Guest Reviews
- andrew (4/5): Low cost for good reason - The room was passable I was charged more than the booking site price, outside areas of the hotel look abandoned, the corridor doors outside the room squeaks loudly and next to zero soundproofing so you hear everything! Limited hot water and fire alarms going off through the night.
- simon (4/5): disappointing for the price, will be going to travel lodge for same price next time - Good location for what I needed Carpets in room threadbare in a lot of places. Lots of little moth type insects in the room and in the towels in the bathroom. Mugs by the kettle looked like they hadn't been changed with some residue at the bottom of each. Shower head holder in the shower broken, had to hold the shower head to wash. Towel rail in bathroom just for decoration, wasn't actually plumbed in. Drawer next to sink coated in another person's shave trimmings.
- Thushara (8/5): - Good value for money. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable. Little but dated and some construction work is taking place at the time. However it did not bother us.
- Andrew (4/5): Wouldn't be my first choice - Nothing comes to mind. The hotel is extremely tired and even the deluxe room was basic. I would suggest more of a contractors hotel and perfect for this type of cliental. If i were a lone female i would be uncomfortable, the lock on the inside of the room door was what you would find on a bathroom, not very secure in my opinion. It is clean and suits the could arguably be said is fit for purpose, but in hind sight i would have opted elsewhere if not so last minute.
- Enno (3/5): - Dusche ging nur extrem heiß; Autobahnlärm
- Kemper (1/5): -
- Michelle (6/5): -
- Gail (6/5): - It is close to the A12 and to the event we were attending. It was very clean. No plugs on the bed side of a slightly tired room .
Small towel.

- Jason (5/5): Fisal at reception was real nice and couldn’t be more apologetic so the owners need to inform booking .com about the - The bed was comfy Well the bar and hotel is being renovated this was not said when I was booking the room (I wouldn’t have booked )
It is run down the hotel is in need of a major clean up broken windows in room smells musty I wouldn’t stay here again it’s a shame because it’s in a very peaceful area also bought a can of lemonade was charged 2 pound that’s ridiculous
- Niall Mac (8/5): Definitely no issues - Perfect for what we needed Nothing
- harrington (7/5): It’s a bed in a room - Decent location No hot water in the morning for showers
- Richard (8/5): -
- YAN (2/5): Had to choose as only place available to my work - Location Needs doing up and sorting out badly , very poor standards in all departments
- Richard (8/5): -
- trish (8/5): - Staff very helpful and friendly. Few problems with plumbing. Otherwise comfortable and clean. You have to appreciate that the place is being refurbished. Only issue is they dont serve breakfast. We had a comfortable overnight stay No breakfast facilities
- Babu (7/5): -
- Bateman (5/5): -
- Emma (6/5): Ok for a one night stay. - Spacious room with all the facilities you need for an overnight stay. Bathroom was nicely decorated and shower worked well. Even provided us with an extra towel without asking. Room was clean and had everything we required for an overnight stay. Room looked a bit tired. Fire alarm went off at 5AM and woke us up. Guests shouting in the corridor from 3-4. Not the best nights sleep. Requested an earlier check in and host did not acknowledge this until I reminded them. Hotel reception looked tired and the decor needs replacing. Bins were overfilled and the outside area needs a lot of work.
- Derek (5/5): The room was ok and good value, it's not easy to find and easy to miss as you arrive. - The room was good. Clean and tidy and a good double. It took me a while to find the hotel. Although very close to the A12, it is not easy to find. The postcode does not find it, no directions or warning to ignore postcode. If you miss the turning by car then it's a long detour to turn around. I found it by hotel name on web-based mapping. There is considerable buldling work taking place and I decided not to have breakfast (don't know if it was offered as I could not see any catering facilities).
- Jamie3024 (2/5): -
- Jay (5/5): Done the job to get your head down for a night - There is no bar or restaurant very disappointing
- Kevin (8/5): Enjoyed the quiet and comfort of the hotel. When the modernization is completed it’ll be a fabulous wedding/conferen - It was clean and tidy. Secure parking for my motorcycle 🏍️ which is a must for me. It was advertised with a restaurant and still had the breakfast menu in the room. The restaurant had been closed for over a year and as i arrived in the evening I wasn’t prepared to go back out after unloading my bike to find a restaurant that would still be serving food!! I had trouble finding the property. A signpost pointed to the right, I followed the very narrow country lanes for at least a mile and couldn’t find it. Having turned back it was up a narrow roadway 50 yards from the original signpost but had no signage by that small road!!! Could do with another sign at that junction.
- Martin (2/5): - Location was ok Nothing like that on the website toilet keep blocking shower was over flow the tray floors dirty not enough pillows not any milk and not enough tea or coffee or sugar had to keep asking for more
- Keisha (4/5): -
- Sally (6/5): Enjoyed my stay - Nice comfortable place to stay for a short stay staff nice and friendly Nothing to dislike
- Dee (5/5): If you are only needing the room for somewhere to sleep while on business then it fits the bill. - The location was very good for me. it was quiet which i like. The room was clean and adequate for my needs. The fire alarm was tested about 9pm with no warning so a bit of a shock to the system when getting ready for bed. No tea or coffee refils for each day and the heater didn't work so it was quite cold in the room in the evenings.
- Mandy (2/5): Never again will we be back! - Location was good for my working away Very poor accommodation. Lights flickered, shower didn’t work, lots of commotion outside from staffs friends hanging around, fire alarms going off all hours! I was complaining at reception at 4 am as I wasn’t getting any sleep with the Noise and fire alarms going off. Not just one night either. Was left with a hole in my foot from a nail sticking out of the bathroom tiles (which were all cracked and chipped also) management didn’t want to know about my poor stay!
- Daniel (10/5): Great - The staff was very helpful and friendly The mattress
- David (8/5): -
- Julia (8/5): Super clean room - A nice big warm room, comfy bed, tea and coffee making facilities. The shower was good and it was super clean, all for an excellent price.
- Ashley (8/5): -
- Alin (5/5): Not very welcoming - Cold, heating didn't work properly. No heating in bathroom. Noise from 5am,some sort of water pump, very loud.
- Mark kenny (5/5): - The hotel looked like it was abandoned 20 years ago
- Luke (5/5): -
- Parker (8/5): -
- Nigel (4/5): Below expectation. - Appearance of the hotel was poor , bathroom was very cold , water pressure in the shower was below expectation. No restaurant available and Breakfast did not appear to be available . Breakfast menu seemed to be biased towards Muslims as only 'turkey bacon' was offered. Also check in staff seemed to suggest breakfast wasn't really available.
- Emma (6/5): - The room was very clean and the bed comfortable The shower had dirty water coming out to begin with
The front door lock was a bit faulty, the man at reception asked me to help him open the door to the room
- stephen (6/5): - Location, clean Lack of restaurant, was a cold room , very basic but we hear they are just restarting so worth always counting in
- Mark (6/5): - Clean and comfortable. No free view tv and no tea bags! Basics this day and age as I don’t drink coffee
- Vlentin (8/5): -
- taylor (8/5): - Bed comfortable and good linen Room could have been cleaner
- MUJIB (4/5): Won't prefer to stay again or give reference to anyone ever - Gave us extended check out time with no added cost Main Heater was not working
Costly Dinner with only two options in the menu
No Lift for Pram and luggage
- Adrian (9/5): - I've stopped here two years ago . these big changes happening. rooms are Lovely and clean staff are very helpful breakfast was lovely on the hole it's great value . restaurant and bars not open yet it's being refurbished at the moment all in all a lovely say.
- Gary (5/5): - It's cheap and the rooms are clean Theres no bar and the grounds are filthy with litter everywhere
- Kay (5/5): - Room was spotlessly clean. Shower was hot. Bed was comfy. Hotel is run down, and basic facilities. Stayed for one night.
- Justin (1/5): -
- Slack (7/5): -
- Lyndsey Bates (4/5): Facilities and hire were fine yet no hot water and was unable to have a shower - Comfortable and assessable No hot water
- Jevgenij (4/5): - good comfy bed, big parking , safe place i didn't sleep all 2 weeks i stayed there- i think there is people who live there continuously, to noisy - talking on loud speaker next door every evening till late night around 1 or 2 am.
will never stay again 🤷♂️
- Austine (4/5): -
- Okoli (9/5): - Exceptional staff The post code took me to fire headquarters
- Jane (4/5): Disappointed as looked nice on website. - It was very clean, the bed was very comfortable. Lovely refurbished bathroom. I understand it has been taken over recently and is undergoing some refurbishment. I know temperatures were extreme at the time but the little heater in bedroom was ridiculous, I don’t think it would have heated even a toilet. The windows were very old and crafty, so it was freezing cold and I had to sleep in layers of clothes. There was no phone to ring through to reception. When I went to have a shower the next morning I couldn’t get any hot water and the heated towel rail didn’t heat the bathroom enough. My brother in law was in the next room, he is eighty and he had same problem in his room. It could have done with a small lamp on the bedside cupboard as I had to get out of bed to turn the light off. We were booked in for two night but my brother in law said he couldn’t spend another night there. When we informed owner we were leaving, he did offer extra heaters but we already decided to leave.
- Kingsley (1/5): Depressing - Nothing The room was freezing cold as the windows were left open and the heating wasn't on.
The shower had no pressure, just trickling out and was going hot then cold, I felt more dirty coming out the shower than when I went in after a 12+ hour day on site!
- Hassan (1/5): -
- ABDIRASHID (10/5): Good place to visit -
- Gina (3/5): Won't be coming back - Location Heating inadequate, no toilet roll, toilet dirty, decoration bad, only 2 towels, both very small
- Lindsay (1/5): Would not stay again. - It was clean The crackheads staying next door to us kept us awake all night and were very confrontational when I politely asked them to be quiet at 1am. I had to call reception in the end as they had said they had no intention only going to sleep.
The shower was freezing and trickled out, so did not end up using it. This was reported to staff upon check out.
- Chanelle (10/5): - Me and my partner stayed here for new years the staff was very friendly and so helpful I definitely recommend this hotel :) very comfortable lovely and quiet during the night thats what we like quiet and piece the shower was so nice and hot loved the shower too bed was very comfortable:) absolutely loved this hotel we will be coming back here again :) There was nothing to not like :)

The bed was very comfortable.
The bathroom was new but cold

The siting of the TV was at right angles to the bed.
Only one towel was provided had to request another
- AMY (6/5): -
- Tithecott (7/5): Lovely stay and good value for money. - Friendly staff and comfortable bed. water pressure on the shower was only powerful when freezing cold.
- Cassie (3/5): - Room was cold.. and damp ... The room
- Lesley (1/5): Stressed - No sleep at all terrible noise coming from ceiling they said it was water tank everytime someone used toilet or taps worse than a drill we are asking for refund not acceptable we sat waiting for daylight to drive back home room no110 don’t accept this room never offered to move us

- Sally (1/5): No hot water ! Noisy room, ill fitting door - Location convenient for my work NO HOT WATER!
Room door did not feel secure and can see daylight through it, it cannot be a fire door as can’t be safe.
Bathroom floor slippery
Noisy ! No double glazing.
Room Very badly finished off
No hand towel
Cheap long Curtains have to be pulled up to avoid heater below tgus could be a fire hazard
Booked delux room as said it had a bath but only a shower, and only cold water.
- Aimee (9/5): - The staff were amazing and exceeded my expectations, they were so kind and accomodating
- Hannah (7/5): -
- Khamroev (9/5): - Comfortable No
- Connor (10/5): -
- leslie paul (1/5): The bed was comfy - the bed was clean the broken bedside cupboards, the bathroom door needed a repair. booked for two nights only coffee x 1 night.
In general could do with a redecorate.
- Silviu Marius (8/5): -
- Steven (2/5): -
- Raghuvir (4/5): Shame booking.com and also misleading on price by the property owners. Sorry lost my trust on booking.com - Not much except that it was close to where I wanted to to be. It is dodgy. It operates on three name under booking.com. Same room with different rate. I blame booking.com as they do not review their properties. Also it is impossible to contact booking.com
This my second bad experience within a month.
