• gwynneth (2/5): Extremely poor and disappointing stay. - The location was very central to wine bars and restaurants. A fairly quiet location. Within walking distance to transport locations and Versailles Palace. The entrance was dark and then having to climb 72 steps with luggage up a narrow winding staircase to the property was very challenging. Of which there was no mention of this in the description. Found one bed made but however the sofa bed required sheets and we had to hunt around for them. The washer had previous clients bedding washed and left in so would have had to take out and dry had we wanted to use the machine. Only 2 bath towels of grey thready state no hand towel . A charge would be levelled for another towels during 3 night stay. We felt very unsafe as could not locate smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector or a fire escape. Could not get tv to work.No hand soap in toilet. Beware of the low beams knocked head a few times. Interestingly the guest comment book appeared to have had pages torn out. Due to all of this we are extremely surprised at some of the good reviews. We would not stay again.
• Desiree (7/5): Unieke locatie - De locatie: unieke plek in een prachtig straatje en super wijk op zeer korte afstand van het paleis en andere mooie plekjes van Versailles In het appartement zelf zat het eea los (radiator viel van de muur, kraan en wcrolhouder zaten los) en het was niet echt schoon. We hebben wel genoten!

• Diana (9/5): Super. Kann ich empfehlen! - Lage, Licht, Ruhe, Einrichtung, wirklich top! Das große Bett macht leider so viel Krach, dass beim Umdrehen alle wach werden und eine dickere Decke für das kleine Bett wäre schön gewesen (auch wenn es warm ist).

• MONICA (10/5): - El piso es una cucada, pequeño pero con todo lo necesario, además está muy cerca del Palacio de Versalles que era lo que nos interesaba, está limpio y con todo lo necesario para la estancia, nada más pisar la calles hay una gran variedad de restaurantes, pastelerías y hasta un mercado donde poder comer o comprar. Que no hay parking gratuito en los alrededores.

• Roberto (8/5): Very good! - The communication with the host was very good! She was available and always nice to provide us with all the information! I would suggest to instal air conditioning....it was a bit hot during the day. But we could sleep well at night....so not big deal!

• Crystal (8/5): Quaint apartment on 5th floor in a charming area. - The area was charming, especially the little road/alley where the building was located. There is a market, some bakeries, and restaurants very close by. In the apartment, there are two skylights that tilt open and a big window that opens up to town views for a breeze. The apartment is on the 5th floor, up a narrow spiral staircase with little to no rails.
• Miranda (8/5): A lovely bolthole at the top of the building in a great location - Excellent location with restaurants just outside the door. Lovely view across the rooftops. Bathroom great and modern. About ten mins walk to palace of Versailles. The 73 steps up to the 4th floor was not great with a heavy suitcase ! Also being at top of building it is very warm but owner has provided a fan. Price was obviously very high for the Olympics so difficult to say it was value for money!

• Brian (10/5): A plunge into history! - This was an incredible stay in the lap of history! My cousin and I, both architecture majors and lovers of old buildings, estimated this old house to be late 18th or early 19th century. Our top floor room was crisscrossed by hefty, hand hewn oak beams and joists (mind your noggin!) and well-appointed with modern furniture, under-counter fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. The neighborhood was marvelous, packed with cool shops and eateries. The crêperie next door was fantastic! The outdoor market about two minutes away had loads of cool stalls, and a small supermarket on the next street was convenient for stocking the fridge. Versailles palace was but a 10-minute walk away, and stunning Notre Dame cathedral was even closer and well worth experiencing. The Rive Droit station was about a 15-minute walk. Hint: There’s no elevator and the spiral stairs are not conducive to toting a heavy bag. Pack light if staying in this marvelous historic property! Maybe just pack a small bag and leave the rest of your stuff at the Paris Nord left luggage office. I didn’t realize our room was on the top floor and I wasn’t expecting to lug my overpacked bag (that was my fault) up 74 steps. Also the entry method took some experimentation until we got it, and outside our efficiency apartment, we found TWO lockboxes instead of one, and spent several minutes fiddling with the real obvious but wrong one until we noticed the correct one laying on the windowsill nearby.

• Brian (10/5): Roomy top floor attic apartment in a safe neighborhood near bars and restaurants and a fabulous bakery - The apartment is in a very good location and the inside is just as the pictures show. Getting into the property was not bad but would not call it great. A couple thing to know: 1) taxi cannot get you right to the door b/c it’s in a pedestrian only area, but it’s only a short walk to building’s front door; 2) once you are in the building you go to the back narrow staircase which you take up several floors lugging all your suitcases; 3) once at the top, you look for the coded key box, enter it, and get the apartment key. For our stay, we were given the wrong code to open the key box. The stairs are narrow so if you set your larger suitcase down it would topple down the steps. Fortunately my phone had just enough battery left to e-mail the property manager. That did not work so I thought to look in the Booking.com app and thankfully there was a link to a phone number and she picked up. All in all, we only waited 10 minutes or so holding our luggage at the top of narrow stairs but once we had the right code, we got into the lovely apartment.

• Loretta (6/5): Not worth all the effort. Interior was clean and modern. - View from 4th floor Walk up….not advertised. TV didn’t function and owner didn’t know how to make it work. We wanted to listen to French TV. Entry was very difficult…winding stairs, no lift. I couldn’t reach the keyhole after retrieving key from lock box. No platform to stand on….finally my friend had to use shoulders and derrière to force door open.
• Chris (8/5): Very enjoyable, ideally located, quiet and well equipped. - Superb location, step outside and you are amongst the lovely streetside café/ restaurants. Ten minutes walk to the Palace of Versailles. Apartment on 4th floor, so very quiet, even with the windows open. Plenty of natural light, and windows open to allow good flow of air. Bed very comfortable, and modern shower. Overall good facilities. The internal beams within the apartment restrict the useable space considerably, but we were expecting that. The 72 steps up to the 4th floor could be a challenge, especially when carrying luggage, but again, it was expected, and we only walked up and down twice a day - good exercise!

• Shani (10/5): Magical - Everything about this place was amazing. The view, the location, the atmosphere, the summer vibe in Versailles. The afternoon music from the square. Honestly, this place was magical to say the least. We didn't mind the crazy flights of stairs to get to this amazing place as the apartment and the view made it so much worth the effort. It was exactly like in the pictures. May be more beautiful than that. Pauline was absolutely wonderful. So helpful and accommodating. The staff that helps her out with the cleaning, did an amazing job as well. This was the best place we stayed so far in our 3 weeklong Europe trip. You will not regret staying here :)

Porch light kept going off as we tried every possible key combination ( we had already been in once and were now back after dinner. No response from host. No help from booking.com customer support. Had to ask a waiter next door for help.

Apartment was booked bss 3 guests from which one of the guests was a 7 y.o. kid. the understanding was the kid has to sleep on a small coach next to parents' double bed. upon arrival we noticed this small bed is not prepared and there was no bed linen for it. once we tried to contact the host (both calling and messages via booking) nobody picked up the phone and never called or replied back. eventually whole family had to sleep on one bed. in addition to above: dirty shower (some pics attached), no soap at dispenser, shower towel heater not working, ?used? linen hidden in the drawers, towels of dubious cleanliness with someone's hair on them

• Isabel (8/5): Great location, but long climb upstairs 5 floors. - Location was really good, right in the centre, close to the market, restaurants and palace. Place was clean. The apartment is on the 5th floor highest level so it was difficult to carry the luggage up the narrow stairs. The basic essentials such as shower gel and shampoo was not provided so that was inconvenient. We asked several times how to operate the heater but never got an answer for that. The odd wooden beams criss crossing in the room at very low height is a bit of a hazard as we have to be mindful. We hit our head a few times. They could have provided proper pillows which were odd shape and not good support.

Requested for a third bed - but none was made-up, and wasn’t sure if linen in the cupboard was clean. Third person had to book an extra room at a hotel nearby. Host was difficult to contact - did not respond to messages, and make sure you confirm access arrangements beforehand, as it is a remote site.
• Roman (8/5): All in all, really great stay: perfect location, very good host. - First of all, the location is great! If you travel to Versailles and plan to stay in the town a couple of days (incl paying a visit to the Palace) then this place is certainly a very good option to consider. It is situated in a small shopping street (but no noise during the night) just 20 meters from the market place. In the morning you can have coffee/breakfast in one of the boulangeries downstairs. The room is small but cozy, just under the roof. It's clean, all the necessary kitchen stuff is there. The premise is very close to underground parking garage (we parked at Parking Indigo Versailles Marché Notre-Dame - litteraly 3 min walk to the premise, right below the marketplace). Be prepared to pay about 30 Euro per day. If you plan to travel to Paris, railway station is 20 min walk. It's walking distance to Versailles Palace too. Last but not least, very friendly host Maxime. He is very responsive and speaks English very well. One caveat to consider - he sent us the instructions about the keys on the day of arrival, when we already departed. As we had no internet on the way, we did not know what to do when we arrived and stood in from of the building's door. But the problem was solved within 10 minutes: he texted us the instructions with the codes and all the stuff. A couple of points to consider: - The room is upstairs, at the 4th or 5th floor with a very steep (old style) stairs. Not a disaster but something to be aware of if you are not in top condition. - If you got used to big bath towels (as we do), take your own with you. The ones you get there are small: you'll need 3 at once. - The cabinet with towels and bed sheets falls apart when you open the cabinet door. I felt like at home: both Maxime and I turn out to be Ikea customers :)
