- Evamaria (7/5): - I stayed at YouSurf for a relaxed weekend in Essaouira. I was aware of it being a hostel, yet I was a little disappointed by the state of my room. The photos looked nicer. I had what seemed a four bed room to myself, so space was no problem. Bathroom, beds and balcony were quite rundown, so could use some TLC :) But the staff was very friendly, a lovely lovely breakfast. And the location is perfect for (wind)surfers or to explore the coast a little outside of the city center.

Très cher pour ce que c'est. Etablissement de très mauvaise qualité, heureusement que nous sommes restés que 2 nuits. Les photos ne correspondent pas du tout, tout est très sale et pas du tout entretenu.

Generally a nice place, but I missed a couple of things that I encountered in many other hostels in this price range. Here are some suggestions what to add to make the place even better: - Put curtains around beds in dorm - Small racks in dorm beds to put stuff - Small individual lights next to dorm beds - A COMMON KITCHEN TO USE FOR EVERYONE - Clean bathroom more often. It was really dirty. Even after I asked for it to be cleaned, sink and toilet remained questionable.

Decent size lockers in dorms and the breakfast is great too. In the male dorm; thin, budget blankets and no lock on toilet door.

- Vital (1/5): - nothing Misleading listing and dishonest behavior. I booked a private room via Booking. When I was almost at the property, the host messaged me claiming there was a “system error” and that I would instead be placed in a dorm bed for the same price. I refused and asked the host to cancel the reservation, as this was clearly not what I booked. The host pressured me to cancel it myself, which I refused to do. This appeared to be a deliberate practice: advertising private rooms and then attempting to downgrade guests, hoping they will either accept or cancel on their own so the host avoids responsibility. I went to the property in person and again requested cancellation. The host claimed they were unable to cancel. I asked them to contact Booking. During the call, the host provided false information to Booking in another language. Fortunately, Booking investigated the case, understood the situation, and canceled the reservation on the host’s behalf. This is a misleading and dishonest business practice. I do not recommend staying here.

But I'm sure you can get much better for similar price. Noisy, cold. Bathroom is poor. No lock, toilet moves, and doesn't always flush. Very dirty.
