Guest Reviews
- Michele (10/5): Alice was the absolute hostess with the mostess. She made our stay so very special. 🙏❤️ - Absolutely stunning - a beautiful chateau that has been lovingly restored. The grounds are immaculate! Beautiful It was a remarkable stay and property. We can highly recommend it
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional, can't recommend the Chateau enough - This is an exceptional chateau with exceptional hosts, our stay was perfect throughout. Close to Bayeux and the Normandy beaches
- Agnes (10/5): - J’ai adoré le château, un lieu magnifique. Une superbe découverte, c’est avec un immense plaisir que nous reviendrons, le personnel était adorable et le petit déjeuner très copieux 🤍
- Ellen (6/5): Less then expected - The towels looked like they belong to original owner of the chateaux - 17 century. For the price of $300 per night, it’s unacceptable. Also, while it’s charming châteaux with beautiful garden, too many dusty things
- Frederick (7/5): - Amazing location. Something completely different but this is not an hotel. There is no reception, concierge, bar or porterage, no tea or coffee maker in the room, so it's costly for what is on offer. See comment above.

- Octav (10/5): perfect place to stay, nice people -

- Paul (9/5): brilliant. - Was ok. But if a drive to nearest town but was fine cos we hired a car.
- James (10/5): - Beautiful
- Constanciel (10/5): -

- Brittany (10/5): We absolutely loved our time in Normandy and hope to - We thought the property was beautiful, but the lovely family that runs the hotel was the best part of our stay.
- Chiara (10/5): -
- Stephanie (9/5): A charming, idyllic bed and breakfast experience in a Normandy manor. - The whole family enjoyed the breakfast. Nicely presented with a range of options. Simple yet highly enjoyable. great atmosphere too. A level of French is needed to communicate with the host. Our rusty French got us through just fine.
- Pellings (10/5): Exceptional - Loved that it was on the countryside but only 5 minutes drive to the mall and 8 minutes to the city Bayeux. Also more or less 20 minutes drive to the different memorials, museums, Omaha beach etc.
We had the family part. Big rooms, big bathrooms. Friendly and service minded staff.
Quiet area for sure, so no problem sleeping with windows open. Own private park you can walk around in if you like.
Highly recommend it to others 👍
- Lesli (10/5): We enjoyed our stay and would love to return! - We loved the setting and the rooms were so stylish and French! The only thing that could have been nicer were more plush towels
- David (10/5): Dr. Ana - It was an wonderful experience. We loved the chateau and the beautiful surroundings. The service was excellent. Alice and her grandmother made our stay even more special I have nothing to complain about
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pessanha (8/5): Beautiful chateau. Amazing place to stay with my family. - Large, green, well taken care of, beautiful chateau.
- Marcia (10/5): Great location. Beautiful Chateau - This chateau was perfectly located barely a 5 minute drive from the Bayeux village centre. The property grounds were perfectly manicured and the property was clean. Our host was lovely and friendly and provided an amazing cooked breakfast every morning. If you want a genuine French country experience then stay here. Highly recommended Nothing
- Marcie (10/5): Came for the beaches but fell in love with the area, its history, restaurants, rolling lands - The property was FABULOUS! Even better than the photos!!
Rooms were gracious, very well-appointed and decorated. Staff was quite delightful and anxious to please! We enjoyed the breakfasts, the rooster, Shetland pony and bunny rabbit out in the stunning parkland!! Was very close to Bayeau and the D-Day beaches. VERY RESTFUL STAY, and wish we could have for another week!! Can't think of a thing. Perfect days spent there.
- Nelson (10/5): Everything you would want in a french country estate B&B near Normandy - Absolutely delightful bed and breakfast that met every expectation of a Chateaux in Normandy. This is a storybook experience complete w a pony roaming the grounds. Breakfast was exceptional, and the hostess was absolutely charming and sweet, although she spoke zero English and our French is near zero. Highly recommend this lovely place Zero complaints. A gym would have been nice but that was unlikely in this type of country manor. Close to Bayeax and Normandy. Everything creaked as you would expect but it wasn’t important.
- Daniel (10/5): A wonderful experience with friendly staff and excellent rooms and breakfast. - The location outside the city was perfect. Even though out in the countryside the drive into the city was only about 5 minutes
- Andrew (8/5): Great location and charm - Location was perfect for the attractions we visited
Staff were very helpful The garden and rustic charm of the Chateau
- Dawna (7/5): Nice property and grounds. Overpriced. - The staff is very nice and helpful even though the language was a challenge for us. The room was large. The furnishings were nice. The grounds were pretty. Easy in and out of the city of Bayeux and the surrounding areas. Free parking on the premises is always appreciated. This did not feel like a 4-star accommodation. The shower in our room didn’t work. The towels were worn. The bathroom could have been more comfortable. The breakfast was average. We felt that this accommodation was not a good value for what we spent.
- Avraham (9/5): Superb -
- Krystal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abraczinskas (10/5): Quiet, private, comfortable and in a beautiful country chateaux! - Classic French breakfast: fresh croissants with butter and jam, fresh whole fruits in season, thin sliced meats and cheese, yogurt with homemade granola, eggs were offered. Coffee delicious. Orange juice cold and fresh.
- Harold (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tal (7/5): It was nice but not worth the money paid, too expensive. - The garden is beautiful, breakfast was really good, the chateau was very nice but not worth the cost. Not all rooms have a toilet, I reserved a room with a bathroom but then saw that it did not have a toilet, this was weird, I asked the property owner and she said that we should pay for a room with toilet and a bathroom. When we arrived at the property, the room we received was enormous, and the bathroom had only a tub, when showering the whole floor gets wet. The toilet was a stare case up.
- Daryl (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet, relaxed, good location as a base for the area.
- David (8/5): Very good - The building is beautiful and the owner is extremely friendly (as other reviews note, only speaks very minimal English but was totally patient with our limited French!) Rooms were huge and quite luxurious (especially after staying in Paris right before!) The electric car charger worked great. This is super close to Bayeux (where the nearby restaurants are) and a short drive to D-Day beaches and museums. Mattresses (at least ours) were very firm which was fine for us but be aware if you have another preference. The listing is unclear about whether breakfast is an additional charge - be aware that it is. It cost us about 90 euros for our family of 5 per day. We found the breakfast very good for our picky children because there was a variety of items, but we had thought the price was included in the room price we may have made other choices. The owner said "what time do you want breakfast" on check-in as though that's expected, without being clear about the extra cost (whereas at another chateau we stayed at later, the owner told us of the options up front).
- Katie (10/5): Wonderful Place to stay with Family - The location was perfect for seeing Bayeux and the beaches of Normandy. It was nice and tucked back from the road so very quiet.
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (8/5): Lovely little chateau close to Bayeux - Friendly hosts. Historical building. « Walking distance » from Bayeux (albeit 1 hour walk) Récent renovations done in modern / not-so-nice style
- A (10/5): breakfast was delicious - beautiful chateau and grounds beds were not really comfortable
- Yanina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Johanna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adam (10/5): Beautiful old-fashioned stay in giant accommodations just minutes from Bayeux. - gorgeous 19th century chateau just 10 minutes outside of Bayeux. couple that runs it is extremely pleasant (NB: they speak almost no English). Family suite was truly huge. Grounds were beautiful to walk, and the place is pin drop quiet. Three caveats: 1. the beds are extremely hard. personally, I love that so I slept amazingly well, but those looking for a big soft bed would have a problem; 2. there did not appear to be air conditioning. again, not a problem when we were there because it wasn’t york hot in the evenings, but I would ask before I booked July or August; 3. water pressure was quite weak. All three of these are not a surprise in France, and to be clear, I would stay here again if we ever went back to Bayeux.
- Irene (10/5): We loved our stay at Chateau des Monts. - We enjoyed our stay in this peaceful chateau near Bayeux. The setting is serene and beautiful. The view from both the front and back outdoor seating areas is lovely. Despite its stately appearance and antique furniture, the chateau has the feel of a home - complete with mismatched towels - rather than a formal hotel. The proprietor does not speak English - but understands a bit and is nonetheless helpful with reservations, etc. Between sign language, a translation app, and her experience and understanding in context, communication is possible. The property is family owned and operated, and Madam's granddaughter helps in the mornings and speaks some English. The chateau is a short distance into the country, and a car is very helpful - although taxis are available. It is a short and easy drive from Bayeux itself, and convenient to the D-Day locations. The rooms are large, clean and very comfortable; the bathrooms are spacious; the salons and outdoor spaces are comfortable and available; and breakfast was very nice, plentiful, and includes made-to-order eggs. We visited in June - when the garden peonies and roses were in bloom - and there were fresh flowers in the guest rooms and throughout the chateau.
The property does not have an elevator, so luggage must be carried upstairs to the guest rooms. The staircase is marble, wide, and the steps are not steep, so it is easier to navigate with a suitcase than most hotels or B&B's.
- Cory (8/5): Definitely a cool experience - We wanted to get dar out of town so this was great for us but it's definitely not close to town if you need to be. The place was old and rickety but that's the kind of chateau charm we were looking for.
- Worrall (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful grounds and gorgeous rooms. Friendly and helpful staff!
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - beautiful, elegant, quiet and private. staff is welcoming and lovely but it is not a hotel with full staffing, rather akin to a b&b beds are a bit hard
- Sturbaum (10/5): Beautiful château - Hostess was very friendly and accomodating. Location near landing beaches and associated attractions. Beautiful setting.
- Adriana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samshaw17 (9/5): Beautiful chateau & location, helpful owners, would highly recommend for a special treat! - We had such a lovely stay at this beautiful chateau. A realy luxurious treat for our stay in Normandy. Despite the language barriers on both sides, our hostess was so helpful and accomodating. Really enjoyed it. Breakfast was superb! My vegetarian boyfriend said he would have appreciated the option of an alternative to ham with breakfast (but that's us being very picky!)
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gemma (7/5): Good - beautiful location, and stunning gardens little tired in places, no facilities, not able to buy a drink, breakfast was expensive
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
