Guest Reviews
- David Laurence (10/5): Jay's Cosy home " real lesson don't judge the book by it cover "😍😍😍 - My stay at Cosy Home in Maryport was absolutely exceptional. From the moment I arrived, Jay made me feel genuinely welcome and looked after throughout my stay. He is without doubt one of the best hosts I have ever met — friendly, professional, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests are comfortable.
The accommodation itself was spotless, peaceful, and truly lived up to its name, offering a warm and relaxing atmosphere after long days. What really made the experience special was Jay’s demeanour and outstanding hospitality, which reflects perfectly in the excellent customer service reviews online.
Thank you, Jay, for your kindness, great conversations, and for making my stay in Maryport such a memorable one. I would highly recommend Cosy Home to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and a host who genuinely cares about his guests. N/A
- Justine Taylor (1/5): Bad - I would not recommend itatall - Nothing It was grubby. The location was in an area that was rundown and I didn’t feel comfortable there. The bed linen was not of the standard I would expect - it was cheap stuff and I wasn’t convinced that it was particularly clean. I did not feel comfortable to sleep in the bed so stayed up and left the premises the next morning although I had paid for 3 nights.
- Bridget (4/5): Only if you're desperate. - Location was good and host pleasant and helpful. The flat was dirty throughout and in need of some serious overall maintenance.
- McDonald (10/5): Both Bill and I loved it - Very comfortable, classy
- ste (10/5): Absolutely amazing - Omg I have done few reviews and all I can say about this property is its amazing. Never been to Maryport before but soon has I walked in apartment it was home it really had everything and so much more. Absolutely spotlessly clean. And had WiFi big TV comfy bed amazing couch. If I could rate it would be million percent. Front door didn't match the property it needed painting. But the apartment was amazing
- Elaine (9/5): - There was a funny smell when u entered the apartment, not sure what it was but it was unpleasant.
Other than that it was very good
Thank you 😊
- Tel M (10/5): A fantastic stay in Maryport - The location was fantastic for my needs, just a few mins walk from the railway station. The property wasn't anything to write home about from the outside.... but inside, we'll, it blew me away !!.
The accommodation was so comfortable. Everything was well presented, the kitchen & bathroom full of facilities and the bedroom so cosy and comfortable. Great sleep was achieved for the 2 nights whilst there. To think i could have just had a bog standard premier inn or the like but instead i had this gem of a place. It really was 110% so Thank you Jay. I will return next year that's for certain !!
Literally a stones throw away was a supermarket, convenience shop and fish & chip shop so food options were a breeze. Maryport is a lovely harbour town and the local folk were friendly too. Absolutely nothing NOT to like 🤓

- Toni (10/5): Fantastic stay - The location was great for the town centre and local amenities. Very homely cosy and comfy in the apartment. There was nothing I didnt like
- Peter (10/5): -
- Erzsebet (6/5): it was not a lucky choice - Great location, nicely decorated There was no wifi and even no mobil net
The shower didn’t work
There was set the heating turn off at night ,was too cold, freezing outside. I turned on the thermostat, but it didn't work. No extra duvet so left early morning
- Paul (10/5): Excellent all round - The apartment is a great size, has everything you need and is in a great location. Jay is a great host and answers any questions immediately. Breakfast supplied at the nearby Redby cafe was brilliant and Debbie and her team are great. Nothing at all to complain about.

- Dawn (9/5): Last minute one night stay - Cosy, warm, homely feel to the property. Comfy large sofa. Large TV with Netflix etc. Very tasty Vegetarian full English breakfast. Parking.
- Sandrine (10/5): Can highly recommend. Central, cosy and great host. - Wonderful host. Helped out anytime needed anything. Vegan options at the cafe were amazing. Location of flat central. Had everything we needed.
- Tom-Angus (10/5): Perfect cozy well equipped apartment. - Well equipped, cozy comfortable apartment. Located in the centre of town and central for all amenities.
Will definitely book this apartment again.
It was so perfect for my weekend visit.
Can't wait to do it all again in the near future. N/A
- Pamela (8/5): - Fantastic flat that had everything we needed and dog friendly. Comfortable, cozy flat with a tv in borh rooms. The cafe that served breakfast was amazing, serving plenty vegan options, that tasted great. My only issue was the bed wasn't the comfiest but to be honest, that was a minor issue, considering how cheap the property was to rent for the weekend. I would still recommend booking this flat for any visit to Maryport.
- Weller (7/5): Lack of Cleanliness - Liked the location. Nicely decorated. Whilst first impressions were ok, it lacked attention to detail for cleanliness. Bathroom was not cleaned and nor was kitchen.
Dining table dresssed with plates and cutlery but all were covered in dust.
Grime all around door handles and waste bin not emptied.
Storage unit in bathroom had waste products in.
Kitchen floor not cleaned .Mirror in lounge covered with dust and handprints.
Bedroom far too cluttered with furniture and hard to get around the bed.
Communal area needs some decorating and front door is hard to open.
Host was lovely but definetely needs to sort the cleanliness .
- Michael (10/5): 10/10 worth every penny and helpful owner. - It was so comfortable and warm 😁 and had everything you could wish for in a stay. Nothing it was perfect 😁
- Jadwiga (6/5): -
- Jones (8/5): - Plenty of room..
- Kirsten (9/5): - Welcoming, clean and comfortable flat with everything I needed. Good location and ai was able to park nearby in the cornernof Catherine St and Furnace Rd. Breakfast was great at the prom cafe after volunteering at juniors parkrun. Good communication. Nothing

- Abbie (10/5): Perfect, cosy little flat in Maryport - The flat is perfectly situated right in the heart of Maryport, it was a perfect home from home. The facilities were great, we cooked every night and never found the kitchen to be an issue. The breakfast at Jay's café every morning was an absolute bonus, there were even some mornings we missed breakfast so we got our lunch for free instead! Jay was always at the end of the phone if we needed any help with anything. No fault of the flat or owner, but there was a lot of creaky floorboards from the flat above.
- Amanda (10/5): Lovely flat with a good location and perfect for your stay . Would recommend . - Beautiful , stylish and clean and everything you need . Cosy bed , and nice area to chill and eat. Breakfast also really nice . I would stay here again Nothing
- Jack (10/5): - Great stay at a very well equipped and comfortable apartment, central in Maryport and ideal for travel into the Lake District.
- Julie (10/5): Would deffo use again! - Absolute bonus to be given an opportunity to grab breakfast from the cafe… and fab food to boot!
- Mark (2/5): Don't stay if you value your sleep! - It's a nice flat centrally located. The flat needed some general TLC. I was disturbed by someone walking up and down in the flat above directly over the bedroom. I should point out that this is an old building with creaky floors. However, the person walked continously up and down for 2 hours every night between 12-2am or 1-3am. I complained to the owner who responded to my initial messages saying that they would speak to the owner of the building or other tenants etc but when the disturbance continued, my subsequent messages were ignored. I ended up sleeping on the sofa in the front room. I understand that some problems can't be resolved quickly but I was offered no alternative and most dammingly I was ignored after the first two nights which was totally unacceptable.
- Barry (8/5): - Great Bonus
- adam (10/5): - Perfect for what we needed cheap clean and cosy Could do with more pressure in the shower but as its a flat its understandable wouldnt put me off booking again tho
- Fernando (10/5): -
- Lucy (10/5): We loved it here, great place for exploring the lakes, lovely breakfast - We stayed last month. Really is a home from home, the photos don’t do it justice, jay couldn’t do enough for you the owners are so lovely
- Simon (10/5): - Lovely apartment, everything you need, located near the town centre, great breakfast in the morning at the owner’s cafe in the morning
- yvonne (8/5): Ok - Small comfy and in the middle of town walking distance to everything Was told parking was close by. There was none had to park 5 mins walk away and pay has carpark was pay and display.
Advertised bottle of wine on arrival no wine was left in the apartment
We were re amended a small cafe for breakfast. We saw the cafe when we arrived so called in for late lunch. We got a toastie and a bowl of soup and 2 cans of pop. The bill was £11 then was told drinks hadn't been added to then the bill jumped to £18.
We didn't go back after that so can't comment on the breakfast
- Susan (9/5): We had a lovely stay at the Crosby Street apartment. Very quiet and clean - Lovely breakfast, lots of choice, everyone very friendly and helpful. Toilet seat was loose.
- Mariola (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay in this lovely apartment in Maryport. The place was spotless, cozy, beautifully decorated, and smelled amazing — you can tell the hosts really care about every detail. It felt like home from the moment we arrived. My dog and I both felt very comfortable and welcome throughout our stay. Breakfast in the nearby café was also included, which is a great touch. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!
- Alina (10/5): -
- Jon (9/5): Absolute hidden gem, a must in Maryport - Centrally located, spotlessly clean ,excellent communication with owner. Breakfast was very good. Would certainly recommend. Well done ! Only minus for us was the lack of a teapot but that is being very picky
- Jean (9/5): Really enjoyed my stay - very relaxing and close to railway station for travels to the area around. - Great free breakfast at cafe down the road - helpful owner and staff. Apartment was one of the best equipped I have stayed in and excellent value for money. Noisy at times due to location. Smell of cigarette smoke from flat either above or below in lounge every morning.
- Simon (10/5): Cosy friendly and plenty of respite 😎 - Everything it really is home from home 😎 No complaints whatsoever
- Paul (10/5): -
- Jane (10/5): Just perfect - Perfect place to stay. Home from home with excellent facilities, spotlessly clean. Great place to stay for walks or as a base. Will return again.
5*****
- Diane (9/5): Excellent stay - The property was clean and welcoming
Breakfast was first rate
The owners were friendly and even spoilt my dog
- Donald (9/5): great - great breakfast
- Sanders (9/5): - Nice comfortable flat, everything provided by the owner, including breakfast round the corner in his cafe. Definitely home from home, close to the High Street and not far from the harbour.
- Lisa (5/5): Passable - Location and the fact it had a laundry Shower don’t work - lucky there was a bath
- Debbie (10/5): Love love loved it - Clean comfy home from home Location was great owner was friendly and informative and gave us a complimentary breakfast that was fab. People were so friendly and the pubs were very reasonably priced with great food .
- Alangreen75 (10/5): Great base for work in the area - Easy check in thanks to the host who sent all the information needed.
Apartment was lovely and cosy, had a great nights sleep too.
Free breakfast at the Caf'e round the corner was absolutely fantastic and the staff there were lovely too.
- Simon (10/5): Home from home - Home from home has everything you need Spot on
- Iwona (10/5): Exceptional - Me and my husband stayed for 3 nights in July. The building entrance looks a little shattered but the apartment itself is a very different story. It is beautifully decorated and it has everything we needed to make our stay comfortable - from great sofa and TV to all the minor kitchen equipments - like ladles and chopping board. And everything is of great quality! It's not one of the cheaply decorated places with poor quality furniture that are just made up for renting. This place does feel like home! Such a gem in a sea o mediocre booking rental in a similar or higher price range!
The breakfast is served in a nearby lovely café, just 4min walk from the flat. And it was just amazing!
We loved every bit of our stay! I only wish the bed sheet were cotton. But's that's a very tiny issue.
- Karin (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful stay! The place was great and very comfortable. The owner is very kind and welcoming. We were traveling with our dog, and everything went smoothly. The little café nearby added a special charm to the whole experience. Highly recommended!♥️🐕
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional - Extra added touches, breakfast at owners cafe included.Cereal left in the flat for us.Met the owner and he was very helpful.
- Michelle (10/5): Nice apartment in the centre of Maryport - Nice and quiet even though it was in the centre of town Nothing
- Steven (10/5): The accommodation was up and beyond anything we had imagined. We will be planning another visit - The breakfast was superb and the location was out of this world The hob when cooking a meal. Problem with heat and guessing which ring corresponded with which knob
- Kathryn (9/5): Superb - The appartment was spotless & comfortable with robes, lots of towels & toiletries It's not much but I like bedding to be ironed. It would just finish things off. But overall not much to dislike.
- Isabel (9/5): Superb - Very good service, good breakfast, very good location. Really recommended Bed was a bit soft but that is for preference
- Craig (9/5): Superb -
- Dima (10/5): A Wonderful Stay in a Charming Flat - Absolutely lovely flat — spotlessly clean, incredibly cosy, and the host couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful. It truly felt like a home away from home. I was thoroughly impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again
- Jamie (10/5): Lovely stay, warm & welcoming - Really warm and welcoming
