- dendarkjabberwock (8/5): Very good place, in few steps from excellent. - Stayed with my wife two times in different rooms during the same trip in Japan. Very good place, in few steps from excellent.
Cleanest spotless appartments I ever visited so far in between 10 different self-checkin hotels and 3 trips. And with overall great design too! Also quite spatious, with enough room to put your luggage and things.
Very good bright lighting and excellent soundproofing between rooms. Street is very quiet too. So great for light sleepers like us.
10 minutes walk from Hakata station and great shopping mall. Plenty of reustarants and combinis nearby.
Water become hot in 1 minute and stays hot. I really appreciated since other hotel I stayed had problems with hot water.
Great Wifi connection. TLDR: The check-in procedure was tedious, there were very few plastic cups, and no cutlery at all. No small details and useful thing in the room (mostly empty room). Most of this would be easy to fix to make this hotel an excellent experience for guests.
This was the worst check-in I have ever had in Japan so far in between 10 different self-checkin hotels and 3 trips. It was very long; you need to fill out the same forms on your phone on-site that you already sent them before (name, job, address, birth date) and add a passport photo for everyone. There was no internet connection near the doors. Trying to do this check-in after a 25-hour flight is plain torture instead of just an annoyance. I can compare it to other unmanned apartments in Nagasaki, where they made the same check-in procedure work in just a few clicks.
There were only three plastic cups and plastic plates instead of ceramic ones—it looks very cheap and unpleasant. There was no cutlery at all (not even chopsticks). No forks, no knives, nothing. Easiest to fix with some cheap ceramic plates and cups from 100 yen store and few steel forks and spoons.
The stove was not working in both rooms we stayed. Never had plans to use it but still - for apartments it is strange.
The TV was very small—not a big concern, but these apartments are great and deserve better than this. Again, it made the place look cheap in comparison with other hotels we stayed of same price range.
There was no small details or decorative things in the room. It made the room spotless but a bit lifeless and empty.
It seems the staff don't answer on the Booking app, only by phone (and there is none in the room). As foreigners can't easily buy a SIM card for calls, it means if an emergency happens (like a broken lock), you are on your own, it seems.
