel by any means, but the staff was incredibly kind and that made all the difference. They were super nice to Sylvie (my dog), and on our first day, even though we arrived late for breakfast, they extended it a bit just for us. That was such a thoughtful touch.
The rooms were always kept clean, and they changed our towels and took out the trash regularly, even if they didn’t make the bed. One downside was that you had to leave your trash bag outside the door if you wanted it picked up, which didn’t look great seeing bags in front of each room.
Also, the hotel is pet-friendly and they always treated Sylvie well. The only issue was the area outside for taking dogs out to do their business wasn’t very clean, since there was a truck parking lot right next door. But hey, there was still enough space for Sylvie to do her thing.
In short, the kindness of the staff and how well they treated us (and our pup) really made the stay worthwhile.
- Valeria (2/5): - The room was in terrible conditions. The Ac was practically broken and filled with dust and a whole bunch of randomness. Beds were terrible the sheets were dirty. The lamps that were in the room are so old you can see the rust . The bathroom tub was terrible too, you can the rust coming off. The microwave oh my gosh, it has never been cleaned!
- Philip (8/5): - An older motel, but clean and well managed. Everything you need and nothing you don’t. Good bed, spacious bathroom counter. Continental breakfast was adequate. I would stay there again, and I would recommend it.
- Dayanira (2/5): - My stay at Old Town Inn was absolutely terrible. In the first room we were given, we found two live cockroaches in the bathroom and another one on the bed. The covers smelled awful, and the whole room felt dirty and poorly maintained.
They moved us to a second room, but it was just as bad. The bed sheets had blood stains, the lamp shades were red and looked creepy, and the toilet seat was broken. On top of that, there were spiders all around the outside of the room, making it even more uncomfortable.
The place was in such bad condition that we didn’t even stay for breakfast because we were too disgusted.
I would never recommend this hotel. The cleanliness, hygiene, and overall maintenance are completely unacceptable.
- James (2/5): - The room was beyond neglected. Whoever took the pictures did a great job! Sad that we were duped into staying there. The people writing the reviews are liars. It's obviously them putting them on there. There's not supposed to be any smoking and the place reeked of it. There is cigarette burn holes everywhere. Paint peeling from the walls. As being resort owners, what we experienced was disgusting.
- Javier (4/5): - The room is neglected and dirty. The sheets squeezed. The breakfast was very poor in terms of variety. The hotel in general is dirty and lacks good maintenance
- Hayley (8/5): - Staff was great. I was able to get an early check in after 1PM. Pet friendly hotel with just a $20 deposit. Breakfast had waffles, cereal, bagels, bread, chicken sandwiches (looked questionable) juices and horrible coffee. The room had many lights not working. The tv would recall what your doing louder than the TV volume and can't change it if you wanted. The tub had a crack in it but would hold water to a certain extent if you took a bath. Overall, you technically get what you pay but still friendly staff and veru comminitive with me.
- Marta (2/5): - This hotel failed to meet the most basic cleanliness standards.
Our first room had dirty bed sheets and a dirty bed cover, which is unacceptable for any guest.
We were moved to a second room, only to find long hairs on the sheets and makeup stains, clearly indicating that the bedding had not been replaced.
On top of that, some lightbulbs weren’t working, and although the front desk promised to replace them, no one ever came.
The front desk area has a strong pesticide smell, making the experience unpleasant and concerning from the moment you walk in.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. As many other reviews have mentioned, they’ll likely respond saying they’re “listening” and “working on improvements,” but nothing seems to have changed based on past feedback.
- Nancy Cortes (4/5): - The sink was clogged, the room had a strange smell. The front desk was rude with family member when getting breakfast. When checking out the front desk was on personal call and was ignoring me when i tried to speak to him in regards to room sink.
- Cheryl (8/5): - Room was clean but toilet not flushing so got another room which was clean but smelled a bit musty.
Remote to TV didn’t work , but front desk came down within minutes to change remotes. They allowed to get another chair for the room which we really appreciated
- Ganna (8/5): - Room is clean. Breakfast is OK.
- Nanette (10/5): - The room was not spotless but it did fill out the expectations
- Blenedy (10/5): - Great time and location
- John (4/5): - The bathroom stank of urine and mildew. The floors were dirty. The washrags were threadbare. The waffle machine didn't function.
- Brian (8/5): - Nice
- Jason (2/5): - It’s gross, unclean, AC barely works (certainly doesn’t dehumidify), and outdated. After hours, you have to speak to the staff through a window that you can’t hear through; you have to put your ear down to the tray (where they give you your keys) to have any semblance of what’s being said — even then it’s barely distinguishable. The only positive about this place is that it’s quiet.
- Joseph (6/5): - But did not work the television itself. The floors were dirty. The bathroom door was broken. The bathtub drain did not drain properly, It wouldn’t stay open. The towels and sheets were extremely rough.
- David (6/5): - Front desk staff was friendly, bed was fairly comfortable and room was fairly clean.
However, there were some things that were an issue. The sheets had cigarette burns on them, the drawer handles in the room were severely rusted and outlets were lacking (only one outlet near the bed - needed one on each side of the bed).
The tv remote was sticky, which was gross.
While watching tv one night, I felt something on my leg. When I looked, I saw a cockroach running across the bed!
- Lance (8/5): - Room was clean and was decently quiet
- Ashley (8/5): - Pretty nice for a quick trip for a wedding. Tripped the breaker on the room the first day and didn’t know how since nothing was on but they came up and fixed it. No pool which was a bummer but it served the purpose to sleep comfy and safe.
- David (6/5): - Room was okay,
- Evelyn (6/5): - The water wasnt warm in my room
- Eugene (8/5): - This hotel is park at your door 2 story. We requested a first floor room & was accomplished. It was a clean room with a nice TV that was. Nice to watch after driving all day. The hotel was directly off the highway quiet & secluded.
- Keri (10/5): - Very nice people that work there very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and nice very comfortable we will definitely be staying again. Great prices and the free breakfast was very enjoyable
is very nicethere again
- Gladys (10/5): - Every thing was great
- RICHARD (8/5): - The room was clean but, we had 2 roaches come out of the exhaust vent in the bathroom. The hair dryer was stopped up with lint and the switch was stuck in the on position. Room 104.
- Jonathon (4/5): - This wasn’t the worst place to stay in the world, but it definitely wasn’t the best. The room was definitely not clean and there was a definite odor of mildew. Both headboards had mysterious substances on them, and the floors were greasy. The beds were not comfortable. Cleanliness is definitely not a priority to the management here.
- Edward (8/5): - I never went to breakfast at the hotel because I met friends in town for breakfast. The facility is clean, but a bit rundown; however, the price was fair. The bed was confortable and the room was quiet with very effective temperature controls. The staff was polite and helpful. The hotel is very conveniently located with lots of amenities close by.
- Brenda (10/5): - This place was a last minute idea that turned out to be a very relaxing one and probably will visit in the near future.
- Makaylah (2/5): - This property is not as described and is not as shown in the photos. Upon our arrival, the lobby was closed so we had to use a service window on the side. After ringing the doorbell 3 times and waiting 5 minutes between rings, a lady finally comes out and has no shoes on. She removes the piece of wood from the hole and says something that I can barely hear. After plastering my face to the window and her screaming I finally understood that she was asking for my drivers license. After a long screaming conversation between the glass we finally get our key. Upon entering the room the light switch doesn’t work so we fumble around looking for the lamp. After finding it we turn the light on notice stains on the sheets. I try to remain optimistic as we have been excited for this trip for weeks, and the reviews on Expedia were great. Next I go to check the mattress for bedbugs as I do in EVERY hotel we stay in and find not only that the sheets are molded but that the mattress is covered in mold as well. At this point I’m over it but it’s been a long 18 hour drive I just want to shower and sleep. I go to the bathroom to find that not only are the shower and toilet completely molded and rusty but that there is a giant hole in the wall that they then tried to fill with toilet paper. I walk out of the bathroom and discover that the dressers and entertainment stand are full of rust and ROACHES. They started coming out from under both when I opened the drawers. Don’t book here. I didn’t sta
- Timmy (10/5): - St Augustine was very nice. Enjoyed seeing
- Lisa (4/5): - How to change rooms because the TV did not work and was outdated. Took a shower and the water came out extremely slow and light. The toilet kept running and we had to take the lid off the tank to lift the flapper to flush it. The blow dryer was melted. The only thing decent about the whole day. Was the girl work in the Front desk was extremely nice.
- Holly (10/5): BOOK NOW YOU WILL LOVE IT ! - CLEAN SAFE FAMILY FRIENDLY THE ROOMS ARE SPACIOUS WITH EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE BEDS!!!

- Holly (10/5): Family oriented, clean safe and affordable - A great place to stay safe affordable spacious very comfy beds. Staff and owners are amazing and very attentive. You won’t be disappointed.
- Holly (10/5): Safe for a family vacation or girls weekend - Beyond clean, spacious rooms, family oriented, relaxing, and safe and the best Prices in town..
- Holly (10/5): YOUR KIDS FAMILY AND BACK WILL THANK YOU!! - The best hotel. I’ve stayed at in St. John’s and the Elkton area family oriented beyond clean, amazingly comfortable beds, spacious rooms, quiet and very safe.
- Nichole (6/5): - Check in was very easy. When we entered our room it appeared clean, but the cobweb running from the wall next to the door to the first double- bed told me it's not cleaned every day. We were only staying one night so we could explore St Augustine, and the price point was fantastic. So we had our adventure, came back to the room and slept well. The beds are comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower too! We missed the breakfast, but did see the breakfast area, seemed very nice.
- Jose (8/5): - Pet friendly, good location, pleasant staff and decent rooms but the bathroom smelled very bad and there was a leak from the corner of the bathtub which reached the other side of the wall to the floor. Besides that it was good for the price.
- Chelsea (2/5): - I would really have liked to leave the Old Town Inn 5 stars because it is quiet and affordable, however, the manager, Harsh, is unfriendly and discriminated against us because of our son's service animal.
