- Zoe (8/5): Very good -
- Mohsen (8/5): Very good - Great location Clean
- Pieter (8/5): Very good - The location is superb, the living room, bathroom, kitchen, sleeping space is spacious and clean. The communication with service manager is spot on and friendly. I would certainly go again. The matras of the sofa bed is in urgent need of replacement. I am confident that will be done.
- Théa (9/5): Superb -
- Ahmad (9/5): Nice & homely - Location and facilities Nil
- Friederike (8/5): Very good - Located in a quite street, very beautiful surroundings and just minutes to the next bus stop or Paddington Railway station. After arriving, we were very happy, that the apartment was warm and cozy. Unfortunately there was no hair dryer, which we would have needed, because it was so cold. So we couldn't use the shower. The couch wasn't prepared for our child, even if we put here in the booking. We had to set up the beddings and everything by ourselves.
- Taff (1/5): Appalling - Location Misleading, Unhygienic, and a Complete Disgrace – Avoid at All Costs
I booked 4a Junction Mews through Booking.com, which is managed by Stay Beyond Property Management, expecting the property to match the description and photos provided online. Instead, I was met with one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I’ve ever had with a rental property.
To begin with, the property was completely different from the photos advertised online. The decor was unrecognizable, and it was clear that the house had been poorly maintained and was in terrible condition. The moment I walked in, I was hit by a freezing cold house, forcing me to keep my coat on while inspecting the property. Unfortunately, the inspection only revealed more horrors:
• Damaged doors, skirting boards, and floors
• Broken and unstable furniture including tables and the bed
• A non-functional dishwasher
• Stained and unhygienic quilts – Upon checking under the covers, I found quilts stained with yellow urine, which was revolting. I had to wash the sheets myself, but it didn’t fix the fundamental issue of the disgusting and unhygienic bedding.
The worst part of this ordeal was the complete lack of heating or hot water for two full days due to a broken boiler, which had already been out of order before I arrived. This left me with no choice but to spend my time in cafés and restaurants to stay warm. Staying in the property was unbearable. The Stay Beyond team only managed to fix the boiler and an electrical issue late on the second day of my stay—far too late to salvage what was supposed to be a relaxing trip.
The customer service was abysmal. Despite being advertised as having a “24/7 contact number,” my repeated calls went unanswered, and no one contacted me to offer solutions in a timely manner. This level of neglect and unprofessionalism is entirely unacceptable.
- Annika (8/5): I would recommend. It was very affordable for the location and apartment size/condition. - Clean and nice apartment. Kitchen is good to cook a simple meal and has basic utensils. A small closet where you can hang clothes. Door system was very smooth. Location is amazing, close to Paddington station and the tube, the area felt very safe. I had asked multiple times for them to confirm that the sofa bed would have bedding when we arrived and they promised to have it done. When we arrived it did not have bedding, which we had to do on our own - not a big deal but just inconvenient. The sound isolation is terrible, woke up to people talking outside of the apartment/dragging luggage. The check-in process was a bit confusing with having to send multiple pictures of passports and paying a deposit fee. The apartment does need some small fixes here and there but didn’t bother us for a few nights stay.
- Atheerah (9/5): 9 out of 10 as I hoped there was more ventilation. Other than that, everything was great i have no complaint. - Facilities were great. The sofa bed was comfortable. The legs of the dining chairs were a bit of a nuisance, as we kept stubbing our toes on them.
- Alla (10/5): Exceptional - Great location near Paddington Station, easy to find, and was amazing for 3 of us. Has all the necessary amenities (we stayed for 4 nights) and the josts were very accommodating, answered quickly and helped us with the questions we had.
- Mosada (8/5): Very good location - Location was exceptional Some appliances are dirty like kettle, bread toaster,,etc.
- Hamza (8/5): Good - The Location was amazing, size was perfect for family of 3.
The Kitchen was on point. Beds should be bigger and comfortable. ( Both Living room and Sofa Bed )
- Aarya (1/5): Pathetic. Never book here. Lack of consideration for your guests - Nothing. We were a family of 4 visiting. Getting us checked in was the biggest hassle because of the horrible communication skills of “home@staybeyond’s” employees. Opon arrival we noticed our sofa bed was broken. And the mattress sinked right into the bed frame, making it impossible to sit on, let alone sleep on. The flat was damaged and broken in several places and had a bad odour all around. It looked nothing like the pictures. The worst was getting hold of the company’s employees to get us a new mattress or a bed frame. It took us several follow-ups for 4 hours straight. They neglected us as their customers entirely and did not pay any attention to the problem we were facing. This wasted our whole one day and we couldn’t roam anywhere. We started looking for hotels instead because it was impossible to spend the night there. Upon several requests for refund, we weren’t given that either.
- Sophie (4/5): Dirty sheets, very uncomfortable, lots of effort. - Great location close to Paddington station on a quiet and safe mews street. Dirty duvet cover, sheets and sofa bed mattress. Handprints on headboard left from previous visitors. Sofa bed not made up despite the company knowing 4 people were staying. No wifi box or information on wifi so we had to ring the company to get the passcode. When we mentioned the dirty sheets the person on the phone told me to email photos and then put the phone down. Someone did later arrive with a duvet cover replacement which we put on ourselves.
Bedroom and living room are not separate due to a large gap in the wall at the top so there was no real privacy in either space. Sofa bed was incredibly uncomfortable.
Entry system was VERY confusing, would have been totally lost if not for a recent comment which we screenshotted.
Company requested a great deal of information from us in advance through multiple back and forth emails including a damage deposit higher than the cost of the room and passport photos of every guest. Sounds like they've had bad guests in the past but this was inconvenient and felt unnecessary and invasive.
- Mohd (8/5): Recommended - Location Ok
- Meryem (1/5): Bad - We couldn’t stay bcs the host wanted 250 pounds more to give the key . We couldn’t trust and didn’t pay that money. We’ve paid 170 pounds and at the beginning it was 99 pounds. I can stay in the best hotel in London with that extra 250 pounds. I wanted my money back but they didn’t even care. They took the money and didn’t let me to use property. They wanted extra 250 pounds
- Dionne (7/5): Good - Fantastic location in a quiet mews, everything you need even dishwasher and washing tablets. Comfortable bed, friendly neighbours Not as clean as it could be, noisy floors in neighbouring upstairs apartment, downright in living room flickering sofa uncomfortable in need of some maintenance
- Yusmina (4/5): Realy didsapointed with what they provide, not as described in the website. Happy with the customer - Location and respond are giid Check in earlier have to pay, using the code to open door not being instruct properly as the result, we need to wait for 40 mins outside. Lots of facilities is not provided, such as soap, teatowel, etc. Blockage drain on the shower. Poor kitchen pan fry.
- Aqid (10/5): Exceptional - Staying here during the holiday was a delightful experience. The cozy and well-furnished space provided a home-like atmosphere, making it easy to relax and unwind. Plus, the convenient location allowed for easy access to local attractions and amenities. Cooking meals in the fully equipped kitchen added a personal touch to the trip, and the freedom to set my own schedule enhanced the overall sense of independence. The personalized and friendly service from the staff contributed to a memorable and enjoyable holiday stay None
- Darren (6/5): Nice property and location - The actual accommodation and location was very good. The room had everything you need for 1 or 2 people and there was plenty if room. The property is tucked away in a nice mews in a good position for access to Paddington and surrounding area. I dont like to leave negative reviews but on the occasion, I have to feedback on the check-in process as it was laborious, long-winded, over the top and and too many requests and expectations to be asked of a guest who just wants to book some accommodation. I didn't have time to go through the lengthy communications so missed some important check-in info. The property and location was very nice and I would stay again but not to go through the check-in process again that would put me off. Sorry but my recommendation is to simplify this process to make the experience better for future guests.
- Dionne (9/5): Would recommend - Great location stayed here twice this year everything you need in this apartment lovely little quiet mews about 10 minutes walk from Paddington Station friendly neighbours very comfortable bed WiFi is good gas central heating washing machine with washing powder everything you need even a washing airer in the cupboard big bonus they allow pets Rather expensive. There is another air B&B flat above this apartment the sound travels and when the cleaners arrive in the morning they are very noisy big downside I have to keep asking for my deposit back they say you get it returned in 2 weeks but not so.
- Andrew (7/5): Good - Good location and good sized apartments A few broken things which didnt get fixed so for the cost id expected more.
- Leanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jayde (8/5): Great location, very comfy, entry system problematic. - Location was perfect for us, really convenient to access everything north and central London. Edgware Rd has many Tube connections which just made the journey around town with two young kids really easy.
Furniture was stylish and practical, and beds were comfortable. Wasn't a big fan of the digital key system. We had trouble getting at our midnight arrival and the customer call line took some time to answer. It was quite stressful. Solution was to PULL THE DOOR TOWARDS YOU WHILE ALSO HOLDING PHONE TO THE LOCK AND THEN PUSHING DOOR OPEN. If you didn't know to pull the door towards you, you can't unlock it successfully. This little trick isn't noted in the properties access instructions.
Another set back to the digital system is the need to ensure your phone has battery (usually at the end of a long day out and about), and that you have a working SIM card for the country with connectivity to the app. On one occasion I also left my phone behind at an event. Thankfully I realised on the way home that I didn't have my phone and went back to get it. This again was late at night with a real risk of being locked out for the night. I much prefer the key box system with an entry code - which can be written down or stored to mind, alleviating all of those phone based problems.
- Beat (7/5): Good - Perfect location near Paddington Station. Good for 2 people Very complicated booking procedure and key handling. There are no windows to open at night. Especially the sleeping room is a bit stuffy.
- Jessica (10/5): brilliant , loved the community and quiet street , very safe , easy check in , communication easy , easy retry seem les - washing kitchen facilities and location a face washer and extra blanket or throw blanket would have been handy
- Steffen (2/5): waste of money - location no equipment for second bed
did a lot of chat during the visit without any result. truly very bad service.
- Liraz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Urtahyatul (9/5): Superb -
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional - location
- David (7/5): Good -
- Ahmad (9/5): Superb -
- Josje (8/5): Very good - Nice location, nearby the paddington station. Nearby Ridgeware Road underground. We didn't find the location because there was not an adress. We had to contact the main office.
- Mohammed (1/5): don’t stay I got scammed by them - scammers scammers
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Sudel (8/5): Very good -
- Ahmed (2/5): I don't recommend it at all - الموقع I lived in this apartment
It is the worst experience of my life
I've traveled a lot but never seen
Worse than this experience.
1- At first they asked me for proof of photos, and this is their right, and the request was sent.
2- They asked to send a security deposit on the housing and they told me that it will be returned after leaving and I left on July 30th
The amount has not yet been returned.
3- When I arrived on Tuesday, July 19, it was hot in London, and no one greeted me or even told me where the key to the apartment was. I waited with my family for 38 minutes at the door in the scorching sun
4- When entering the apartment, it was muffled and the mattresses were not clean, and the pictures are attached to you.
finally
I do not recommend it at all until the number of the Internet I requested and they did not give me until after three days.
Very very very bad experience
I will file a lawsuit against them to return the insurance amount that I have not received until today
- Manjula (2/5): The Worst Possible Experience In London - Condition of the apartment -
I don't think I have given negative reviews on booking but this place warrants it. We entered the place and realised the locks didn't work properly. It seems they had been hastily changed and one has to really push to open the door. Upon entering the home, we realised a similar situation with the window latch. It was hanging and almost broken. The door also had holes in it.
The sofa cum bed was extremely dirty and there were stains on the blanket. We requested for a bedsheet since there was none provided in the cupboard (it only had spare pillows).
Finally, the shower had no separation or curtains. It once again seemed the door was taken apart and forgot to put back in. The drainage was horrible. Water clogging was all around. All in all, the apartment seemed like it was broken in and robbed before handing over to us.
Customer support -
We immediately informed via email to the guest representatives at staybeyond on some issues - Lock security, windows latches, shower condition, hot water requirement and request for a bedsheet.
For everything, they request for pictures and continue to respond with that they will reach out to the local staff for assistance. We stayed there for three days and on no day did any local staff show up for assistance. We didn't even get a bedsheet to put on the sofa cum bed, inexplicably, even after exchanging 30 emails (not an exaggeration - it was actually 30) with the staff. They would either ask for picture or reply with "we acknowledge your problem and have informed the local team". After 3 days, I'm pretty sure there is no local team.
This was one of the most terrible experience in London. While there are parts of the apartment that are decent, for instance the kitchen is very well equipped and the bedroom condition was nice, the other parts of the apartment were quite bad. I'm going to add photos of the place in support of the review.
- William (6/5): great location and comfortable apartment - great location and spacious sticky lock and no bath towels!
