The kitchen is spacious, extremely well equipped, and perfect for both quick meals and longer cooking sessions. We especially appreciated the smart layout – the separation between the kitchen, living room, and bedrooms gives a great sense of comfort and privacy. The view is another highlight, with beautiful ocean sunsets you can enjoy every evening. The location is also very convenient – about a 30 minute drive from the airport, and most of the island’s major attractions are within a maximum of a 1 hour drive. On top of that, the staff were very friendly and helpful, making the whole experience smooth and welcoming. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and well-designed place to stay on Madeira.
- Simon (7/5): Great house - fantastic hosts, some teething problems with functionality and location. - Juan and his wife were exceptionally kind, honest and attentive throughout our stay. Highly recommended hosts. The house is beautiful and very large. Great balcony and huge kitchen. Easily comfortable for 3 couples on a vacation in Madeira. The value was very good but there were a couple of things that were frustrating for us. The listing describes the property as being close to the beach within a mile and a half. The house is in a quiet residential neighborhood called Canhas, which is pretty but very high up in the valley and away from Punta do Sol. It is extremely steep and the roads here do not have walkways or paved sidewalks which makes it impossible to walk down to the beach safely. As a result of the location, having a rental car is absolutely essential. The other issue was the functionality of the hot tub. I booked this property because of the hot tub, so that we could soak our tired muscles in the evenings after a full of hiking in the mountains. However, throughout our 10 day stay, we could never get the hot tub working to a satisfactory temperature (never got over lukewarm) - despite leaving it on for 3 hours (as suggested by the host) Juan the host was very apologetic and said that he would need to hire an electrician to attend to the hot tub issue sometime in the future. Once they fix the hot tub and as long as you don’t expect to walk to the beach, the house and hosts are fantastic.
